Description
本発明の適切な実施例によれば、前記セラミック粉末は、アルミナ(Al2O3)、二酸化チタン(TiO2)、二酸化ジルコニウム(ZrO2)、二酸化ケイ素(SiO2)、酸化スズ(SnO2)、酸化セリウム(CeO2)、酸化マグネシウム(MgO)、酸化カルシウム(CaO)及びイットリア(Y2O3)の中から選ばれた1種または2種以上であり得る。
また、本発明は、前記前リチウム化方法を適用して製造された二次電池用負極、前記負極を含む二次電池を提供する。
本発明で提供する前リチウム化の方法で製造された二次電池用負極は、初期不可逆性が改善された特性を有し、このような二次電池用負極を用いて製造した二次電池は、優れた充放電効率を有する。
<リチウム金属-Al2O3複合体薄膜の製造方法>
リチウムイオンを摂氏180度以上の温度で十分に溶融させてモルテン(molten)リチウムを準備した後、粒径0.5~1.0μmのAl2O3粉末を投入し、攪拌させて混合物を製造した。この時、溶融されたリチウムとAl2O3の割合は体積比でリチウムは75体積%、Al2O3は25体積%に調節した。製造した溶融リチウム-Al2O3混合物をギャップ(gap)が100μmの枠で押出させ、常温まで冷却して厚さ100μmのリチウム金属-Al2O3リボンを製造した。前記リチウム金属-Al2O3リボンを5μmの厚さに圧延して、リチウム金属-Al2O3薄膜を製造した。
<負極の製造>
負極活物質としてSiO 92重量%、デンカブラック(Denka Black、導電剤)3重量%およびSBR(結合剤)3.5重量%、およびCMC(増粘剤)1.5重量%を水に添加して負極混合物スラリーを製造した。銅集電体の一面に前記負極混合物スラリーをコーティングし、これを乾燥及び圧延した後、一定の大きさでパンチングして負極を製造した。
<負極の表面にリチウム金属-Al2O3複合膜の形成>
前記SiO負極に前記の用意された厚さ5μmのリチウム金属-Al2O3複合薄膜をラミネーション方法で表面に形成させて電極を準備した。
<リチウム二次電池の製造>
カウンター(counter)電極にリチウム金属箔(150μm)を使用し、前記負極と前記カウンター電極との間にポリオレフィンセパレータを介在させた後、エチレンカーボネート(EC)、エチルメチルカーボネート(DEC)を50:50の体積比で混合した溶媒に1Mの六フッ化リン酸リチウム(LiPF6)が溶解された電解液を注入してコイン型ハーフ電池を製造した。
リチウム金属-Al2O3リボンの厚さを150μm、リチウム金属-Al2O3薄膜の厚さを5μmに変更したことを除いては、実施例1と同様の方法で電池を製造した。
リチウム金属-Al2O3リボンの厚さを200μm、リチウム金属-Al2O3薄膜の厚さを10μmに変更したことを除いては、実施例1と同様の方法で電池を製造した。
モルテンリチウムにAl2O3粉末と一緒に、SBR系のバインダー(Al2O3 100重量部に対し、6重量部)を投入したことを除いては、実施例1と同様の方法で電池を製造した。
モルテンリチウムにAl2O3粉末と一緒に、ポリアクリルエクシード(PAA)系バインダー(Al2O3 100重量部に対し、8重量部)を投入したことを除いては、実施例1と同様の方法で電池を製造した。
溶融されたリチウムとAl2O3の割合をリチウム78体積%、Al2O3 22体積%に調節したことを除いては、前記実施例1と同様の方法で電池を製造した。
負極に前記実施例1の平均厚さ5μmのリチウム金属-Al2O3複合層が形成されたSiO電極の代わりに何の処理もしていないSiO電極を使用したことを除いては、実施例1と同様の方法で電池を製造した。
溶融されたリチウムに粉末状のMgOを入れて、これを混合した(リチウム及びMgO粒子の重量比は8:2)。アルゴン保護ガス環境で、前記のMgOが混合された溶融リチウムを押出コーティング機に移送させ、実施例1のSiO負極表面に混合溶融リチウムを厚さ5μmになるようにコーティングした後、常温で冷却させた。その後、実施例1と同様の方法で電池を製造した。
前記比較例2からMgOの代わりにAl2O3粒子を溶融されたリチウムに混合したことを除いては、比較例2と同様の方法で電池を製造した。
前記比較例2からコーティング厚さを10μmに調節した点を除いては、比較例2と同様の方法で電池を製造した。
前記比較例3からコーティング厚さを10μmに調節した点を除いては、比較例3と同様の方法で電池を製造した。
前記比較例2からコーティング時にアルゴン保護ガス雰囲気を形成していなかったという点を除いては、比較例2と同様の方法で電池を製造した。

