Description
水自体のライデンフロスト温度は、約160℃である。水溶性離型剤の主成分は水分であり、油脂等を配合した水溶性離型剤であっても、ライデンフロスト温度は、180〜200℃程度である。そのため、200℃以上の高温の金型へ水溶性離型剤を塗布すると、突沸を現し、離型剤成分を付着させることが困難である。部分的に金型の温度が高い場合には、水溶性離型剤を多く塗布し、金型を冷却している。そのため、水溶性離型剤の塗布量は大幅に増大してしまう。
第1の実施の形態によれば、石油系炭化水素溶剤(a)と、高温付着剤(b)とを含む油性離型剤が提供される。
引火点は、油性離型剤を使う作業所の気温以上である必要がある。43℃の引火点を有する灯油の引火点よりもさらに引火点の高い70℃以上であることが好ましい。一方、油性離型剤は、乾燥性が高いものが望ましい。乾燥性が低く、金型に残ってしまうと、油性離型剤が垂れ流れ、塗布膜の厚さにムラが生じ、焼付きや、離型成分の堆積による寸法精度のばらつき等の原因となってしまう。速乾性のペンキのように揮発速度の速い油性離型剤、つまり、適度な揮発性を有する170℃以下の引火点が好ましい。よって、油性離型剤の引火点は70℃〜170℃の範囲であることが好ましい。
油性離型剤中の溶剤は、金型に油性離型剤を塗布した後、金型面で蒸発する必要がある。これにより、有効成分の乾燥皮膜を形成し、潤滑性を確保する。蒸発性が低く、蒸発残分が出るような溶剤を使用した場合には、油性離型剤の垂れ流れが発生し、潤滑性に悪影響が出る。よって、蒸発性が高く、乾燥性の高い溶剤が好ましい。また、飽和炭化水素の含有量が高く、硫黄、窒素分を極端に低く抑えた高い精製度の石油系炭化水素溶剤(a)が好ましい。
300℃以上の金型では、従来の潤滑成分はほとんど分解してしまうため、安定した潤滑性を有するのが困難であった。また、分解ガスとなった潤滑成分は、溶湯と混ざり、ワークの内部に鋳巣として残り、ワークの強度悪化の原因となっていた。
上記以外に、その他の添加剤を配合することで、様々な効果を持たせることができる。具体的には、その他の添加剤を配合することによって、ライデンフロスト温度をさらに高めること、また、金型のサイズが大きい場合には、金型に温度ムラがあるので、これに対応した幅広い温度領域で、潤滑性を維持し、付着性を更に向上させ、耐熱性を更に向上させること等が可能となる。
(4)低揮発性導電改質剤(f)
本願の発明者らによる鋳造用油性離型剤の静電塗布技術(特許文献5)を用いることにより、第1の実施の形態にかかる油性離型剤の静電塗布が可能になる。これにより、油性離型剤の付着性が大幅に向上するため、複雑になりつつある金型の隠れた部位や凹凸部位あるいは細い部位にも、油性離型剤を過剰に塗布することなく十分な油膜を形成することが可能となる。しかし、この静電塗布技術は、高温耐熱性に対応していない。よって、高温耐熱性に対応するよう改良が必要である。
上記に記載の低揮発性導電改質剤(f)を油性離型剤に添加することにより、耐熱性を有する油性離型剤の静電塗布が可能となる。しかし、低揮発性導電改質剤(f)の分散安定性が低い場合には、白濁や分離する恐れがある。油性離型剤の品質を安定させるために、可溶化剤(g)を含んでもよい。
第3の実施の形態によると、第1の実施の形態の高温付着型油性離型剤を含む組成物を、ワークの外観不良の原因となる離型成分等の堆積を低減するための離型剤の塗布方法が提供される。
第4の実施の形態によると、第2の実施の形態にかかる耐熱性静電塗布型の油性離型剤を、金型に静電塗布するための静電塗布方法が提供される。第2の実施の形態にかかる耐熱性静電塗布型の油性離型剤は、静電塗布装置により静電効果を発生する。そのため、いわゆる回り込み効果により金型の隠れた部位や凹凸部位あるいは細い部位にも、均質で、かつ、十分な塗布膜を形成することができる。
常温で家庭用ミキサーに、石油系炭化水素溶剤(a)と高温付着剤(b)などを所定量投入し、300rpm程度の中速回転で3分間混合する。その後、残りの成分を所定量投入し、中速回転で5分ほど撹拌することにより、油性離型剤を得る。
(B−1)高温残存試験
セイコーインスツル株式会社(SII)製の示差熱熱重量同時測定装置(商品名:「EXSTAR6000(TG/DTA)」 図なし)及び株式会社エーアンドディ社(AND)製分析用電子天秤(商品名:「HR−202」 図なし)を用いて、高温残存試験を行った。既定量の試料を、所定の条件で加熱し、その際の試料の質量の変化を測定する。以下、本試験の操作手順を説明する。
