(2)前記第1の磁性層は、厚さが0.5nm~3nmの範囲内であり、前記第2の磁性層の厚さは、前記第1の磁性層の厚さの2倍以上であることを特徴とする(1)に記載の熱アシスト磁気記録媒体。
(3)前記第2の磁性層は、前記磁性粒子の粒界部に、C、SiC、VC、B4C、Si3N4、VN、BN、TiNおよびAlNからなる群より選択される物質をさらに含むことを特徴とする(1)または(2)に記載の熱アシスト磁気記録媒体。
(4)前記第2の磁性層は、前記フェライトの含有量が0.5体積%~60体積%の範囲内であることを特徴とする(1)~(3)の何れか1項に記載の熱アシスト磁気記録媒体。
(5)前記L10構造を有する合金は、FePt合金またはCoPt合金であることを特徴とする(1)~(4)の何れか1項に記載の熱アシスト磁気記録媒体。
(6)(1)~(5)の何れか1項に記載の熱アシスト磁気記録媒体を有することを特徴とする磁気記憶装置。
図1に、本実施形態の熱アシスト磁気記録媒体の層構成の一例を示す。
本実施形態の磁気記憶装置は、本実施形態の熱アシスト磁気記録媒体を有していれば、特に限定されない。
耐熱ガラス基板上に、厚さ50nmのCr-50at%Ti(Crの含有量50at%、Tiの含有量50at%)合金層(下地層)、厚さ25nmのCo-20at%Ta-5at%B合金層(軟磁性下地層)を形成し、250℃まで加熱した。その後、厚さ10nmのCr層(下地層)、厚さ10nmのMgO層(下地層)を形成した後、520℃まで加熱した。その後、厚さ0.5nmの第1の磁性層、厚さ6.0nmの第2の磁性層を形成した後、厚さ3nmのカーボン層(保護層)を形成した。最後に、保護層上に、パーフルオロポリエーテル系の潤滑剤を塗布して潤滑剤層を形成し、熱アシスト磁気記録媒体を得た。
図2の磁気記憶装置に熱アシスト磁気記録媒体を組み込んだ後、図3の磁気ヘッドを用いて、熱アシスト磁気記録媒体を加熱し、線記録密度1600kFCI(kilo Flux changes per Inch)の信号を記録し、SN比(SNR)を測定した。
第1の磁性層の厚さを1.0nmに変更し、第1の磁性層、第2の磁性層を構成する材料を変更した(表2参照)以外は、実施例1-1~1-8、比較例1-1と同様にして、熱アシスト磁気記録媒体を得た。

Claims (6)
- 基板と、下地層と、(001)配向している磁性層を有し、
前記磁性層は、前記下地層の側から、第1の磁性層および第2の磁性層がこの順で積層されており、
前記第1の磁性層および前記第2の磁性層は、L10構造を有する合金を含み、
前記第2の磁性層は、磁性粒子の粒界部に、フェライトを含み、
前記フェライトは、NiFe2O4、MgFe2O4、MnFe2O4、CuFe2O4、ZnFe2O3、CoFe2O4、BaFe2O4、SrFe2O4およびFe3O4からなる群より選択される1種以上であり、
前記磁性粒子のキュリー温度は、前記フェライトのキュリー温度よりも低いことを特徴とする熱アシスト磁気記録媒体。 - 前記第1の磁性層は、厚さが0.3nm~5.0nmの範囲内であり、
前記第2の磁性層は、厚さが1.0nm~10.0nmの範囲内であることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の熱アシスト磁気記録媒体。 - 前記第2の磁性層は、前記磁性粒子の粒界部に、C、SiC、VC、B4C、Si3N4、VN、BN、TiNおよびAlNからなる群より選択される物質をさらに含むことを特徴とする請求項1または2に記載の熱アシスト磁気記録媒体。
- 前記第2の磁性層は、前記フェライトの含有量が0.5体積%~60体積%の範囲内であることを特徴とする請求項1~3の何れか1項に記載の熱アシスト磁気記録媒体。
- 前記L10構造を有する合金は、Fe-Pt合金またはCo-Pt合金であることを特徴とする請求項1~4の何れか1項に記載の熱アシスト磁気記録媒体。
- 請求項1~5の何れか1項に記載の熱アシスト磁気記録媒体を有することを特徴とする磁気記憶装置。
