Description
まず、図1から図3には、本発明の実施例1に係る、光源装置を用いた車両用のヘッドライト装置を、その斜視図および断面図により示している。図1(a)は、本発明の車両用のヘッドライト装置100を搭載した車両1の全体を示しており、図1(b)は、当該車両のヘッドライト装置部分の拡大図を示している。図2(a)は、上記ヘッドライト装置100の全体斜視図であり、図2(b)は、その内部構成を展開した状態で示している。また、図3は、上記ヘッドライト装置100の側面断面を示している。これらの図からも明らかなように、ヘッドライト装置100は、基本的には、本発明の光源装置である可視光照明ユニット10と、当該照明ユニットからの出射照明光を車両1の前方空間、および車両1が走行する路面上に照射するための光学系である、いわゆる、プロジェクタレンズ50から構成されている。
まず、上記でその基本的な構成を述べた車両用のヘッドライト装置100において、更に、映像表示素子である液晶パネル(LCDパネル)20を設けることによれば、当該パネルを構成するLCDパネル(液晶表示素子)20のオン/オフを制御することによって配光を細かく制御することで、対向車線を走行する車や同一車線を走行する車への眩惑を抑制しつつ、遠方の視認性を確保した照明が可能となる。更には、自車両の走行速度や方向などを含めた運転状態を示す情報やその他の車両の運転に関する各種の情報を、照明光を利用して、路上に表示することも可能となる。
更に、図12には、上記実施例1の構成に加えて、ヘッドライト装置の内部において、シェード60を設けた構成の例を示す。なお、このシェード60は、車両がすれ違う際に発生する、自動車用灯具からの光線が互いにすれ違うビーム(いわゆる、ロービーム)に対して要求されるヘッドライトカットライン(配光)を形成することを可能にするものである。図にも示すように、このシェード60は、遮光部材により所定の形状に形成した部材によって構成されており、プロジェクタレンズ50の焦点近傍に配置されて固定される。
更に、図13には、上記実施例1の構成の変形として、LCDパネル20に対して、光源装置である可視光照明ユニット10が小さい場合の構成例を示す。
LCDパネル20に対して可視光照明ユニット10が小さい場合には、自由曲面レンズ15により、偏光変換素子14から照射される略平行光を、LCDパネル20のサイズに合わせて絞り込む必要がある。図13において、自由曲面レンズ15は、入射面と出射面をそれぞれ凸形状とすると共に、偏光変換素子とLCDパネル20の距離を長くとることで、絞り込みを実現している。また、小さなLCDパネル20からの光を、プロジェクタレンズ50を介して、広い配光角で光を放射するために、プロジェクタレンズ50の焦点距離を短くし、LCDパネル20とプロジェクタレンズ50の距離を短くしている。
Claims (10)
- 車両の一部に取り付けられて前記車両が走行する路面上に照明光を照射する車両用ヘッドライト装置であって、
前記照明光を発生する光源装置と、
前記光源装置の光軸上に配置され、前記光源装置からの前記照明光が所望の配光分布を形成するように投射するレンズと、を備えており、
前記光源装置は、
白色光を放射する1つまたは複数の半導体光源素子と、
前記半導体光源素子の各々の発光軸上に配置され、固体光源である前記半導体光源素子の各々から出射された光を略平行光に変換する1つまたは複数のコリメータを有するコリメータ部と、
前記コリメータ部の出射面側の前記半導体光源素子及び前記コリメータごとに設けられ、入射光を所定の偏光波に変換する偏光変換素子と、を含んでおり、
前記光源装置の前記偏光変換素子から出射される前記照明光を、前記レンズを介して所定の方向に照射するように構成されている、ヘッドライト装置。 - 請求項1に記載のヘッドライト装置において、
前記レンズより出射される照射光は、前記路面に対して垂直な平面上で振動するp偏光波である、ヘッドライト装置。 - 請求項1に記載のヘッドライト装置において、

前記赤外光発光手段は、赤外光を放射する1つまたは複数の半導体赤外素子と、前記半導体赤外素子の各々の発光軸上に配置され、前記半導体赤外素子から出射された光を略平行光に変換する1つまたは複数の赤外コリメータを有する赤外コリメータ部と、から構成されている、ヘッドライト装置。 - 請求項8に記載のヘッドライト装置において、
前記偏光変換素子と前記レンズを結ぶ光軸上に配置された映像表示素子を備えており、
前記映像表示素子と前記レンズの間には、更に、偏光ミラーが、その出射面を下方に所定の角度を傾けて設置されており、前記赤外光発光手段は、出射する赤外光を前記偏光ミラーの出射面で反射して、前記レンズを介して所定の方向に照射するように構成されている、ヘッドライト装置。 - 請求項1に記載のヘッドライト装置において、
前記コリメータ部を構成する前記コリメータの各々は、透光性の樹脂により形成され、略放物断面を回転して得られる円錐凸形状の外周面を有すると共に、その中央部にレンズ面を形成した凹部を有する、ヘッドライト装置。