油性離型剤の引火点は、ASTM D−93 ペンスキーマルテンス法で測定した。
油性離型剤の40℃における動粘度は、ASTM D445(ウベローデ粘度計)に沿って測定した。
100mm角・1mmの厚さの鉄製の試験片を、200℃で30分間、オーブン(図なし)にて空焼きする。その後、防湿庫等のデシケーター(図なし)で一晩放冷する。この試験片を市販の電気コンロ(図なし)に置き、加熱する。ピペットを用いて離型剤を一滴(約0.1cm3)、試験片の表面中央部分に滴下する。滴下直後の液滴を観察し、比較的動きが少ない状況下で沸騰するときの温度を測定し、この温度をライデンフロスト温度とした。温度が高いと液滴が飛び跳ねるので、その場合は、表面温度を10℃下げて、再度試験を行う。表面温度は、非接触型温度計で測定した。
図1は、付着量を測定するための付着試験機10を示す。付着試験機10は、ヒーター12と温度センサー(熱電対)16a、16bを内蔵した筐体13、及びこのヒーター12と温度センサー16a、16bとに接続された温度調節器11とを有する。温度調節器11は、設定された温度までヒーター12を加熱するための信号を発信することができる。また、温度センサー16a、16bから発信される信号により、所定温度以上になると、ヒーター12を停止することができる。
株式会社メックインターナショナル製の自動引張試験器(商品名:LubテスターU)を用いて、離型抵抗値を測定する。摩擦抵抗用試験板はSKD−61素材、サイズ200mm×200mm×34mmを、リングは株式会社メックインターナショナル製S45C素材、サイズ:内径75mm、外径100mm、高さ50mmを、アルミ溶湯はADC−12素材を、重石は鉄、重さ8.8kgを用いた。
100ccのビーカーに約50ccの油性離型剤の試料を採取し、旭サナック株式会社製の静電テスター(形式EM−III)にて電気抵抗を測定した。なお、測定値が高い値の場合には電気抵抗値の指示計が不安定であるので、5回測定の平均値を測定値とした。電気抵抗値が3〜400MΩの範囲内の場合には静電塗布を「可能」とした。また、電気抵抗値が3〜400MΩの範囲から外れている場合には、静電塗布を「不可」とした。
油性離型剤の試料20mlを試験管に採取し、白濁状況や分離状況を目視にて評価した。分離や白濁がなく透明のものを「A」、少し白濁しているものを「B」、白濁しており、長時間保管すると分離するものを「C」、白濁しており、短時間で分離してしまうものを「D」とした。
実機(1650tonのダイカストマシン)を用いて、離型剤性能の確認のためのミガキ寿命試験を行った。実施例1及び比較例1で得られた油性離型剤を、エアーアトマイズスプレーにより実機の金型に塗布し、鋳込みを行うという工程を繰り返し、実行した。なお、実機の金型の温度は、300〜400℃であり、油性離型剤の流量は0.1〜0.5mL/秒であった。この場合、ミスト径は10〜30μmであり、粒子速度は10〜30m/秒であった。また、スプレー装置のノズル先端から、塗布面である金型までのガン距離は、100〜200mmであった。
第1の実施の形態に係る試験に使用した油性離型剤の配合組成を表1に示す。

Claims (8)
- 石油系炭化水素溶剤(a)と、分子量100,000以上のジメチルポリシロキサンとを含有する高温耐熱性油性離型剤。
- 石油系炭化水素溶剤(a)は、パラフィン系炭化水素溶剤、オレフィン系炭化水素溶剤、ナフテン系炭化水素溶剤、及び芳香族系炭化水素溶剤からなる群より選ばれる1種以上である、請求項1に記載の高温耐熱性油性離型剤。
- さらに、イミダゾリウム塩(f−1)、ピロリジニウム塩(f−2)、ピリジニウム塩(f−3)、アンモニウム塩(f−4)、ホスホニウム塩(f−5)及びスルホニウム塩(f−6)からなる群より選ばれる1種以上の化合物を含む、請求項1又は2に記載の高温耐熱性油性離型剤。
- さらに、40℃における動粘度が100mm2/s以上である鉱油及び/又は合成油(c−1)、動植物油脂類及び高級脂肪酸エステル類(c−2)、有機モリブデン類(c−3)、並びに、油溶性石鹸類(c−4)からなる群より選ばれる1種以上を含む潤滑添加剤(c)を含有する、請求項1〜3のいずれかに記載の高温耐熱性油性離型剤。

- 請求項1〜4のいずれかに記載の高温耐熱性油性離型剤を用いて、2〜50m/秒の粒子速度で、ミスト径が0.1〜60μmとなるように金型に塗布する、高温耐熱性油性離型剤の塗布方法。
- 請求項5または6に記載の高温耐熱性静電塗布型油性離型剤を、金型に静電塗布する、高温耐熱性静電塗布型油性離型剤の静電塗布方法。
