図1のように、前記シールテープ10は、基材層12と、前記基材層12の一面に形成される粘着剤層11とを含み、前記粘着剤層11は、前述した前記粘着剤組成物の硬化物を含む。
粘着剤組成物の重量平均分子量は、GPCを使用して、以下の条件で測定した。検量線の製作には、Agilent systemの標準ポリスチレンを使用して、測定結果を換算した。

溶離液:テトラヒドロフラン

濃度:〜2mg/mL(100μL injection)
シールテープを横の長さが25mm、縦の長さが200mmとなるように裁断して、試験片を製造した。試験片を粘着剤層を介してガラス板に2kgのゴムローラーを用いて付着し、常温で2時間程度保管した後、引張試験機器を使用して5mm/secの剥離速度及び180度の剥離角度でシールテープを剥離しながら剥離力を測定した。
シールテープを横の長さが25mm、縦の長さが200mmとなるように裁断して、試験片を製造した。試験片を粘着剤層を介して電極組立体の分離膜(SRSオレフィン系分離膜)に2kgのゴムローラーを用いて付着し、常温で約2時間保管した後、引張試験機器を使用して5mm/secの剥離速度及び180度の剥離角度でシールテープを剥離しながら剥離力を測定した。剥離力を測定するとき、400gf/25mmを超過する場合には、分離膜自体が層分離されながら、破壊され、剥離力の測定が不可能であった。
実施例及び比較例で製造された試験片をカーボネート系電解質に含浸させ、密封した状態で常温で1日間放置した後、電解質から取り出して、デジタルカメラを利用して表面形状を撮影し、これを図3及び図4に示した。

実施例4及び比較例1で製造された試験片をカーボネート系電解質に含浸させ、密封した状態で常温で1日間放置した後、電解質から取り出して、光学顕微鏡を利用して前記試験片の断面形状を撮影し、これを図5及び図6に示した。実施例4の場合、粘着剤層が電解液を吸収して立体構造を形成し、粘着剤層が一定のヘイズを有することによって、透明なPET基材との界面が明確に観察されたが、比較例1の場合、粘着剤層が電解液をほとんど吸収せず、これによって、ヘイズを有しないことによって、透明な粘着剤層とPET基材との界面を目視で観察することは困難であった。
実施例及び比較例で製造されたシールテープ試験片(横x縦=50mmx57mm)を電極組立体(長さ60mmx直径17mm)に付着し、前記電極組立体をカーボネート系電解質に含浸させた後、前記シールテープが電極組立体の表面から脱離される現象を観察し、脱離される面積を横及び縦の長さを測定して計算し、前記電極組立体に付着した面積(625mm2)に対する脱離面積の比率を計算した。
実施例及び比較例で製造されたシールテープ試験片を電極組立体に付着し、前記電極組立体を外装カンに挿入し、前記外装カンに電解液を注入後、前記外装カンを密封して円筒形電池を構成した。前記のように製造された円筒形電池のサンプルを4個準備した後、各サンプルに対して、10回充電と放電を繰り返し、電池を分解して電極組立体を取り出し、陽極/分離膜/陰極/分離膜を分解しながらクラックの発生有無を観察した。
窒素ガスが還流され、温度調節が容易となるように冷却装置を設置した1000cc反応器にn−ブチルアクリレート(n−Butyl Acrylate、n−BA)58重量部、メトキシエチルアクリレート(Methoxy Ethyl Acrylate、MEA)40重量部及びヒドロキシブチルアクリレート(Hydroxy Butyl Acrylate、HBA)2重量部で構成される単量体混合物と、連鎖移動剤であるn−ドデカンチオール(n−dodecanethiol)0.02重量部を投入し、溶媒としてエチルアセテート(Ethyl Acetate、EAc)150重量部を投入した。次に、酸素を除去するために、60℃で、窒素ガスを60分間パージングした後、60℃に維持した。混合物を均一にした後、反応開始剤としてアゾビスイソブチロニトリル(Azobisisobutyronitrile、AIBN)0.04重量部を投入した。混合物を8時間反応させて、重量平均分子量が80万である重合体(A1)を製造した。前記で重量部は、wt%を意味する。
前記製造例1で、メトキシエチルアクリレート40重量部の代わりに、メトキシエトキシエチルアクリレート(Methoxy Ethoxy Ethyl Acrylate、MOEOEA)40重量部を投入したことを除いて、製造例1と同一の方法で重量平均分子量が70万である重合体(A2)を製造した。前記で重量部は、wt%を意味する。
前記製造例1で、メトキシエチルアクリレート40重量部の代わりに、エトキシエトキシエチルアクリレート(Eethoxy Ethoxy Ethyl Acrylate、EOEOEA)40重量部を投入したことを除いて、製造例1と同一の方法で重量平均分子量が60万である重合体(A3)を製造した。前記で重量部は、wt%を意味する。
前記製造例1でn−BA 58重量部、MEA 40重量部及びHBA 2重量部の代わりに、n−BA 68重量部、MEA 30重量部及びHBA 2重量部を投入したことを除いて、製造例1と同一の方法で重量平均分子量が78万である重合体(A4)を製造した。前記で重量部は、wt%を意味する。
前記製造例1でn−BA 58重量部、MEA 40重量部及びHBA 2重量部の代わりに、n−BA 48重量部、MEA 50重量部及びHBA 2重量部を投入したことを除いて、製造例1と同一の方法で重量平均分子量が79万である重合体(A5)を製造した。前記で重量部は、wt%を意味する。
前記製造例1でn−BA 58重量部、MEA 40重量部及びHBA 2重量部の代わりに、n−BA 38重量部、MEA 60重量部及びHBA 2重量部を投入したことを除いて、製造例1と同一の方法で重量平均分子量が75万である重合体(A6)を製造した。前記で重量部は、wt%を意味する。
前記製造例1でn−BA 58重量部、MEA 40重量部及びHBA 2重量部の代わりに、n−BA 28重量部、MEA 70重量部及びHBA 2重量部を投入したことを除いて、製造例1と同一の方法で重量平均分子量が73万である重合体(A7)を製造した。前記で重量部は、wt%を意味する。
前記製造例1で、メトキシエチルアクリレートを投入せず、n−ブチルアクリレート98重量部、及びヒドロキシブチルアクリレート2重量部で構成される単量体混合物を投入したことを除いて、製造例1と同一の方法で重量平均分子量が80万である重合体(B1)を製造した。前記で重量部は、wt%を意味する。
前記製造例1で、メトキシエチルアクリレートを投入せず、n−ブチルアクリレート93重量部、及びアクリル酸7重量部で構成される単量体混合物を投入したことを除いて、製造例1と同一の方法で重量平均分子量が80万である重合体(B2)を製造した。前記で重量部はwt%を意味する。
前記製造例1でn−BA 58重量部、MEA 40重量部及びHBA 2重量部の代わりに、n−BA 88重量部、MEA 10重量部及びHBA 2重量部を投入したことを除いて、製造例1と同一の方法で重量平均分子量が79万である重合体(B3)を製造した。前記で重量部は、wt%を意味する。
前記製造例1でn−BA 58重量部、MEA 40重量部及びHBA 2重量部の代わりに、n−BA 78重量部、MEA 20重量部及びHBA 2重量部を投入したことを除いて、製造例1と同一の方法で重量平均分子量が80万である重合体(B4)を製造した。前記で重量部は、wt%を意味する。
[粘着剤組成物の製造]
前記製造した重合体(A1)100重量部に対して多官能性イソシアネート系架橋剤としてトリメチロールプロパンのトリレンジイソシアネート付加物 0.3重量部をエチルアセテート溶液に投入した後、コーティング性を考慮して適正の濃度に希釈して均一に混合した。
前記製造例1で製造された粘着剤組成物をPET(poly(ethylene terephthalate))フィルム(厚さ:19μm)の一面にコーティング及び乾燥し、厚さが6μmである均一なコーティング層を形成させた。引き続いて、コーティング層上に離型フィルムをラミネートし、引き続いて、恒温(25℃)恒湿条件で、3日間熟成させて、シールテープを製造した。
陰極、陽極及び分離膜を含むゼリーロール形状の電極組立体(断面の直径:17.2mm)の外周の約50%の面積を覆うようにシールテープを付着し、前記組立体を円筒形のカン(断面の直径:17.5mm)に挿入した。引き続いて、前記カンの内部にカーボネート系電解質を注入し、密封し、電池を完成した。
シールテープの製造時に粘着剤層の組成を下記表1及び表2のように変更し、実施例1と同様にシールテープ及び電池を製造した。

