Description

【発明の詳細な説明】 本発明は、熱可塑性材料から成る管状部材を溶接する方
法およびその方法の実施に必要な装置に関するものであ
る。
熱可塑性材料から成る管状部材を溶接する方法として、
例えば、ドイツ連邦共和国特許出願公告第221205
5号公報に記載されている既知の方法においては、電気
的に加熱可能な加熱鏡板を用いて熱可塑性管状部材の端
面を加熱し、装置内にクランプした管状部材の端面を加
熱鏡板の旋回退去後に相互に押圧して突合わせ溶接が行
われる。この場合、特に管状部材の外周および内周に溶
接ビードが形成され、このビードにより流路断面積が挟
まり、流れ抵抗が高まる欠点がある。
また、管状部材の端部を熱源に直接接触させる場合には
、熱源が熔融材料によって汚染され易く、したがって申
し分のない溶接を行うためには加熱鏡板を頻繁に清掃す
ることが必要となる。
本発明の課題は、上述した従来技術の欠点を克服し、溶
接結合に際して内周ビードの発生を回避することができ
、強固な溶接結合が確実に達成され、しかも外周も一層
平滑に形成しうる溶接方法を提案することにある。また
、そのために必要な装置は、既設配管における所望の箇
所においても簡便に使用できる簡単な構成のものでなけ
ればならない。
この課題を解決するため、本発明は、請求項1に記載し
た方法および請求項2に記載した装置を要旨とするもの
である。本発明の有利な実施例の特徴は、従属請求項に
記載したとおりである。
以下、本発明を図示の実施例について詳述する。
本発明による溶接方法の第1工程においては、第1図に
示すように、2本の管状部材1a、lbの端部をクラン
プ装置3a、3bにより相互に所定の距離を隔てて離間
した位置で同軸的に保持する。両端部間には、輻射熱を
発生する環状の加熱装置4を配置する。
これら管状部材1a、lb上には、それぞれの端面2a
、  2bから離間した位置で外周支持リング5a、5
bを配置する。支持リング5a、5bは、加熱装置4の
内径よりも小さな外径を有するものとし、軸線方向に相
互に接近移動可能とする。
管状部材1a、lbの端部における内部スペースには半
径方向に拡張させうる内周支持装置6を配置し、この内
周支持装置6には引き出し部材7を設ける。内周支持装
置6は、外被が耐熱性のエラストマまたはシリコンゴム
から成る拡張可能なブラダー8として形成するのが有利
である。ブラダ−8は、例えば引出し部材7を操作して
軸線方向に伸縮させることにより、機械的に拡張させる
ことができる。また、ブラダ−8をより容易に拡張可能
とすべく、引出し部材7をチューブとして形成し、この
チューブを介してブラダ−に加圧空気等の圧力媒体を供
給してもよい。この場合、ブラダ−8は、調節可能な圧
力を用いて、突合わせ領域における管状部材1’a、l
bの内周ビードに対して押圧することができる。
さらに、ブラダ−8内に熱膨張性媒体を充填すると共に
電気加熱装置を配置し、引出し部材7に結合したケーブ
ルを介して電力を供給することによりブラダ−を拡張す
ることも可能である。
管状部材1a、lbの溶接は、以下の要領で行うもので
ある。
すなわち、第1図に示すように、加熱装置から発生する
輻射熱10により管状部材1a、lbの端部を外周面お
よび端面から熱可塑性材料の熔融温度に達するまで非接
触で加熱する。
次に、予熱した両外周支持リング5a、5bを端部上で
突合わせに至るまで相互に接近移動させ、その直後にク
ランプ装置3a、3bを軸線方向に移動することにより
、管状部材1a、lbの端部を制御された所定の条件下
で接合する。これは、調節可能な圧力によって行うのが
望ましい。
かかる作動工程は、第2図に示すとおりである。
さらに、第3図に示すように、内周支持装置6を、ブラ
ダ−8の拡張により溶接結合領域において管状部材1a
、lbの内壁9a、9bに対して押圧する。これにより
、突合わせに際して内側に押出された熱可塑性材料は外
側に押戻され、この溶接圧力により内側および外側の溶
接ビードを生じることなく直接的かつ強固な溶接結合が
行われる。押圧されたブラダ−8の表面により溶接結合
領域においても平滑な内壁が形成されるため、配管全体
には申し分のない流れ特性が生じる。
溶接結合が完了すると、ブラダ−8は再び第2図に示す
本来の大きさに復元変形させ、引出し部材7を用いて管
の開口端から引き出す。溶接した管状部材1a、lbを
外部に取出すため、クランプ装置3a、3b、外周支持
リング5a、5bおよび加熱装置4は、それぞれ開放可
能な二分割構造として形成する。

Claims (1)

  1. 【特許請求の範囲】 1、熱可塑性材料から成る管状部材の溶接方法において
    、管状部材の端部の外周および端面を輻射熱により少な
    くとも軟化点まで非接触で加熱する第1工程、二つの予
    熱した支持リングを端部の外周面上で相互に接近移動さ
    せ、その直後に管状部材の端部を制御された所定の条件
    下で突合わせる第2工程、並びに、拡張可能な支持体を
    突合わせた端部の内壁に対して押圧すると共に溶接の完
    了後に復元変形させて管状部材から外部に引出す第3工
    程を具えることを特徴とする溶接方法。 2、請求項1記載の方法を実施するため、管状部材(1
    a、1b)を同軸線上で相互に接近移動させうるクラン
    プ装置(3a、3b)を具える溶接装置において、輻射
    熱を発生する環状の加熱装置(4)と、相対的に移動さ
    せうる加熱可能な外周支持リング(5a、5b)と、拡
    張可能な内周支持装置(6)とを具えることを特徴とす
    る溶接装置。 3、請求項2記載の溶接装置において、加熱装置(4)
    および外周支持リング(5a、5b)は、管状部材(1
    a、1b)の軸線方向で2分割構造の開放可能なものと
    して形成したことを特徴とする溶接装置。 4、請求項2または3記載の溶接装置において、内周支
    持装置(6)は、引出し部材(7)を具える弾性ブラダ
    ー(8)として形成したことを特徴とする装置。
