Description
NALCO 2326シリカナノ粒子を、上に概略を述べたように、イソオクチルトリメトキシシラン及びメチルトリメトキシシランの混合物により表面改質した。上に概説したように、無機顔料に対して0.5wt%の表面改質ナノ粒子を得るように、表面改質ナノ粒子をフェロシアン化第二鉄青顔料と湿式でブレンドした。ナノ粒子により強化された無機顔料組成物の0.60gを、0.15gずつ増やしながら、18.25gのGlidden Oil/Alkyd Paint Ultrahide 3517に加え、混合物をアプリケータスティックを用いて各増分の追加後にかき混ぜ、このようにしてナノ粒子により強化された顔料組成物が重量で3.2%加えられた、ペイント製剤を用意した(ペイントの総湿潤重量基準)。無機顔料が重量で3.2%までペイントに加えられた類似の試料を調製したが、試料中の顔料はナノ粒子を含んでいなかった。次いで、各試料をバイアル瓶中で約2時間転がした。各バイアル瓶には、更に混合するための撹拌棒が含まれていた。
NALCO 2326シリカナノ粒子を、上に概説したように、イソオクチルトリメトキシシラン及びメチルトリメトキシシランの混合物により表面改質した。表面改質ナノ粒子を、有機顔料(商品名、Indofast Violet 23、として、Sun Chemical,Cincinnati,OHから入手できる)と、上に概説したのと類似の方法により、湿式ブレンドし、有機顔料に対して0.5wt%の表面改質ナノ粒子を得た。上に概説したのと類似の方法により、FlackTek,Landrum,SCから商品名、SpeedMixer DAC 150 FVZ、として入手できる混合装置を使用して、表面改質ナノ粒子を含む有機顔料をCM−111増量剤と、10%表面改質ナノ粒子を含む有機顔料対90% CM−111の重量比で、混合した。CM−111増量剤/表面改質ナノ粒子を含む有機顔料の、90/10混合物は、38.3のL*値を示した。CM−111増量剤/表面改質ナノ粒子を含まない有機顔料の、90/10混合物は、23.0のL*値を示した。表面改質ナノ粒子を含まない90/10増量剤混合試料と比較して、表面改質ナノ粒子を含む90/10増量剤混合試料は、濃い斑点(specs)のあるより薄い色に見えた。
Claims (2)
- 10ナノメートル未満の平均一次粒子サイズを有するナノ粒子により強化された無機顔料組成物(ただし、輝尽性蛍光体を含む組成物を除く)の調製方法であって、
白以外の色を付与する複数の無機顔料粒子を提供する工程と、
アルキルトリアルコキシシランにより表面改質された複数の表面改質ナノ粒子が、少なくとも幾つかの前記無機顔料粒子の表面の少なくとも一部の上に少なくとも単層を形成するように、前記複数の無機顔料粒子を前記複数の表面改質ナノ粒子と混合する工程と、を含み、
前記表面改質ナノ粒子の含有量が、前記無機顔料粒子の含有量に対して、少なくとも0.2wt%かつ0.75wt%以下である、方法。 - 10ナノメートル未満の平均一次粒子サイズを有するナノ粒子により強化された無機顔料組成物(ただし、輝尽性蛍光体を含む組成物を除く)であって、
白以外の色を付与する複数の無機顔料粒子と、
少なくとも幾つかの前記無機顔料粒子の表面の少なくとも一部の上に少なくとも単層を形成する、アルキルトリアルコキシシランにより表面改質された複数の表面改質ナノ粒子と、を含み、
前記表面改質ナノ粒子の含有量が、前記無機顔料粒子の含有量に対して、少なくとも0.2wt%かつ0.75wt%以下である、組成物。
