Description
図1は本発明の電気加熱式触媒コンバーター(EHC)の実施の形態を説明した模式図である。図示する電気加熱式触媒コンバーター10は、排ガスの排気系統、より具体的には、不図示のエンジン、電気加熱式触媒コンバーター10(EHC)、不図示の三元触媒コンバーター、および不図示のサブマフラーとメインマフラーが順に配され、相互に系統管で繋がれている排気系統内に組み込まれるものである。エンジンを始動させた際に、可及的速やかに電気加熱式触媒コンバーター10を構成する貴金属触媒を所定温度まで加熱昇温し、エンジンから流通してくる排ガスをこの貴金属触媒にて浄化し、電気加熱式触媒コンバーター10で浄化しきれなかった排ガスはその下流に位置する三元触媒浄化装置にて浄化されるようになっている。
本発明者等は、保護膜の有無と酸化劣化の関係を検証する実験をおこなった。具体的には、図2で示すようにSiC/Si製の多孔体からなる基材Kの表面にNi-Cr溶射材からなる電極端子D(厚みは50μm以下)を形成して試験体TPを製作した。そして、電極端子Dの表面には、以下二種の保護膜を成膜した。
Claims (7)
- 触媒コート層を備えた導電性の基材と、該基材に固定される電極部材とを少なくとも備え、該電極部材の少なくとも一部の表面に保護膜が形成されている電気加熱式触媒コンバーターであって、
前記保護膜は、少なくとも一部がAl2O3、SiO2、またはAl2O3とSiO2の複合材から形成される、もしくはAl 2 O 3 、SiO 2 、またはAl 2 O 3 とSiO 2 の複合材を主成分とする複合酸化物から形成され、かつ、アモルファス構造もしくは結晶化率が30体積%以下の部分結晶化ガラス構造を有しており、かつ、膜厚が100nm〜1μmの範囲にある、電気加熱式触媒コンバーター。 - 前記導電性の基材がSiCを主成分とする導電性セラミックスである請求項1に記載の電気加熱式触媒コンバーター。
- 前記電極部材が金属またはセラミックの単独部材、もしくは複合部材であり、該電極部材を構成する表面電極と配線固定層の気孔率が5%以上の多孔質である請求項1または2に記載の電気加熱式触媒コンバーター。
- 触媒コート層を備えた導電性の基材と、該基材に固定される電極部材とを少なくとも備え、該電極部材の少なくとも一部の表面に保護膜が形成されている電気加熱式触媒コンバーターの製造方法であって、
Al2O3のナノ材料、SiO2のナノ材料、またはAl2O3とSiO2の複合材のナノ材料、もしくは、Al2O3、SiO2、またはAl2O3とSiO2の複合材を主成分とする複合酸化物のナノ材料のいずれか一種が溶媒に含有されてなるゾルゲル溶液を調製する第1のステップ、
前記電極部材の少なくとも一部の表面に前記ゾルゲル溶液を塗布し、乾燥させ、前記保護膜がアモルファス構造もしくは結晶化率が30体積%以下の部分結晶化ガラス構造を有するように500℃以下の温度で焼成して保護膜を形成し、電気加熱式触媒コンバーターを製造する第2のステップ、からなる電気加熱式触媒コンバーターの製造方法。 - 前記導電性の基材がSiCを主成分とする導電性セラミックスである請求項4に記載の電気加熱式触媒コンバーターの製造方法。
- 前記電極部材が金属またはセラミックの単独部材、もしくは複合部材であり、該電極部材を構成する表面電極と配線固定層の気孔率が5%以上の多孔質である請求項4または5に記載の電気加熱式触媒コンバーターの製造方法。
- 前記第2のステップにおいて、焼成時の温度を100〜200℃の範囲とする請求項4〜6のいずれか一項に記載の電気加熱式触媒コンバーターの製造方法。
