Description
この態様においては、回転する部材に与えるトルクを著しく低減することができる。
リップ32,34,36の面32A,34A,36Aは、同一の種類のグリースでコーティングした。このグリースは、増ちょう剤としてリチウムコンプレックス石けんを含み、40℃における基油動粘度が18mm2/s(JIS K 2283に準拠して測定)である。グリースリップ32の面32Aにコーティングしたグリースの量は0.17gであり、サイドリップ34の面34Aにコーティングしたグリースの量は0.2gであり、中間リップ36の面36Aにコーティングしたグリースの量は0.17gであった。
以上、本発明の実施形態を説明したが、上記の説明は本発明を限定するものではなく、本発明の技術的範囲において、構成要素の削除、追加、置換を含む様々な変形例が考えられる。
密封装置のリップの形状および数は、上記のものに限定されない。複数のサイドリップが設けられる場合には、半径方向において最も外側にあるサイドリップの接触面に対する接触幅が0.041mm未満であることが好ましく、0.035mm以下であることがさらに好ましく、0.033mm以下であることがさらに好ましい。

Claims (4)
- 相対的に回転する内側部材と外側部材とを備え、前記内側部材は円筒部分と前記円筒部分から径方向外側に広がるフランジとを有し、前記内側部材の前記円筒部分と前記フランジは螺旋溝状の加工痕を有する転がり軸受の前記内側部材と前記外側部材との間に配置され、前記内側部材と前記外側部材との間の間隙を封止する密封装置であって、
前記転がり軸受の前記外側部材に取り付けられる取付け部と、
前記取付け部から半径方向内側に延びる内側環状部分と、
前記内側環状部分から前記転がり軸受の前記内側部材の前記円筒部分に向けて延びる弾性材料から形成されたグリースリップと、
前記内側環状部分から前記転がり軸受の前記内側部材の前記フランジに向けて延び、前記螺旋溝状の加工痕を有する前記フランジに摺動可能に接触する弾性材料から形成されたサイドリップと、
前記内側環状部分から前記転がり軸受の前記内側部材に向けて延び、前記グリースリップと前記サイドリップの中間に配置され、前記サイドリップの径方向内側に重なり、前記螺旋溝状の加工痕を有する前記内側部材に摺動可能に接触する弾性材料から形成された薄板状の中間リップと
を備え、
前記サイドリップと前記中間リップとの間の空間から前記フランジに形成された前記螺旋溝状の加工痕を通じて前記サイドリップの外側に流体が送り出されて前記空間が負圧になり、前記サイドリップが前記フランジに対して滑って前記サイドリップと前記フランジとの間に隙間が瞬間的に生じて前記空間に空気が侵入するようになっており、
前記転がり軸受に密封装置を装着した場合、密封装置の半径方向における前記サイドリップの面と前記フランジの面の接触長さである、前記サイドリップの前記フランジに対する接触幅が0.041mm未満である
ことを特徴とする密封装置。 - 前記転がり軸受に密封装置を装着した場合、前記サイドリップの前記フランジに対する接触幅が0.035mm以下である
ことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の密封装置。 - 前記転がり軸受に密封装置を装着した場合、前記サイドリップの前記フランジに対する接触幅が0.033mm以下である
ことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の密封装置。 - 複数の前記サイドリップを備え、転がり軸受に密封装置を装着した場合、最も径方向外側に配置されたサイドリップの前記フランジに対する接触幅が0.041mm未満である
ことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の密封装置。
