Description

本発明は、連続供給される帯状シートを円筒状に形成し、重なり合う部分をシールして包装体を製造する包装製造装置に関する。
連続供給される帯状フィルムを筒状に成形し、重畳部を溶着して溶着線を形成し、溶着直後に筒状フィルム内に配置した筒状フィルムの径の大きい径を有する拡張リングによりフィルムに断面張力を与えて重畳部の溶着状態を調整する構成が知られている(特許文献1参照)。
特公平8-25543号公報
しかし、特許文献1の構成では、径の大きい拡張リングが筒状フィルムの内周面に摺接するため包装材に大きな負荷が掛かり、より大きな力がフィルムを送り出すのに必要となる。また、これによりフィルムにもより大きな負担が掛かる。
本発明は、連続走行され筒状に成形されるシート状の包装材の溶着部のシール不良を、包装材に大きな負荷を掛けることなく検出することを課題としている。
本発明の第1の発明である包装体製造装置は、筒状に形成されたシート状の包装材の重なり部をシール手段により溶着して包装体を製造する包装体製造装置において、筒状に形成される包装材を案内するガイド部材と、前記シール手段の下流において、溶着された包装材の溶着部に沿って前記ガイド部材に揺動可能に取り付けられる検出片と、前記検出片を前記ガイド部材の外方へ付勢する付勢手段と、前記検出片が前記付勢手段の付勢力により溶着部よりも外側に押し出されたことを検出する検出手段とを備えることを特徴としている。
本発明の第2の発明である包装体製造装置は、第1の発明において、前記検出片が溶着部よりも外側に押し出されると溶着部にシール不良が発生したと判断する判定手段を備えることを特徴としている。
本発明の第3の発明である包装体製造装置は、第1の発明または第2の発明において、前記検出手段が、前記検出片の先端が接近したことを検出する近接センサであることを特徴としている。
本発明の第4の発明である包装体製造装置は、第3の発明において、前記検出片の先端を溶着部に向けて凸状に形成したことを特徴としている。
本発明によれば、連続走行され筒状に成形されるシート状の包装材の溶着部のシール不良を、包装材に大きな負荷を掛けることなく検出することができる。
本発明の一実施形態である包装体製造装置の斜視図である。 図1の包装材が円筒形に巻かれたガイド部周辺の正面図および側面図である。 検出ドグの2つの状態を示す拡大側面図である。 検出ドグが押し出された状態のガイド部材周辺の側面図である。 変形例の検出ドグを用いたガイド部周辺の側面図である。
以下、本発明の実施の形態を、図面を参照して説明する。図1は、本発明の一実施形態である包装体製造装置の斜視図である。図2(a)は、包装座が円筒形に巻かれたガイド部周辺の正面図であり、図2(b)はその側面図である。
本実施形態の包装体製造装置10は、連続供給されるシート状の不織布である包装材Sを円筒形のガイド部材12の周りに巻き付け、縦方向の重なり部分を溶断(縦シール)して円筒状の包装体を成形し、その後包装体の横方向を溶断、内容物の充填、横方向の溶断を行って四面体形状の抽出バッグを製造する装置であり、このような装置は例えば特許第5240482号などにより従来公知である(なお、ここで溶断とは、溶着すると同時に切断することである)。本実施形態において、ガイド部材12は包装体に充填される内容物を包装体内に供給するための充填ノズルの機能も果たす。例えば、直立して配置されるガイド部材12の上端には内容物をガイド部材12内に供給するホッパ14が配置される。
ガイド部材12の上方部には、側方から帯状のシートとして供給される包装材Sを折り曲げ、ガイド部材12の周囲に沿って巻き付ける周知のフォーマーガイド16が、ガイド部材12の周囲を取り囲むように配置される。側方から供給される包装材Sは、フォーマーガイド16により下方に向けて折り曲げられるとともに、円筒状のガイド部材12の周りを取り囲むように巻き付けられ、円筒状に成形される。このとき帯状の包装材Sの両側辺は、内側面同士を密接させるように、ガイド部材12の長手方向に沿って重ね代分、所定幅で重ね合わされる(重なり部)。そして、包装材Sは同状態を維持したまま、ガイド部材12に沿って下方へ送り出される。
フォーマーガイド16の下方(下流)にあって、包装材Sの重なり部に対応する位置には、ガイド部材12に隣接してシール装置(シール手段)18が配置される。シール装置18は、例えば重なり部を溶断するための装置であり、超音波ホーン18Aと、これに対向するアンビル18Bを備える。超音波ホーン18Aとアンビル18Bは、ガイド部材12に沿って走行する包装材Sの重なり部を両側から挟むように配置される。包装材Sの重なり部は、超音波ホーン18Aとアンビル18Bの間を通ることで溶断される(溶着部M)。
また、本実施形態のガイド部材12には、シール装置18よりも下方(下流)であって、包装材Sの溶着部Mに対応する位置に、検出ドグ(検出片)20が設けられる。図3(a)、図3(b)は、検出ドグ20の2つの状態を示す拡大側面図である。