前記粘着剤組成物は、(メタ)アクリル酸エステル単量体、下記化学式1で表示される単量体及び架橋性官能基を含有する架橋性単量体から誘導された重合単位を有する重合体を含む粘着剤組成物であり、
前記粘着剤組成物は架橋剤をさらに含み、
前記重合体は、(メタ)アクリル酸エステル単量体100重量部に対して化学式1で表示される単量体30重量部〜300重量部を重合された形態で含む、二次電池用のシールテープ:

- 架橋性単量体は、ヒドロキシ基、カルボキシル基、エポキシ基、グリシジル基、イソシアネート基、アミド基、アミノ基及びアルコキシシリル基よりなる群から選択された1種以上の架橋性官能基を含む、請求項1に記載のシールテープ。
- 重合体は、(メタ)アクリル酸エステル単量体100重量部に対して架橋性単量体0.1重量部〜10重量部を重合された形態で含む、請求項1に記載のシールテープ。
- 架橋剤は、全体組成物100重量部に対して0.001〜10重量部の含量で含まれる、請求項1に記載のシールテープ。
- 架橋剤は、イソシアネート系化合物、エポキシ系化合物、アジリジン系化合物及び金属キレート系化合物よりなる群から選択された1種以上を含む、請求項1に記載のシールテープ。
- 基材層は、アクリルフィルム、ポリオレフィンフィルム、ポリアミドフィルム、ポリカーボネートフィルム、ポリウレタンフィルム、セルロースアセテートフィルム及びポリエステルフィルムよりなる群から選択された1つ以上のフィルムである、請求項1に記載のシールテープ。
- ポリエステルフィルムは、ポリエチレンテレフタレートフィルム、ポリエチレンナフタレートフィルム及びポリブチレンテレフタレートフィルムよりなる群から選択される1つ以上である、請求項8に記載のシールテープ。
- 基材層の厚さは、10〜200μmである、請求項1に記載のシールテープ。
- 粘着剤層の厚さは、2〜100μmである、請求項1に記載のシールテープ。
- 粘着剤層は、ガラスに対して、5mm/secの剥離速度及び180度の剥離角度で測定した常温における剥離力が370gf/25mm以下である、請求項1に記載のシールテープ。
- 陽極板、陰極板及び前記陽極板と陰極板の間に介在される分離膜を含む電極組立体と;前記電極組立体の外周面に粘着剤層を介して付着している請求項1に記載のシールテープと;を含む二次電池。
- シールテープは、前記電極組立体の外周面のうち分離膜の最外側の端部が位置する仕上がり部を含んで前記外周面を取り囲むように付着している、請求項13に記載の二次電池。
- 粘着剤層は、分離膜に対して、5mm/secの剥離速度及び180度の剥離角度で測定した常温における剥離力が1200gf/25mm以下である、請求項13に記載の二次電池。
- 前記電池は、円筒形である、請求項13に記載の二次電池。
