Description
ここで非水溶性樹脂とは、23℃における水への溶解性が0.5質量%以下の樹脂をいう。
非水溶性樹脂は、少なくとも炭素数8〜18のアルキル基を有するアルキル(メタ)アクリレート(A)と、β−ジケトン基またはβ−ケト酸エステル基を有するモノマー(B)とを含むモノマー混合物の共重合体からなるアクリル系ポリマーである。
アクリル系ポリマーのガラス転移温度(Tg)は、23℃以下であることが好ましく、さらには0℃以下であることがより好ましい。これにより、インクが記録媒体上で定着する際に成膜を促進させることができる。
インク総量に対して、水溶性樹脂は、0.1〜5質量%程度含まれていることが好ましく、0.5〜1.5質量%であることが一層好ましい。
四つ口フラスコに、エクソールD110(ナフテン系溶剤;東燃ゼネラル石油(株)製)36.6質量部を仕込み、窒素ガスを通気し攪拌しながら、110℃まで昇温した。次いで、温度を110℃に保ちながら表1に示す各単量体混合物にエクソールD110 8.2質量部、パーブチル O(t−ブチルパーオキシ2−エチルヘキサノエート;日油(株)製)1.0質量部の混合物を3時間かけて滴下した。その後、110℃に保ちながら1時間後および2時間後に、パーブチルOを各々0.1質量部添加した。さらに110℃で1時間熟成を行い、エクソールD110 5.2質量部で希釈して、不揮発分50%の無色透明の樹脂溶液a〜cを得た。得られた各樹脂溶液の質量平均分子量(GPC法、標準ポリスチレン換算)は、20000〜23000であった。
表2に示す配合で非水系樹脂、水溶性樹脂、分散時希釈剤を混合し、ジルコニアビーズ(直径0.5mm)を入れて、ビーズミル(ロッキングミルRMO5S型、(株)セイワ技研製)により120分間分散した。分散後ジルコニアビーズを除去し、粘度調整用溶剤で希釈してから、3μmおよび0.8μmのメンブランフィルターで順に濾過してゴミおよび粗大粒子を取り除いて炭酸ガス処理前の実施例のインクを得た。同様にして、表3に示す配合で、比較例のインクを得た。なお比較例5では分散前にオレイン酸を添加した。
(印刷濃度)
得られたインクをオルフィスX9050(理想科学工業(株)製)に装填し、普通紙(理想用紙薄口、理想科学工業(株)製)に印刷したベタ画像の表面と裏面のOD値を、光学濃度計(RD920、マクベス社製)を用いて測定し、以下の基準で評価した。表面のOD値が高ければ画像濃度が高く、裏面のOD値が低ければ裏抜けが少ないことを示している。

B:1.10以上1.15未満
C:1.10未満
印刷濃度(裏OD)
A:0.20未満
B:0.20以上0.25未満
C:0.25以上
各インクを密閉容器に入れて、70℃の環境下で3ヶ月保存し、その後インクの粘度変化を測定し、その測定結果を以下のように評価した。放置後の粘度は上記の方法で測定した。
粘度変化率:
[(3ヶ月後の粘度×100)/(粘度の初期値)]−100(%)
A:粘度変化率が5%未満
B:粘度変化率が5%以上10%未満
C:粘度変化率が10%以上
得られたインクを−5℃で3ヶ月放置した後、−5℃でのインク粘度を測定し、以下の基準で評価した。
A:50mPa・s未満
B:50mPa・s以上100mPa・s未満
C:100mPa・s以上
インクを70℃の環境に密閉状態で1ヶ月保存した後、オルフィスX9050を用いてベタ画像をA4サイズの普通紙100枚に連続印刷し、その画像を目視により確認し、以下の基準で評価した。
A:均一なベタ画像
B:初期は均一なベタ画像が得られるが、数十枚印刷すると画像に乱れが生じる
C:初期から画像に乱れが生じる
オルフィスX9050を用いて普通紙に印刷し、以下の基準で評価した。
A:非画像部の汚れはほとんど確認できない
B:非画像部の汚れはわずかに確認できる
C:非画像部の汚れが顕著である
インクを23℃の環境に密閉状態で1週間保存した後、臭気を以下の基準で評価した。
A:不快臭がない
B:不快臭がわずかにある
C:不快臭が強い
以上の評価結果を、インクの処方とともに表2および3に示す。
Claims (2)
- 顔料と、非水系溶剤と、非水溶性樹脂と、水溶性樹脂とを含む非水系顔料インクであって、
前記非水溶性樹脂が少なくとも炭素数8〜18のアルキル基を有するアルキル(メタ)アクリレート(A)と、β−ジケトン基またはβ−ケト酸エステル基を有するモノマー(B)とを含むモノマー混合物の共重合体からなるアクリル系ポリマーであり、
前記水溶性樹脂が1分子中に1級および/または2級アミノ基を2個以上含むものであり、
前記アミノ基と炭酸ガスとの中和塩をさらに含むことを特徴とする非水系顔料インク。 - 前記水溶性樹脂がポリエチレンイミンであることを特徴とする請求項1記載の非水系顔料インク。
