Description
(a)炭化水素置換基、つまり、脂肪族(例えば、アルキルまたはアルケニル)、脂環式(例えば、シクロアルキル、シクロアルケニル)置換基、及び芳香族、脂肪族、及び脂環式置換芳香族置換基、ならびに環が分子の別の部分によって完成する(例えば、2つの置換基が共に脂環式部分を形成する)環状置換基、
(b)置換炭化水素置換基、つまり、本開示の文脈において、主として炭化水素置換基を変化させない、非炭化水素基(例えば、ハロ(特にクロロ及びフルオロ)、ヒドロキシ、アルコキシ、メルカプト、アルキルメルカプト、ニトロ、ニトロソ、アミノ、アルキルアミノ、及びスルホキシ)を含有する置換基、及び

潤滑油組成物は、1種以上の過塩基性洗浄剤及び1種以上の低塩基性/中性洗浄剤を含む。好適な洗浄剤基材としては、フェネート、硫黄含有フェネート、スルホネート、カリキサレート、サリキサレート、サリチレート、カルボン酸、リン酸、モノチオリン酸及び/もしくはジチオリン酸、アルキルフェノール、硫黄結合アルキルフェノール化合物、またはメチレン架橋フェノールが挙げられる。好適な洗浄剤及びそれらの調製方法は、米国第7,732,390号及びその中で引用される参考文献を含む多数の特許公報により詳細に記載されている。洗浄剤基材は、カルシウム、マグネシウム、カリウム、ナトリウム、リチウム、バリウム、またはこれらの混合物などであるが、これらに限定されない、アルカリ金属またはアルカリ土類金属で、塩分添加され得る。いくつかの実施形態において、洗浄剤はバリウムを含まない。好適な洗浄剤は、石油スルホン酸、ならびにアリール基がベンジル、トリル、及びキシリルである長鎖モノもしくはジアルキルアリールスルホン酸のアルカリ金属塩またはアルカリ土類金属塩を含み得る。好適な追加洗浄剤の例としては、カルシウムフェネート、カルシウム硫黄含有フェネート、カルシウムスルホネート、カルシウムカリキサレート、カルシウムサリキサレート、カルシウムサリチレート、カルシウムカルボン酸、カルシウムリン酸、カルシウムモノチオリン酸及び/もしくはジチオリン酸、カルシウムアルキルフェノール、カルシウム硫黄結合アルキルフェノール化合物、カルシウムメチレン架橋フェノール、マグネシウムフェネート、マグネシウム硫黄含有フェネート、マグネシウムスルホネート、マグネシウムカリキサレート、マグネシウムサリキサレート、マグネシウムサリチレート、マグネシウムカルボン酸、マグネシウムリン酸、マグネシウムモノチオリン酸及び/もしくはジチオリン酸、マグネシウムアルキルフェノール、マグネシウム硫黄結合アルキルフェノール化合物、マグネシウムメチレン架橋フェノール、ナトリウムフェネート、ナトリウム硫黄含有フェネート、ナトリウムスルホネート、ナトリウムカリキサレート、ナトリウムサリキサレート、ナトリウムサリチレート、ナトリウムカルボン酸、ナトリウムリン酸、ナトリウムモノチオリン酸及び/もしくはジチオリン酸、ナトリウムアルキルフェノール、ナトリウム硫黄結合アルキルフェノール化合物、またはナトリウムメチレン架橋フェノールが挙げられるが、これらに限定されない。
本明細書における潤滑油組成物はまた、1種以上の亜鉛ジアルキルジチオホスフェート(ZDDP)を含む。ZDDPは、潤滑油組成物の総重量を基準として、約0.01重量%〜約15重量%、または約0.01重量%〜約10重量%、または約0.05重量%〜約5重量%、または約0.1重量%〜約3重量%の量で潤滑油組成物に存在する。

本明細書の潤滑油組成物中に使用される基油は、米国石油協会(American Petroleum Institute(API))Base Oil Interchangeability Guidelinesに明記される、I−V群における基油のいずれかから選択され得る。5つの基油の群は、以下の通りである。

