Description
本発明の実施例に係る制御と比較例に係る制御を用いて、本発明の効果を実証するための実験を行った。
常温常湿環境(温度23℃、湿度50%)、高温高湿環境(温度32.5℃、湿度80%)及び低温低湿環境(温度10℃、湿度10%)において、用紙Sの第1の面と第2の面に対してトナー像を転写する実験を行った。この実験には、中間転写ベルト11を有するタンデム式の複合機1を使用した。実験に使用された複合機1の構成は、本実施形態の複合機1の構成(図1、図2参照)と同様であるため、説明を省略する。複合機1の線速は、109mm/secとした。用紙Sとして、200gの厚紙を用いた。
各実験条件における実験結果を、図6〜図11に示す。

Claims (4)
- トナー像を担持する複数の像担持体と、
前記複数の像担持体に接触する中間転写体と、
前記複数の像担持体上のトナー像を前記中間転写体に1次転写する複数の1次転写部材と、
前記中間転写体上のトナー像を記録媒体に2次転写する2次転写部材と、
記録媒体の搬送方向において前記2次転写部材の上流側に設けられ、記録媒体を搬送方向に沿ってガイドするガイド部材と、
前記複数の像担持体上のトナー像を前記中間転写体に1次転写する際に前記複数の1次転写部材に印加される1次転写バイアス及び前記中間転写体上のトナー像を記録媒体に2次転写する際に前記2次転写部材に印加される2次転写バイアスを制御する制御部と、を備え、
前記複数の1次転写部材は、上流側1次転写部材と、前記中間転写体の走行方向において前記上流側1次転写部材の下流側に配置される下流側1次転写部材と、を含み、
前記制御部は、前記下流側1次転写部材に印加される前記1次転写バイアスの絶対値を前記上流側1次転写部材に印加される前記1次転写バイアスの絶対値よりも大きくし、且つ、記録媒体の搬送方向上流側の端部が前記ガイド部材から離れる際に前記2次転写バイアスの絶対値を下げ、
前記制御部は、機内の温度又は湿度の少なくとも一方が上昇するのに伴って、前記1次転写バイアス及び前記2次転写バイアスの絶対値を大きくすることを特徴とする画像形成装置。 - 第1の面に画像が印刷された記録媒体の第2の面に画像を印刷するために記録媒体の表裏を反転させる反転経路を更に備え、
前記制御部は、記録媒体の第2の面に画像を印刷する場合に、記録媒体の第1の面に画像を印刷する場合よりも、記録媒体の搬送方向上流側の端部が前記ガイド部材から離れた後の前記2次転写バイアスの絶対値を小さくすることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の画像形成装置。 - 第1の面に画像が印刷された記録媒体の第2の面に画像を印刷するために記録媒体の表裏を反転させる反転経路を更に備え、
前記制御部は、記録媒体の第2の面に画像を印刷する場合に、記録媒体の第1の面に画像を印刷する場合よりも、前記下流側1次転写部材に印加される前記1次転写バイアスの絶対値を小さくすることを特徴とする請求項1又は2に記載の画像形成装置。 - 前記上流側1次転写部材は、カラーのトナー像を前記中間転写体に1次転写し、
前記下流側1次転写部材は、ブラックのトナー像を前記中間転写体に1次転写することを特徴とする請求項1〜3のいずれか1項に記載の画像形成装置。
