Description
前記非水系溶剤が炭化水素系非極性溶剤を溶剤全量に対し50質量%以上含み、
前記非水系樹脂は、(メタ)アクリレートの主鎖に対し、炭素数8〜18のアルキル基とウレタン基とが側鎖を構成する櫛形構造のアクリル系ポリマーであって、
該アクリル系ポリマーが、炭素数8〜18のアルキル基を有するアルキル(メタ)アクリレート(A)と、アミノ基と反応しうる官能基を有する反応性(メタ)アクリレート(B)と、β−ジケトン基またはβ−ケト酸エステル基を有するモノマー(C)とを含むモノマー混合物の共重合体に、前記アミノ基と反応しうる官能基とアミノアルコールと多価イソシアネート化合物との反応により前記ウレタン基が導入されたものであり、
前記共重合体部と前記ウレタン基部との質量比率が80:20〜99:1であることを特徴とするものである。
前記共重合体部と前記ウレタン基部との質量比率は85:15〜95:5であることがより好ましい。
前記非水系溶剤は、炭化水素系非極性溶剤を溶剤全量に対し70質量%以上含むことが好ましい。
該アクリル系ポリマーが、炭素数8〜18のアルキル基を有するアルキル(メタ)アクリレート(A)と、アミノ基と反応しうる官能基を有する反応性(メタ)アクリレート(B)と、β−ジケトン基またはβ−ケト酸エステル基を有するモノマー(C)とを含むモノマー混合物の共重合体に、前記アミノ基と反応しうる官能基とアミノアルコールと多価イソシアネート化合物との反応により前記ウレタン基が導入されたものであり、
前記共重合体部と前記ウレタン基部との質量比率が80:20〜99:1であることを特徴とするものである。
非水系樹脂は、(メタ)アクリレートの主鎖に対し、炭素数8〜18のアルキル基とウレタン基とが側鎖を構成する櫛形構造のアクリル系ポリマーである。ここで、(メタ)アクリレートは、アクリレートおよびメタクリレートを意味する。このアクリル系ポリマーは、炭素数8〜18のアルキル基を有するアルキル(メタ)アクリレート(A)と、アミノ基と反応しうる官能基を有する反応性(メタ)アクリレート(B)と、β−ジケトン基またはβ−ケト酸エステル基を有するモノマー(C)とを含むモノマー混合物の共重合体に、アミノ基と反応しうる官能基とアミノアルコールと多価イソシアネート化合物との反応によりウレタン基が導入されたものである。
側鎖を構成するウレタン基はカルバミン酸エステル(H2NCOOR、RNHCOOR)部を有するものである。
アクリル系ポリマーのガラス転移温度(Tg)は、常温以下であることが好ましく、さらには0℃以下であることがより好ましい。これにより、インクが記録媒体上で定着する際に、常温で成膜を促進させることができる。
モノマー(C)としては、たとえば、エステル鎖にβ−ジケトン基またはβ−ケト酸エステル基を含む(メタ)アクリレート、(メタ)アクリルアミドが好ましい例として挙げられる。より詳細には、アセトアセトキシエチル(メタ)アクリレート等のアセトアセトキシアルキル(メタ)アクリレート、ヘキサジオン(メタ)アクリレート、アセトアセトキシエチル(メタ)アクリルアミド等のアセトアセトキシアルキル(メタ)アクリルアミド等が挙げられる。これらは単独で、または2種以上を併用することができる。

上記により、顔料吸着能を持たない共重合体に対して、顔料吸着基として作用するウレタン基が導入される。
顔料の質量に対する非水系樹脂の質量(非水系樹脂以外の樹脂を含む場合はそれも加えた総量)は、顔料の質量を1として、顔料分散性の効果を確保する観点から0.5以上であることが好ましく、インク粘度の向上と経時変化による吐出不良を回避する観点から1以下であることが好ましい。
上記で説明した非水系樹脂は、非水系顔料インク用顔料分散剤に好適に用いられる。
インク中の顔料の含有量は、通常0.01〜20質量%であり、印刷濃度とインク粘度の観点から1〜15質量%であることが好ましく、5〜10質量%であることが一層好ましい。
以下に本発明の非水系インクジェットインクの実施例を示す。
300mlの四つ口フラスコに、AF−7(ナフテン系溶剤;新日本石油(株)製)75gを仕込み、窒素ガスを通気し攪拌しながら、110℃まで昇温した。次いで、温度を110℃に保ちながら表1に示す組成の各単量体混合物にAF−7 16.7g、パーブチル O(t−ブチルパーオキシ2−エチルヘキサノエート;日本油脂(株)製)2gの混合物を3時間かけて滴下した。その後、110℃に保ちながら1時間および2時間後に、パーブチル Oを各0.2g添加した。さらに110℃で1時間熟成を行い、AF−7 10.6gで希釈して、不揮発分50%の無色透明の共重合体a〜l溶液を得た。得られた各共重合体の質量平均分子量(GPC法、標準ポリスチレン換算)は、20000〜23000であった。