本明細書の潤滑油組成物はまた、ZDDPに加えて、任意に、1種以上の耐摩耗剤を含有してもよい。好適な追加耐摩耗剤の例としては、金属チオホスフェート、金属ジアルキルジチオホスフェート、これらのリン酸エステルもしくは塩、ホスフェートエステル(複数可)、ホスファイト、リン含有カルボン酸エステル、エーテル、もしくはアミド、硫化オレフィン、チオカルバメートエステル、アルキレン結合チオカルバメート、及びビス(S−アルキルジチオカルバミル)ジスルフィドを含むチオカルバメート含有化合物、ならびにこれらの混合物が挙げられるが、これらに限定されない。好適な耐摩耗剤は、モリブデンジチオカルバメートであり得る。リン含有耐摩耗剤は、欧州特許第612839号においてより十分に記載されている。ジアルキルジチオホスフェート塩中の金属は、アルカリ金属、アルカリ土類金属、アルミニウム、鉛、スズ、モリブデン、マンガン、ニッケル、銅、チタン、または亜鉛であり得る。有用な耐摩耗剤は、亜鉛ジアルキルチオホスフェートであり得る。
本明細書の潤滑油組成物は、任意に、1種以上のホウ素含有化合物を含有してもよい。
本明細書の潤滑油組成物は、任意に、1種以上の低塩基性/中性洗浄剤を含有してもよい。低塩基性/中性洗浄剤は、最大で175mgKOH/g、または最大で150mgKOH/gのTBNを有する。低塩基性/中性洗浄剤は、カルシウム含有洗浄剤を含み得る。低塩基性中性カルシウム含有洗浄剤は、カルシウムスルホネート洗浄剤、カルシウムフェネート洗浄剤、及びカルシウムサリチレート洗浄剤から選択され得る。いくつかの実施形態において、低塩基性/中性洗浄剤は、カルシウム含有洗浄剤またはカルシウム含有洗浄剤の混合物である。いくつかの実施形態において、低塩基性/中性洗浄剤は、カルシウムスルホネート洗浄剤またはカルシウムフェネート洗浄剤である。

リンの無機酸もしくは無水物またはその部分的もしくは全体的硫黄類似体及びホウ素化合物の組み合わせ(例えば、米国特許第4,857,214号)、
有機二酸、それに次ぐ不飽和脂肪酸、及びそれに次ぐニトロソ芳香族アミン、任意にそれに続くホウ素化合物、ならびにそれに次ぐグルコール化剤の組み合わせ(例えば、米国特許第4,973,412号)、
アルデヒド及びトリアゾールの組み合わせ(例えば、米国特許第4,963,278号)、
アルデヒド及びトリアゾール、それに次ぐホウ素化合物の組み合わせ(例えば、米国特許第4,981,492号)、
環状ラクトン及びホウ素化合物の組み合わせ(例えば、米国特許第4,963,275号及び第4,971,711号)での処理が挙げられる。上記の特許はそれらの全体が本明細書に組み込まれる。
本明細書の潤滑油組成物はまた、任意に、1種以上の摩擦調整剤を含有してもよい。好適な摩擦調整剤は、金属含有及び金属を含まない摩擦調整剤を含み得、これらには、イミダゾリン、アミド、アミン、スクシンイミド、アルコキシル化アミン、アルコキシル化エーテルアミン、酸化アミン、アミドアミン、ニトリル、ベタイン、第四級アミン、イミン、アミン塩、アミノグアナジン、アルカノールアミド、ホスホネート、金属含有化合物、グリセロールエステル、硫化脂肪化合物及びオレフィン、ヒマワリ油他の天然に発生する植物油または動物油、ジカルボン酸エステル、ポリオールと1種以上の脂肪族もしくは芳香族カルボン酸とのエステルまたは部分エステルなどを挙げることができるが、これらに限定されない。