前記実施例及び比較例で製造したコイン型ハーフ電池を電気化学充放電器を利用して充放電可逆性のテストを行った。一番目サイクルの充電時0.005V(vs.Li/Li+)の電圧まで0.1C-レート(rate)の電流密度で電流を加えて充電し、放電時に同じ電流密度で1.5V(vs.Li/Li+)の電圧まで放電を実施した。この時、充電容量と放電容量を測定したし、その比率(放電容量/充電容量*100)を計算して、表1に示した。

分析試験(differential scanning calorimetry)をするために実施例及び比較例のコイン型ハーフ電池を前記のように1サイクル充放電後、2回目のサイクルで0.005Vまで充電して活性化させた負極を掻き出した。このように得られた充填された負極パウダー13mgに電解液0.1mlを添加してDSC装置(mettle Toledo)にローデングした。このようにローデングされたサンプルを10℃/minの昇温速度で加熱しながらカロリーを測定し、その結果を表1に示した。

Claims (7)
- 溶融されたリチウムに無機物粉末を投入して混合物を作る第1段階と、
前記混合物を押出した後、冷却して厚さ100~200μmのリチウム金属-無機物複合体リボンを製造する第2段階と、
前記リチウム金属-無機物複合体リボンを圧延して、リチウム金属-無機物複合体薄膜を製造する第3段階と、及び
負極の表面に、前記リチウム金属-無機物複合体薄膜を載せ、リチウム金属-無機物複合層を形成する第4段階と、を含む方法で作成した負極を用いる負極の前リチウム化方法であって、
前記無機物粉末はアルミナ(Al 2 O 3 )、二酸化チタン(TiO 2 )、二酸化ジルコニウム(ZrO 2 )、二酸化ケイ素(SiO 2 )、酸化スズ(SnO 2 )、酸化セリウム(CeO 2 )、酸化マグネシウム(MgO)、酸化カルシウム(CaO)及びイットリア(Y 2 O 3 )の中から選ばれた1種または2種以上である、負極の前リチウム化方法。 - 前記リチウム金属-無機物複合体薄膜の厚さは1~50μmであることを特徴とする、請求項1に記載の二次電池用負極の前リチウム化方法。
- 溶融されたリチウムと無機物粉末の混合割合は、リチウム70~85体積%、無機物15~30体積%であることを特徴とする、請求項1または2に記載の負極の前リチウム化方法。
- 溶融されたリチウムに無機物粉末の他、バインダーをさらに混合することを特徴とする、請求項1から3の何れか一項に記載の負極の前リチウム化方法。
- 前記リチウム金属-無機物複合層は、初期活性化充電の後には、金属形態のリチウムとして残っていないことを特徴とする、請求項1から4の何れか一項に記載の二次電池用負極の前リチウム化方法。
- 前記無機物粉末の粒径は0.1~10μmであることを特徴とする、請求項1から5の何れか一項に記載の二次電池用負極の前リチウム化方法。
- 前記負極は、シリコン酸化物を含むことを特徴とする、請求項1から6の何れか一項に記載の二次電池用負極の前リチウム化方法。
