Description
(1)
基板と、下地層と、L10型結晶構造を有する合金を主成分とする磁性層とをこの順で有するアシスト磁気記録媒体であって、前記アシスト磁気記録媒体は、前記磁性層に接したピニング層を有し、前記ピニング層はCo又はCoを主成分とする合金を含むことを特徴とするアシスト磁気記録媒体。

前記ピニング層は前記磁性層に磁気情報を書き込んだ際の磁性粒子の磁化方向をピン止めする機能を有することを特徴とする(1)に記載のアシスト磁気記録媒体。
(3)
前記ピニング層を構成する磁性材料のキュリー温度(PTc)と、前記磁性層を構成する磁性材料のキュリー温度(MTc)との差(PTc-MTc)が、200K以上であることを特徴とする(1)又は(2)のいずれかに記載のアシスト磁気記録媒体。

前記ピニング層は、Co又はCoを主成分とする合金と、SiO2、Cr2O3、TiO2、B2O3、GeO2、MgO、Ta2O5、CoO、Co3O4、FeO、Fe2O3、及びFe3O4からなる群から選択される少なくとも1種類の酸化物を含むグラニュラー構造を有することを特徴とする(1)~(3)のいずれかに記載のアシスト磁気記録媒体。

前記ピニング層の層厚が0.5nm以上5nm以下であることを特徴とする(1)~(4)のいずれかに記載のアシスト磁気記録媒体。

前記ピニング層を、前記磁性層の前記基板とは反対の側に有することを特徴とする(1)~(5)のいずれかに記載のアシスト磁気記録媒体。

(1)~(6)のいずれかに記載のアシスト磁気記録媒体と、前記アシスト磁気記録媒体を回転させるための磁気記録媒体駆動部と、前記アシスト磁気記録媒体に対する記録動作と再生動作とを行う磁気ヘッドと、前記磁気ヘッドを移動させるための磁気ヘッド駆動部と、記録再生信号処理系とを含む磁気記憶装置。
磁気記憶装置の構成例について説明する。
アシスト磁気記録媒体100(図1参照)を作製した。以下に、アシスト磁気記録媒体100の製造工程を説明する。
磁気ヘッド102(図3参照)を用いて、線記録密度1500kFCIのオールワンパターン信号をアシスト磁気記録媒体に記録し、ノイズとSNRを測定した。ここで、レーザーダイオードに投入するパワーは、トラックプロファイルの半値幅と定義したトラック幅MWWが60nmとなるように調整した。(PTc-MTc)の値からピニング効果をA、B、Cで評価した。Aは特に好ましいピニング効果が得られる場合、Bは実用レベルのピニング効果が得られる場合、Cは十分なピニング効果が得られない場合を示す。評価結果を表1に示す。
表1のように製造条件を変更した以外は実施例1と同様にアシスト磁気記録媒体を製造した。ピニング層において合金を構成する元素の前に付いた数値はat%であり、酸化物の前に付いた数値はmol%である。評価結果を表1に示す。

Claims (6)
- 基板と、下地層と、L10型結晶構造を有する合金を主成分とする磁性層とをこの順で有するアシスト磁気記録媒体であって、前記アシスト磁気記録媒体は、前記磁性層に接したピニング層を有し、前記ピニング層はCo又はCoを主成分とする合金を含み、前記ピニング層を構成する磁性材料のキュリー温度(P Tc )と、前記磁性層を構成する磁性材料のキュリー温度(M Tc )との差(P Tc -M Tc )が、500K以上であることを特徴とするアシスト磁気記録媒体。
- 前記ピニング層は前記磁性層に磁気情報を書き込んだ際の磁性粒子の磁化方向をピン止めする機能を有することを特徴とする請求項1に記載のアシスト磁気記録媒体。
- 前記ピニング層は、Co又はCoを主成分とする合金と、SiO2、Cr2O3、TiO2、B2O3、GeO2、MgO、Ta2O5、CoO、Co3O4、FeO、Fe2O3、及びFe3O4からなる群から選択される少なくとも1種類の酸化物を含むグラニュラー構造を有することを特徴とする請求項1又は2のいずれかに記載のアシスト磁気記録媒体。
- 前記ピニング層の層厚が0.5nm以上5nm以下であることを特徴とする請求項1~3のいずれか1項に記載のアシスト磁気記録媒体。
- 前記ピニング層を、前記磁性層の前記基板とは反対の側に有することを特徴とする請求項1~4のいずれか1項に記載のアシスト磁気記録媒体。
- 請求項1~5のいずれか1項に記載のアシスト磁気記録媒体と、前記アシスト磁気記録媒体を回転させるための磁気記録媒体駆動部と、前記アシスト磁気記録媒体に対する記録動作と再生動作とを行う磁気ヘッドと、前記磁気ヘッドを移動させるための磁気ヘッド駆動部と、記録再生信号処理系とを含む磁気記憶装置。