本明細書の潤滑油組成物はまた、任意に、1種以上のモリブデン含有化合物を含有してもよい。油溶性モリブデン化合物は、耐摩耗剤、酸化防止剤、摩擦調整剤、またはこれらの混合物の機能性能を有し得る。油溶性モリブデン化合物は、モリブデンジチオカルバメート、モリブデンジアルキルジチオリン酸塩、モリブデンジチオホスフィネート、モリブデン化合物のアミン塩、モリブデンキサンテート、モリブデンチオキサンテート、硫化モリブデン、モリブデンカルボキシレート、モリブデンアルコキシド、三核有機モリブデン化合物、及び/またはこれらの混合物を含み得る。硫化モリブデンは、二硫化モリブデンを含む。二硫化モリブデンは、安定分散の形態であり得る。一実施形態において、油溶性モリブデン化合物は、モリブデンジチオカルバメート、モリブデンジアルキルジチオリン酸塩、モリブデン化合物のアミン塩、及びこれらの混合物からなる群から選択され得る。一実施形態において、油溶性モリブデン化合物は、モリブデンジチオカルバメートであり得る。
添加剤の別の分類は、油溶性チタン化合物を含む。油溶性チタン化合物は、耐摩耗剤、摩擦調整剤、酸化防止剤、沈着制御添加剤、またはこれらの機能のうちの1種以上として機能し得る。一実施形態において、油溶性チタン化合物は、チタン(IV)アルコキシドであり得る。チタンアルコキシドは、一価アルコール、ポリオール、またはこれらの混合物から形成され得る。一価アルコキシドは、2〜16、または3〜10個の炭素原子を有し得る。一実施形態において、チタンアルコキシドは、チタン(IV)イソプロポキシドであり得る。一実施形態において、チタンアルコキシドは、チタン(IV)2−エチルヘキソキシドであり得る。一実施形態において、チタン化合物は、1,2−ジオールまたはポリオールのアルコキシドであり得る。一実施形態において、1,2−ジオールは、オレイン酸などの、グリセロールの脂肪酸モノエステルを含む。一実施形態において、油溶性チタン化合物は、チタンカルボキシレートであり得る。一実施形態において、チタン(IV)カルボキシレートは、チタンネオデカノエートであり得る。
別の実施形態において、油溶性化合物は、遷移金属含有化合物または半金属であってもよい。遷移金属としては、チタン、バナジウム、銅、亜鉛、ジルコニウム、モリブデン、タンタル、タングステンなどを挙げることができるが、これらに限定されない。好適な半金属としては、ホウ素、ケイ素、アンチモン、テルルなどが挙げられるが、これらに限定されない。
本明細書の潤滑油組成物はまた、任意に、1種以上の粘度指数改善剤を含有してもよい。好適な粘度指数改善剤としては、ポリオレフィン、オレフィンコポリマー、エチレン/プロピレンコポリマー、ポリイソブテン、水素化スチレン−イソプレンポリマー、スチレン/マレイン酸エステルコポリマー、水素化スチレン/ブタジエンコポリマー、水素化イソプレンポリマー、アルファ−オレフィン無水マレイン酸コポリマー、ポリメタクリレート、ポリアクリレート、ポリアルキルスチレン、水素化アルケニルアリール共役コポリマー、またはこれらの混合物を挙げることができる。粘度指数改善剤は星型ポリマーを含み得、好適な例は米国特許第8,999,905B2号に記載されている。
他の添加剤は、潤滑流体に必要とされる1つ以上の機能を実行するように選択され得る。更に、言及される添加剤のうちの1種以上は複数機能性であり、本明細書に規定される機能に対する追加の機能、またはそれ以外の機能を提供し得る。
Claims (18)
- ブーストされた内部燃焼ガソリンエンジンにおいて使用するためのエンジン油組成物であって、前記エンジン油組成物が、
50重量%を超える潤滑粘度の基油と、
添加剤組成物と、を含み、前記添加剤組成物が、
ASTM D−2896の方法によって測定される、225mgKOH/gを超える総塩基価を有する1種以上の過塩基性カルシウム含有洗浄剤と、
50〜100%の第2級アルキル基を有し、かつリン1モル当たり12〜15モルの炭素原子の平均総炭素含有量を有する、1種以上の亜鉛ジアルキルジチオホスフェート化合物と、を含み、