500mLの四つ口フラスコに、上記で得られた共重合体a溶液(AF−7溶剤中固形分50%)200g、マイケル付加物(ジエタノールアミン/2−エチルヘキシルアクリレート付加物)4.0g、ジエタノールアミン(日本触媒(株)製)2.8gを仕込み、窒素ガスを通気し攪拌しながら、110℃まで昇温した。110℃に1時間保ち、共重合体aのグリシジル基とジエタノールアミンとの反応を完結させた。その後、ジブチル錫ジラウレートを0.2g添加し、タケネート 600(1,3−ビス(イソシアナトメチル)シクロヘキサン、三井化学ポリウレタン(株)製)7.8gとラウリン酸ヘキシル(HL、花王(株)製)72.0gとの混合物を1時間かけて滴下した。滴下後、温度を120℃に昇温して6時間反応させ、冷却して、固形分40%の顔料分散剤D1を得た。
同様にして、表2に示す組成で顔料分散剤D2〜D14を製造した。表2に示す共重合体の量はいずれも固形分50%の量である。得られた各アクリル系ポリマーの質量平均分子量(GPC法、標準ポリスチレン換算)は、22000〜26000であった。
得られた顔料分散剤D1 7.5gと顔料(カーボンブラック、三井化学(株)製MA11)5.0g、AF−7 6.25g、ラウリン酸ヘキシル6.25gを混合し、ジルコニアビーズ(直径0.5mm)を入れて、ロッキングミル((株)セイワ技研製)により120分間分散した。分散後ジルコニアビーズを除去し、3.0μmおよび0.8μmのメンブランフィルターで順に濾過してゴミおよび粗大粒子を取り除いた。AF−7 12.5g、ラウリン酸ヘキシル12.5gを加えて希釈して顔料分散した実施例1のインクを得た。
同様にして、表3に示す配合で、上記実施例1と同様にして各実施例および比較例のインクを得た。
各インクを密閉容器に入れて、70℃の環境下で4週間放置し、その後インクの粘度変化および粒度変化を測定し、その測定結果を以下のように評価した。
粘度/粒度変化率:
[(4週間後の粘度/粒度値×100)/(粘度/粒度の初期値)]−100(%)
A:粘度および粒度変化率がどちらも5%未満
B:粘度および粒度のどちらか一方でも変化率が5%以上10%未満
C:粘度および粒度のどちらか一方でも変化率が10%以上
得られたインクをHC5500(理想科学工業(株)製)に装填し、普通紙(理想用紙薄口、理想科学工業(株)製)に印刷したベタ画像の表面と裏面のOD値を、光学濃度計(RD920、マクベス社製)を用いて測定し、以下の基準で評価した。表面のOD値が高ければ画像濃度が高く、裏面のOD値が低ければ裏抜けが少ないことを示している。
印刷濃度(表OD)
A:1.10以上
B:1.05〜1.09
C:1.04以下
印刷濃度(裏OD)
A:0.25以下
B:0.26〜0.30
C:0.31以上
ORPHIS−X(理想科学社製)において、ヘッドギャップ3mm、環境温度15℃、印刷速度120ppm、解像度300dpi*300dpi1、6dropの印字条件でA4用紙に印字を行った。
A:サテライト(インクミストによる用紙の汚れ)がほとんどなく、画質は良好である
B:サテライトは若干あるが、画質は実用上問題ないレベルである
C:サテライトが顕著であり、画質は実用に差し支えるレベルである
得られたインクを遠心分離機H2000B(コクサン社製)で50000G、6時間遠心分離を行い、上澄み液と沈降物を得た。上澄み液について差動型示差熱天秤TG−DTA サーモプラスTG8120(リガク社製)にて顔料に吸着していない顔料分散剤の加熱残分を定量して、顔料に吸着した分散剤の比率を算出した。
以上の評価結果を、インクの処方とともに表3に示す。
Claims (4)
- 顔料と、非水系溶剤と、該非水系溶剤に溶解する顔料分散能を有する非水系樹脂とを含む非水系顔料インクであって、
前記非水系溶剤が炭化水素系非極性溶剤を溶剤全量に対し50質量%以上含み、
前記非水系樹脂は、(メタ)アクリレートの主鎖に対し、炭素数8〜18のアルキル基とウレタン基とが側鎖を構成する櫛形構造のアクリル系ポリマーであって、
該アクリル系ポリマーは、炭素数8〜18のアルキル基を有するアルキル(メタ)アクリレート(A)と、アミノ基と反応しうる官能基を有する反応性(メタ)アクリレート(B)と、β−ジケトン基またはβ−ケト酸エステル基を有するモノマー(C)とを含むモノマー混合物の共重合体に、前記アミノ基と反応しうる官能基とアミノアルコールと多価イソシアネート化合物との反応により前記ウレタン基が導入されたものであり、
前記モノマー混合物は、炭素数8〜18のアルキル基を有するアルキル(メタ)アクリレート(A)を30質量%以上、アミノ基と反応しうる官能基を有する反応性(メタ)アクリレート(B)を1〜30質量%、β−ジケトン基またはβ−ケト酸エステル基を有するモノマー(C)を3〜30質量%含み、
前記共重合体部と前記ウレタン基部との質量比率が80:20〜99:1であることを特徴とする非水系顔料インク。 - 前記側鎖のアルキル基の炭素数が12〜18であることを特徴とする請求項1記載の非水系顔料インク。
- 前記共重合体部と前記ウレタン基部との質量比率が85:15〜95:5であることを特徴とする請求項1または2記載の非水系顔料インク。
- 前記非水系溶剤が炭化水素系非極性溶剤を溶剤全量に対し70質量%以上含むことを特徴とする請求項1、2または3記載の非水系顔料インク。
