Description
自動車の内燃機関のための燃料システムでは、燃料系統同士を接合してエンジンおよび燃料タンクなどのシステム構成要素間で液体燃料および燃料蒸気を搬送するために、コネクタがしばしば用いられる。効果を発揮するようにするために、接続は、流体密封封止をもたらすべきであり、燃料系統の軸方向の分離に対して優れた耐性を示すべきである。
本発明の一局面に従って、第1および第2のコネクタを含む流体系統コネクタアセンブリを提供する。上記第1のコネクタは、内側コアと、上記内側コアの少なくとも一部を取囲む外側外殻とを有する。上記内側コアは、第1の材料からなり、上記外側外殻は、第2の材料からなっている。上記第1のコネクタは、径方向外向きに延在する保持面を備えた傾斜部を有する。上記内側コアは、上記保持面の径方向の広がりの少なくとも一部の、上記保持面に隣接した位置において、上記傾斜部を通って延在している。上記第2のコネクタは、フックを有し、上記第1および第2のコネクタを結合して互いに固定すると、上記フックは、上記保持面を再び支えることによって上記第1および第2のコネクタの分離を阻止する。
上記成形するステップは、一方の軸方向端部から第2の軸方向端部に位置する上記傾斜部まで軸方向に延在する概して円筒形の形状を有する、径方向外向きに上記犠牲部まで延在する上記傾斜部を備えた一体の本体として上記コネクタ本体を成形するステップをさらに備え得る。
図面を参照して、図1〜図6は、燃料系統コネクタアセンブリの実施例を示し、当該燃料系統コネクタアセンブリは、考えられる他の用途の中でも自動車エンジン吸気および排気システムのための燃料系統、ならびに、エンジンおよび燃料タンクなどのシステム構成要素間で接続を行うために用いられる。示されている燃料系統コネクタアセンブリは、燃料系統間に流体密封封止をもたらし、いくつかの公知の燃料系統コネクタと比較して軸方向引離し試験において優れた性能を示す。さらに、開示されている燃料系統コネクタアセンブリは、コネクタを結合して公知のコネクタにより燃料系統同士を接続する間に生じ得るジャミングおよび他の問題を制限または全く排除することができる。示されている実施例は燃料系統コネクタの実施例に向けられるが、開示されているコネクタの設計およびその個々の特徴は、液体および/または蒸気燃料系統を接続するためだけでなく、非燃料液体、ガスおよび/または蒸気供給系統を接続するために用いられるものを含む他のタイプの流体系統コネクタにも用いられてもよい。他に規定のない限り、または、文脈上他の意味に解釈すべき場合を除き、本明細書で用いられる「径方向」、「軸方向」および「周方向」という用語は、図1に示される燃料系統コネクタアセンブリの概して管状の形状に対する方向を指す。

- 第1のコネクタと第2のコネクタを備える流体系統コネクタアセンブリであって、
前記第1のコネクタは当該第1のコネクタの強度を向上させるための補強骨格としての内側コアと、前記内側コアの少なくとも一部を取囲む外側外殻とを有し、
前記内側コアは、第1の材料からなり、前記外側外殻は、第2の材料からなり、
前記第1のコネクタは、径方向外向きに延在する保持面を有する傾斜部を含み、
前記内側コアは、前記保持面に隣接した位置において、前記傾斜部を通って延在し、且つ、前記傾斜部の外面において露出しており、
前記第2のコネクタはフックを備え、

請求項1に記載の流体系統コネクタアセンブリを備え、前記取付け具同士が接続されたときに前記第1および第2のコネクタの係合によって前記取付け具同士が解放可能に保持され得るように、前記第1のコネクタは前記第1の取付け具に取付けられ、前記第2のコネクタは前記第2の取付け具に取付けられる、燃料系統コネクタアセンブリ。 - 請求項1〜6のいずれか一項記載の流体系統コネクタアセンブリのための第1のコネクタの製造方法であって、
外側外殻と前記外側外殻の材料の硬度特性よりも高い硬度特性を有する内側コアとを備えた傾斜部を有する第1のコネクタ本体を成形するステップを備え、前記内側コアは、前記傾斜部を通って、少なくとも部分的に前記外側外殻から形成された犠牲部まで延在しており、前記方法はさらに、
前記傾斜部から前記犠牲部を切断するステップを備える、方法。 - 前記成形するステップは、前記内側コアが前記傾斜部を通って少なくとも部分的に前記犠牲部に延在するように前記コネクタ本体を成形するステップをさらに備え、前記切断するステップは、前記内側コアが前記傾斜部の頂点において露出するように前記外側外殻および内側コアを切ることによって前記傾斜部から前記犠牲部を切断するステップをさらに備える、請求項8に記載の方法。
- 前記成形するステップは、前記コネクタ本体を共射出成形するステップを備える、請求項8に記載の方法。
- 前記成形するステップは、一方の軸方向端部から第2の軸方向端部に位置する前記傾斜部まで軸方向に延在する概して円筒形の形状を有する、径方向外向きに前記犠牲部まで延在する前記傾斜部を備えた一体の本体として前記コネクタ本体を成形するステップをさらに備える、請求項8に記載の方法。