前記エンジン油組成物が、1100重量ppm〜1800重量ppm未満のカルシウムを前記エンジン油組成物に提供する量の前記過塩基性カルシウム含有洗浄剤と、0.01重量%〜5重量%の前記亜鉛ジアルキルジチオホスフェートと、を含み、いずれの量も前記エンジン油組成物の総重量を基準とし、
前記エンジン油組成物が、前記エンジン油組成物の総重量を基準として0.085重量%以下のリンを含有し、
前記エンジン油組成物が、前記エンジン油組成物の総重量を基準として5重量ppm〜300重量ppmのモリブデンを前記エンジン油組成物に提供するのに十分な量の油溶性モリブデン化合物を含有し、
前記エンジン油組成物が、10重量%以下のIV群基油、V群基油、またはこれらの組み合わせを含む、エンジン油組成物。 - 前記過塩基性カルシウム含有洗浄剤が、過塩基性カルシウムスルホネート洗浄剤および過塩基性カルシウムフェネート洗浄剤から選択される、請求項1に記載のエンジン油組成物。
- 前記エンジン油組成物が、前記エンジン油組成物で潤滑されたブーストされた内部燃焼ガソリンエンジンにおける低速プレイグニッション事象を、参考潤滑油R−1で潤滑された同じエンジンにおける低速プレイグニッション事象の数と比較して低減するのに有効であり、
参考潤滑油R−1が、合計で770ppmのリンと、2400重量ppmのカルシウムを前記参考潤滑油R−1に提供する量の過塩基性カルシウム含有洗浄剤と、80ppmのモリブデンを前記参考潤滑油R−1に提供する量の油溶性モリブデン化合物と、リン原子1モル当たり12.7の平均総モル数の炭素原子を有する亜鉛ジアルキルジチオホスフェートと、を含有し、前記亜鉛ジアルキルジチオホスフェートが、855ppmの亜鉛を前記参考潤滑油R−1に提供するのに十分な量で存在し、前記亜鉛ジアルキルジチオホスフェートが、第1級アルコールと第2級アルコールとの混合物に由来し、参考潤滑油R−1が、ILS AC GF−5の全ての性能要件を満たす、請求項1に記載のエンジン油組成物。 - 前記エンジン油組成物が、75%以上の低減の低速プレイグニッション事象の低減を提供し、前記低速プレイグニッション事象が、25,000のエンジンサイクルの間の低速プレイグニッション数であり、前記エンジンが、18,000kPaの正味平均有効圧力で、1分当たり2000回転で作動される、請求項3に記載のエンジン油組成物。
- 前記亜鉛ジアルキルジチオホスフェート化合物が、前記エンジン油組成物の総重量を基準として0.1重量%〜3重量%の範囲で存在する、請求項1に記載のエンジン油組成物。
- 前記1種以上の過塩基性カルシウム含有洗浄剤(複数可)が、前記エンジン油組成物の総重量を基準として1200重量ppm〜1500重量ppmのカルシウムを前記エンジン油組成物に提供する、請求項1に記載のエンジン油組成物。
- 摩擦調整剤、耐摩耗剤、分散剤、酸化防止剤、および粘度指数改善剤からなる群から選択される1種以上の成分を更に含む、請求項1に記載のエンジン油組成物。
- 前記エンジン油組成物における前記50重量%を超える基油が、II群、III群、IV群の基油、および前述の2種以上の組み合わせからなる群から選択され、前記50重量%を超える基油が、前記組成物中の添加剤成分または粘度指数改善剤の提供に起因する希釈油以外である、請求項1に記載のエンジン油組成物。
- 前記エンジン油組成物が、5重量%未満のV群の基油を含む、請求項1に記載のエンジン油組成物。
- ブーストされた内部燃焼ガソリンエンジンにおいて許容可能な数の低速プレイグニッション事象を提供するための方法であって、
エンジン油組成物でブーストされた内部燃焼ガソリンエンジンを潤滑させることであって、前記エンジン油組成物が、50重量%を超える潤滑粘度の基油と、
添加剤組成物と、を含み、前記添加剤組成物が、
ASTM D−2896の方法によって測定される、225mgKOH/gを超える総塩基価を有する1種以上の過塩基性カルシウム含有洗浄剤と、