検出ドグ20は、溶着部Mに沿うように、ガイド部材12の長手方向に沿って配置される。検出ドグ20の上端部(上流端)は水平軸を中心に揺動可能にガイド部材12の側面に取り付けられ、下端部(下流端)を外側に押し出すように不図示の付勢部材により付勢される。図3(a)には、検出ドグ20が付勢力により外側に押し出された状態が示され、図3(b)には、検出ドグ20を付勢力に抗してガイド部材12に押し当てた状態が示される。なお、検出ドグ20の上端部には溶着部Mに向かって揺動した際(図3(a)の状態)にガイド部材12と当接して揺動する角度を規制する当接部20Aが形成される。
図4はガイド部材周辺の側面図であり、円筒状に成形された包装材Sの溶着部Mから検出ドグが突出された状態が示される。検出ドグ20の下端部と略同じ高さには、ガイド部材12から所定距離離れた位置に検出ドグ20と対向するように近接センサ22が配置される。近接センサ22は、検出ドグ20の下端部が接近したことを検知することで、検出ドグ20が外側に押し出されたことを検知する(検出手段)。近接センサ22からの信号は、図示しない制御部に送られる。
また、検出ドグ20の下端部と略同じ高さには、筒状に形成された包装材Sをガイド部材12に沿って下方へ送り出す一対の送りローラ24が配置される。一対の送りローラ24は、例えば図2(a)の正面図において、ガイド部材12を左右から挟むように配置され、水平軸周りに互いに反対向きに同じ速度で回転される。ガイド部材12を取り囲む円筒状の包装材Sは、ガイド部材12の両側において、ガイド部材12と送りローラ24の間に挟まれ、送りローラ24と同期して下方へと送り出される。
なお、ガイド部材12の下端部よりも下流側には、円筒状に成形された包装材Sを長手方向軸を横切るように挟み込み溶断(横シール)する横シール装置が設けられ、横シールを行った後、ガイド部材12内を通して内容物を供給し、このシール部の上に溜まった内容物の上方をさらに横シールを行うことで内容物を、四面体形状の抽出バッグに密封した包装体を製造する。なお、本実施形態において内容物は、例えば緑茶や紅茶などである。
シール装置18により、重なり部(重ね代)が適正に溶着されている場合、検出ドグ20は、付勢力に抗して円筒状の包装材S内に抑え込まれ、ガイド部材12の長手方向に略沿って配置されるが、適正に溶着されていない場合には、検出ドグ20の下端部が回転付勢力により包装材Sの両側縁部(重なり部)の間を外側に向けて押し出される。これにより、検出ドグ20の下端部が近接センサ22により検知され、制御部は溶着部Mにシール不良が発生したと判断する(判定手段)。
以上のように、本実施形態によれば、連続走行され筒状に成形されるシート状の包装材の溶着部のシール不良を、包装材に大きな負荷を掛けることなく検出することができる。
次に図5の側面図を参照して、本実施形態の変形例について説明する。変形例では、検出ドグの形状が実施形態と異なり、その他の構成は実施形態と同様であるため、同一の参照符号を用い、その説明を省略する。
図5に示されるように、変形例の検出ドグ26は、下端部に溶着部Mに向けて凸状に突出する突起部26Aを備える。突起部26Aの先端は、円筒状の包装材Sの内周面との摩擦が小さくなるように、例えば円弧状に形成される。突起部26Aは、溶着部Mに小さな穴しか開いていない場合でも、包装材Sから突出して近接センサ22により検出することができるので、より高精度にシール不良を検出することが可能となる。
なお、本実施形態では、不織布を包装材として、茶葉や紅茶などの内容物を収容した四面体形状の抽出バッグを製造する装置で説明したが、これに限るものではなく、樹脂製のシートを用いて液体を収容した三方シールや四方シールの袋状に密封した包装体を製造する装置などでも良い。

Claims (4)

  1. 筒状に形成されたシート状の包装材の重なり部をシール手段により溶着して包装体を製造する包装体製造装置において、
    筒状に形成される包装材を案内するガイド部材と、
    前記シール手段の下流において、溶着された包装材の溶着部に沿って前記ガイド部材に揺動可能に取り付けられる検出片と、
    前記検出片を前記ガイド部材の外方へ付勢する付勢手段と、
    前記検出片が前記付勢手段の付勢力により溶着部よりも外側に押し出されたことを検出する検出手段と
    を備えることを特徴とする包装体製造装置。
  2. 前記検出片が溶着部よりも外側に押し出されると溶着部にシール不良が発生したと判断する判定手段を備えることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の包装体製造装置。
  3. 前記検出手段が、前記検出片の先端が接近したことを検出する近接センサであることを特徴とする請求項1または請求項2に記載の包装体製造装置。
  4. 前記検出片の先端を溶着部に向けて凸状に形成したことを特徴とする請求項3に記載の包装体製造装置。
