Description
本発明は、以下の処理を実行することによっても実現される。即ち、上述した実施形態の機能を実現するソフトウェア(プログラム)をネットワーク又は各種記憶媒体を介してシステム或いは装置に供給し、そのシステム或いは装置のコンピュータ(又はCPUやMPU等)がプログラムコードを読み出して実行する処理である。この場合、そのプログラム、及び該プログラムを記憶した記憶媒体は本発明を構成することになる。

Claims (8)
- プリンタエンジンと、
前記プリンタエンジンに印刷を実行させる印刷ジョブに基づいて前記プリンタエンジンを制御するコントローラと、を備える画像形成装置であって、
消費電力を低減する指示を検知してから予め定められた時間が経過したことに基づいて、前記プリンタエンジンへの電源供給を遮断する第1の遮断手段と、
前記消費電力を低減する前記指示を検知したことに基づいて、前記コントローラに、前記印刷ジョブの削除処理を実行させるための削除指示を発行する発行手段と、
前記発行手段によって発行された前記削除指示に基づいて実行された前記削除処理の完了を待たずに、前記プリンタエンジンに、前記プリンタエンジンを保護するための動作を行わせるためのエンジン保護指示を発行する制御手段と、
前記制御手段によって発行された前記エンジン保護指示に基づいて実行された前記プリンタエンジンを保護するための前記動作の完了に基づいて、前記プリンタエンジンへの電源供給を遮断する第2の遮断手段と、
を備えたことを特徴とする画像形成装置。 - 前記プリンタエンジンは、感光ドラム、及び、前記感光ドラムから画像が転写される中間転写ベルトを備え、
前記プリンタエンジンを保護するための前記動作は、前記感光ドラムと、前記中間転写ベルトとを相対的に離間させる動作であることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の画像形成装置。 - 前記プリンタエンジンは、用紙に画像を定着させるための定着部及び加圧部を備え、
前記プリンタエンジンを保護するための前記動作は、前記定着部と、前記加圧部とを相対的に離間させる動作であることを特徴とする請求項1または2に記載の画像形成装置。 - 前記第1の遮断手段は、前記印刷ジョブの前記削除処理の完了を待たずに、前記予め定められた時間が経過したことに基づいて前記プリンタエンジンへの電源供給を遮断することを特徴とする請求項1乃至3のいずれか1項に記載の画像形成装置。
- 前記消費電力を低減する前記指示は、前記画像形成装置を省電力状態に移行するための指示であることを特徴とする請求項1乃至4のいずれか1項に記載の画像形成装置。
- 前記消費電力を低減する前記指示は、前記画像形成装置の電源をオフにするための指示であることを特徴とする請求項1乃至4のいずれか1項に記載の画像形成装置。
- プリンタエンジンと、前記プリンタエンジンに印刷を実行させる印刷ジョブに基づいて前記プリンタエンジンを制御するコントローラと、を備える画像形成装置の制御方法において、
消費電力を低減する指示を検知してから予め定められた時間が経過したことに基づいて、前記プリンタエンジンへの電源供給を遮断する第1の遮断ステップと、
前記消費電力を低減する前記指示を検知したことに基づいて、前記コントローラに、前記印刷ジョブの削除処理を実行させるための削除指示を発行する発行ステップと、
前記発行ステップによって発行された前記削除指示に基づいて実行された前記削除処理の完了を待たずに、前記プリンタエンジンに、前記プリンタエンジンを保護するための動作を行わせるためのエンジン保護指示を発行する制御ステップと、
前記制御ステップによって発行された前記エンジン保護指示に基づいて実行された前記プリンタエンジンを保護するための前記動作の完了に基づいて、前記プリンタエンジンへの電源供給を遮断する第2の遮断ステップと、
を備えたことを特徴とする画像形成装置の制御方法。 - 請求項7に記載された画像形成装置の制御方法を、コンピュータに実行させるためのプログラム。
