(2)前記第一の磁性層及び前記第二の磁性層は、それぞれ厚さが2nm以上であり、前記第二の磁性層の厚さは、前記第一の磁性層の厚さよりも小さいことを特徴とする(1)に記載の熱アシスト磁気記録媒体。
(3)前記L10構造を有する合金は、Rh、Ru、Ir及びCuからなる群より選択される一種以上の金属を2mol%~10mol%の範囲内で含むことを特徴とする(1)または(2)に記載の熱アシスト磁気記録媒体。
(4)(1)~(3)の何れか1項に記載の熱アシスト磁気記録媒体を有することを特徴とする磁気記憶装置。
図1に、本実施形態の熱アシスト磁気記録媒体の層構成の一例を示す。
本実施形態の磁気記憶装置は、本実施形態の熱アシスト磁気記録媒体を有していれば、特に限定されない。
ガラス基板上に、厚さ100nmのCr-50at%Ti合金層(下地層)と、厚さ30nmのCo-27at%Fe-5at%Zr-5at%B合金層(軟磁性下地層)とを順次形成した。次に、ガラス基板を250℃まで加熱した後、厚さ10nmのCr層(下地層)と、厚さ5nmのMgO層(下地層)とを順次形成した。次に、ガラス基板を450℃まで加熱した後、厚さ0.5nmの(Fe-55at%Pt)-35体積%C合金層(第三の磁性層)と、厚さ4.5nmの(Fe-49at%Pt)-6.8体積%C-20.8体積%SiO2-13.3体積%BN合金層(第一の磁性層)と、厚さ3nmの(Fe-49at%Pt)-1.0体積%C-30.0体積%SiO2-10.0体積%BN合金層(第二の磁性層)と、厚さ3nmのカーボン(C)層(保護層)を順次形成し、熱アシスト磁気記録媒体を作製した。
第一の磁性層及び第二の磁性層の組成を、表1、2に示すように変更した以外は、実施例1と同様にして、熱アシスト磁気記録媒体を作製した。
AFMを用いて、熱アシスト磁気記録媒体のRaを測定した。
Kerr磁気測定装置(ネオアーク社製)を用いて、保護層を形成する前の熱アシスト磁気記録媒体のHcを測定した。
図3の磁気ヘッドを用いて、線記録密度1600kFCI(kilo Flux changes per Inch)の信号を記録して、熱アシスト磁気記録媒体のSNRを測定した。

Claims (4)
- 基板と、下地層と、L10構造を有する合金を含む磁性層とを、この順で有し、
前記磁性層は、前記基板の側から、第一の磁性層と、第二の磁性層を有し、
前記第一の磁性層及び前記第二の磁性層は、それぞれ、グラニュラ構造を有し、粒界部に、C、SiO2及びBNを含み、
前記第一の磁性層及び前記第二の磁性層は、それぞれ、前記粒界部の体積分率が25体積%~45体積%の範囲内であり、
前記第一の磁性層は、前記Cの体積分率が5体積%~22体積%の範囲内であり、
前記第一の磁性層及び前記第二の磁性層は、それぞれ、前記BNに対する前記SiO2の体積比が0.25~3.5の範囲内であり、
前記第二の磁性層の前記SiO2の体積分率は、前記第一の磁性層の前記SiO2の体積分率よりも5体積%以上大きく、
前記第二の磁性層の前記BNの体積分率は、前記第一の磁性層の前記BNの体積分率よりも2体積%以上小さいことを特徴とする熱アシスト磁気記録媒体。 - 前記第一の磁性層及び前記第二の磁性層は、それぞれ厚さが2nm以上であり、
前記第二の磁性層の厚さは、前記第一の磁性層の厚さよりも小さいことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の熱アシスト磁気記録媒体。 - 前記L10構造を有する合金は、Rh、Ru、Ir及びCuからなる群より選択される一種以上の金属を2mol%~10mol%の範囲内で含むことを特徴とする請求項1または2に記載の熱アシスト磁気記録媒体。
- 請求項1~3の何れか1項に記載の熱アシスト磁気記録媒体を有することを特徴とする磁気記憶装置。
