Description
本出願は、2018年12月10日に出願された韓国特許出願第10-2018-0158017号に基づいた優先権の利益を主張し、当該韓国特許出願の文献に開示された全ての内容は本明細書の一部として含まれる。
したがって、エネルギー密度及び容量特性に優れながらも高温寿命特性に優れた正極材の開発が要求されている。
先ず、本発明に係る正極材に対して説明する。
Lix[NiyCozAlwM1 v]O2
Lix[NiyCozAlwMnv]O2
Lia[NibCocM2 dM3 e]O2
前記のような本発明に係る正極材は、リチウム二次電池の正極の製造に有用に用いられてよい。
実施例1
平均粒径(D50)が5μmのLiNi0.81Co0.05Mn0.12Al0.02O2と平均粒径(D50)が15μmのLiNi0.83Co0.08Mn0.07Al0.02O2を2:8の重量比で混合し、正極材Aを形成した。
平均粒径(D50)が5μmのLiNi0.81Co0.08Mn0.09Al0.02O2と平均粒径(D50)が15μmのLiNi0.83Co0.08Mn0.07Al0.02O2を2:8の重量比で混合し、正極材Bを形成した。
平均粒径(D50)が5μmのLiNi0.81Co0.05Mn0.11Al0.03O2と平均粒径(D50)が15μmのLiNi0.83Co0.08Mn0.07Al0.02O2を2:8の重量比で混合し、正極材Cを形成した。
平均粒径(D50)が5μmのLiNi0.83Co0.11Mn0.6O2と平均粒径(D50)が15μmのLiNi0.83Co0.08Mn0.07Al0.02O2を2:8の重量比で混合し、正極材Dを形成した。
平均粒径(D50)が5μmのLiNi0.83Co0.05Mn0.08Al0.04O2と平均粒径(D50)が15μmのLiNi0.83Co0.08Mn0.07Al0.02O2を2:8の重量比で混合し、正極材Eを形成した。
平均粒径(D50)が5μmのLiNi0.82Co0.11Mn0.06Al0.01O2と平均粒径(D50)が15μmのLiNi0.83Co0.08Mn0.07Al0.02O2を2:8の重量比で混合し、正極材Fを形成した。
平均粒径(D50)が5μmのLiNi0.70Co0.15Mn0.10Al0.05O2と平均粒径(D50)が15μmのLiNi0.83Co0.08Mn0.07Al0.02O2を2:8の重量比で混合し、正極材Gを形成した。
平均粒径(D50)が5μmのLiNi0.86Co0.10Mn0.02Al0.02O2と平均粒径(D50)が15μmのLiNi0.83Co0.08Mn0.07Al0.02O2を2:8の重量比で混合し、正極材Hを形成した。
前記実施例1~3及び比較例1~5によって製造された正極材、カーボンブラック導電材及びPVdFバインダーを、N‐メチルピロリドン溶媒中で重量比で96.5:1.5:2.0の比率で混合して正極合剤を製造し、これをアルミニウム集電体の一面に塗布した後、130℃で乾燥後、圧延して正極を製造した。
前記のように、実施例1~3及び比較例1~5の正極材を用いて製造されたそれぞれのコインハーフセルに0.2Cの電流を加えて4.25Vまで充電した後、2.5Vまで放電してから、再び4.25Vまで0.2Cの電流で完全充電させた。その後、完全充電されたコインセルを分解して正極を回収し、回収された正極をジメチルカーボネートで30秒間洗浄して電極の表面に残っている電解液を除去し、乾燥させた。乾燥された電極を示差走査熱量測定装置(Setaram社製のHP‐DSC)のパン(pan)の大きさに合うように打ち抜き、前記コインセルに投入された電解液と同一の電解液20μLとともに前記パンに投入した後、パンをシーリングした。その後、25℃から400℃まで毎分10℃ずつ昇温しながら発熱量を測定した。
実施例1~3及び比較例1~5の正極材を用いて製造されたコインハーフセルに対して連続充電時の電流漏洩量を測定した。具体的には、前記コインハーフセルを50℃で0.2C/0.2Cの条件で充放電した後、CC‐CVモードで4.7Vとなるまで0.2Cで充電し、120時間に終了設定をした後、120時間の間の容量を時間で割って平均の漏洩電流(leak current)を求めた。測定の結果は、図2に示した。
<フルセルの製造>
実施例1~3及び比較例1~5により製造されたそれぞれの正極材とカーボンブラック導電材とPVdFバインダーをN‐メチルピロリドン溶媒中で96.5:1.5:2.0の重量比率で混合して正極合剤を製造し、これをアルミニウム集電体の一面に塗布した後、130℃で乾燥後、圧延して正極を製造した。
Claims (9)
- 平均粒径(D50)が異なる大粒径粒子及び小粒径粒子を含むバイモーダル粒度分布を有する正極材であり、
前記大粒径粒子は、全遷移金属のうちニッケルの含有量が80原子%以上のリチウム複合遷移金属酸化物であり、
前記小粒径粒子は、ニッケル、コバルト、及びアルミニウムを含み、全遷移金属のうちニッケルの含有量が80原子%から85原子%であり、アルミニウムに対するコバルトの原子の比率(Co/Al)が1.5から5のリチウム複合遷移金属酸化物であり、
前記小粒径粒子は、下記[化学式1]で表されるリチウム複合遷移金属酸化物であり、

前記化学式1中、前記M 1 は、Mn、W、Cu、Fe、Ba、V、Cr、Ti、Zr、Zn、In、Ta、Y、La、Sr、Ga、Sc、Gd、Sm、Ca、Ce、Nb、Mg、B、及びMoよりなる群から選択される1種以上であり、0.9≦x≦1.5、0.8≦y≦0.85、0<z≦0.1、0<w≦0.1、1.5≦z/w≦5、0≦v<0.2である、正極材。 - 前記化学式1中、前記M 1 がMnである、請求項1に記載の正極材。
- 前記大粒径粒子は、下記化学式3で表されるリチウム複合遷移金属酸化物であり、

前記化学式3中、前記M2は、Mn及びAlから選択される1種以上であり、前記M3は、W、Cu、Fe、Ba、V、Cr、Ti、Zr、Zn、In、Ta、Y、La、Sr、Ga、Sc、Gd、Sm、Ca、Ce、Nb、Mg、B、及びMoよりなる群から選択される1種以上であり、0.9≦a≦1.5、0.8≦b<1、0<c≦0.15、0<d<0.2、0≦e<0.2である、請求項1又は2に記載の正極材。 - 前記化学式3中、前記M2がAld1Mnd2であり、0.9≦a≦1.5、0.8≦b<1、0<c≦0.1、0<d1≦0.1、0<d2<0.2であり、1.5≦c/d1≦5である、請求項3に記載の正極材。
- 前記小粒径粒子の平均粒径(D50)が2から8μmである、請求項1から4のいずれか一項に記載の正極材。
- 前記大粒径粒子の平均粒径(D50)が10から20μmである、請求項1から5のいずれか一項に記載の正極材。
- 前記小粒径粒子と大粒径粒子が1:9から5:5の重量比率で含まれる、請求項1から6のいずれか一項に記載の正極材。
- 正極集電体と、前記正極集電体上に形成される正極活物質層を含み、
前記正極活物質層は、請求項1から7のいずれか一項に記載の正極材を含む、正極。 - 請求項8に記載の正極、

前記正極と前記負極との間に介在される分離膜、及び