50〜100%の第2級アルキル基を有し、かつリン1モル当たり12〜15モルの炭素原子の平均総炭素含有量を有する、1種以上の亜鉛ジアルキルジチオホスフェート化合物と、を含み、
前記エンジン油組成物が、1100重量ppm〜1800重量ppm未満のカルシウムを前記エンジン油組成物に提供する量の前記過塩基性カルシウム含有洗浄剤と、0.01重量%〜5重量%の前記亜鉛ジアルキルジチオホスフェートと、を含み、いずれの量も前記エンジン油組成物の総重量を基準とし、
前記エンジン油組成物が、前記エンジン油組成物の総重量を基準として0.085重量%以下のリンを含有し、
前記エンジン組成物が、前記エンジン油組成物の総重量を基準として5重量ppm〜300重量ppmのモリブデンを前記エンジン油組成物に提供するのに十分な量の油溶性モリブデン化合物を含有し、
前記エンジン油組成物が、10重量%以下のIV群基油、V群基油、またはこれらの組み合わせを含む、潤滑させることと、
前記エンジン油組成物で潤滑された前記エンジンを作動させることと、を含む、方法。 - 前記低速プレイグニッション事象が、25,000のエンジンサイクルの間の低速プレイグニッション数に基づき、前記エンジンが、18,000kPaの正味平均有効圧力(BMEP)で、1分当たり2000回転(RPM)で作動される、請求項10に記載の方法。
- 前記過塩基性カルシウム含有洗浄剤が、過塩基性カルシウムスルホネート洗浄剤および過塩基性カルシウムフェネート洗浄剤から選択される化合物を含む、請求項10に記載の方法。
- 前記50重量%を超える基油が、II群、III群、およびV群の基油、ならびに前述の2種以上の組み合わせからなる群から選択され、前記50重量%を超える基油が、前記組成物中の添加剤成分または粘度指数改善剤の提供に起因する希釈油以外であり、前記エンジン油組成物が、5重量%未満のV群の基油を含む、請求項10に記載の方法。
- 前記エンジン油組成物が、前記エンジン油組成物で潤滑されたブーストされた内部燃焼ガソリンエンジンにおける低速プレイグニッション事象を、参考潤滑油R−1で潤滑された同じエンジンにおける低速プレイグニッション事象の数と比較して75%低減するのに有効であり、
参考潤滑油R−1が、合計で770ppmのリンと、2400重量ppmのカルシウムを前記参考潤滑油R−1に提供する量の過塩基性カルシウム含有洗浄剤と、80ppmのモリブデンを前記参考潤滑油R−1に提供する量の油溶性モリブデン化合物と、リン原子1モル当たり12.7の平均総モル数の炭素原子を有する亜鉛ジアルキルジチオホスフェートと、を含有し、前記亜鉛ジアルキルジチオホスフェートが、855ppmの亜鉛を前記参考潤滑油R−1に提供するのに十分な量で存在し、前記亜鉛ジアルキルジチオホスフェートが、第1級アルコールと第2級アルコールとの混合物に由来し、参考潤滑油R−1が、ILS AC GF−5の全ての性能要件を満たす、請求項11に記載の方法。 - 前記エンジン油組成物が、いかなるマグネシウム含有洗浄剤も含有しない、請求項1に記載のエンジン油組成物。
- 前記エンジン油組成物が、いかなるマグネシウム含有洗浄剤も含有しない、請求項10に記載の方法。
- 第2級アルコール(複数可)に由来する1種以上の亜鉛ジアルキルジチオホスフェート化合物を含み、前記1種以上の亜鉛ジアルキルジチオホスフェート化合物が、リン1モル当たり12モルの炭素原子の平均総炭素含有量を有する、請求項1に記載のエンジン油組成物。
- 第2級アルコール(複数可)に由来する1種以上の亜鉛ジアルキルジチオホスフェート化合物を含み、前記1種以上の亜鉛ジアルキルジチオホスフェート化合物が、リン1モル当たり12モルの炭素原子の平均総炭素含有量を有する、請求項10に記載の方法。
