I.基材の製造
例1a
粗いフレークの形態である1kgの白雲母(Muscovite mica)を、Koller法により、すり砕いて、200μm未満の粒径にする。このようにして形成された微細な雲母フレークを、ローター−ステーターミルに導入し、1lの脱イオン水を添加する。得られた懸濁物を、そのミルにおいて、5時間すり砕き、同時に、その間に、フレークの表面が、磨かれて滑らかになる。粉砕ステップの間の粒子の機械的負荷を、永続的なせん断により、粒子のさらなる緩やかな層間剥離、ならびに縁および表面の平滑化がもたらされるように選択する。狭い粒径分布は、複数の沈降ステップ(少なくとも3ステップ)の形態をとるその後の分級ステップによって実現される。このようにして製造された雲母フレークは、粒径分布が10〜40μmであり、厚さ分布が0.2から0.6μmであり(各場合において、すべての粒子の90%(1kgの雲母の粒子の、粒子の数基準の%))、ほんのわずかしか鋭い縁をもたない滑らかに磨かれた表面を有する。円形係数は、1.6である。
1kgの合成雲母フレークを、例1aと同様に処理する。円形係数が1.6である合成雲母フレークが得られる。
例2.1:天然雲母+SnO2+TiO2
例1aからの100gの天然雲母フレークを、2lの脱イオン水中で、撹拌しながら75℃に温める。SnCl4溶液(22g/l)の滴下添加によって、コーティングのpH1.8を確立する。100mlのSnCl4溶液(22g/l)の残りをその後計量注入する(metered in)。この添加の間、32%水酸化ナトリウム溶液を使用して、pHを、1.8に一定に保つ。添加が完了したら、混合物を、さらに10分間撹拌する。
例1bからの75gの合成雲母フレークを、1500mlの脱イオン水と共に、撹拌しながら75℃に温める。次いで、塩酸(15%HCl)を使用して、懸濁物のpHを、1.8に調整する。その後、75mlのSnCl4溶液(22g/l)を計量注入する。この添加の間、32%水酸化ナトリウム溶液を使用して、pHを、1.8に一定に保つ。添加が完了したら、混合物を、さらに10分間撹拌する。
Lab値(Eta測定器(Eta measuring instrument)、測定角75°/95°を使用して測定する)を、Merck KGaA製のIriodin(登録商標)205(雲母フレークに基づく黄色干渉顔料)について、および例2.1からの顔料について、黒/白コーティングカード(NCラッカー)を基準にして決定する。
例A:シャワージェル
相Aについて、干渉顔料を水中で撹拌する。撹拌しながら、Keltrol Tに徐々に分散させ、それが溶解するまで撹拌する。相BおよびCを逐次的に添加し、同時にすべてのものが均一に分布するまでゆっくり撹拌する。pHを6.0から6.4に調整する。

1kgのポリスチレン細粒を、タンブルミキサーにおいて、5gの結合剤(coupling agent)で均一にぬらす。次いで、例2.2からの42gの緑色の干渉顔料を添加し、混合物を2分間混合する。これらの細粒を、通常の条件下で、射出成形機において、4×3×0.5cmの寸法を有する段付プレート(stepped plates)に変える。段付プレートは、その強い輝き効果(sparkle effect)によって特徴づけられる。

所望の色塗布を達成するまで、発泡性ハードキャンディに、干渉顔料/シェラック溶液をスプレーする。続いて、冷たい空気を使用して乾燥させることが可能である。
例2.2からの顔料を、自動車用塗料に容易に組み込むことができる。この目的のために、例2.2からの顔料を、撹拌しながらその塗料ベースに添加する。顔料が、その塗料において均一に分布するまで、撹拌操作を継続する。着色された塗料を、黒および白をコーティングされたアルミニウムの試験シート上にスプレーする。

- 高屈折率層が、TiO2、BiOCl、Ce2O3、Cr2O3、CoO、Co3O4、Fe2O3、Fe3O4、FeOOH、NiO、SnO2、VO2、V2O3、ZrO2、ZnO、CoAl2O4、BiVO4、チタン酸鉄、酸化鉄水和物、Ti3O5、Ti2O3、TiO、Ce2S3、MoS2、アルミニウム、クロム、ニッケル、銀、金、チタン、銅、またはそれらの合金、または、これらの物質の相互の混合物または混合相からなることを特徴とする、請求項1から9のいずれか一項に記載の効果顔料。
- 高屈折率層が、1種または複数の金属酸化物からなることを特徴とする、請求項1から10のいずれか一項に記載の効果顔料。
- 基材が、少なくとも1つの高屈折率層(n≧1.8)、および少なくとも1つの低屈折率層(n<1.8)によりコーティングされていることを特徴とする、請求項1から11のいずれか一項に記載の効果顔料。
- 低屈折率層が、SiO2、Al2O3、AlO(OH)、およびMgF2の群から選択されることを特徴とする、請求項1から12のいずれか一項に記載の効果顔料。
- 基材フレーク上に、以下の層配列のうちの一つを有することを特徴とする、請求項1から13のいずれか一項に記載の効果顔料:

- 請求項1から15のいずれか一項に記載の効果顔料を調製するための方法であって、
比較的に大きな塊または粗いフレークの形態の基材を、まず、すり砕き、その後、50〜200μmの直径を有する形成された基材フレークを、粉砕機に導入し、水および/または有機溶媒を添加し、このようにして形成された懸濁液を、該粉砕機において、数時間の間、機械的に処理し、同時に、その間に、フレークの表面が、磨かれて滑らかになり、このステップの間の基材粒子の機械的負荷を、永続的なせん断により、粒子のさらなる緩やかな層間剥離、ならびに縁および表面の平滑化がもたらされるように選択し、狭い粒径分布が、複数の沈降ステップの形態をとるその後の分級ステップによって実現されることを特徴とする方法。 - 前記粒径分布が、5〜60μmであることを特徴とする、請求項16に記載の方法。
- 塗料、自動車用塗料、工業用コーティング剤、コーティング剤、粉体コーティング剤、印刷インク、プラスチック、ボタンペースト、セラミック材料、もしくはガラスにおける、種子を着色するための、プラスチック、ガラス、ボール紙、もしくは紙のレーザーマーキングにおける吸収剤としての、プラスチックのレーザー溶着における吸収剤としての、食品もしくは医薬品を着色するための、食品もしくは医薬品のコーティングを着色するための、化粧用配合物における、顔料組成物もしくは乾燥調製物を調製するための、または価値のある書類の偽造防止における、請求項1から15のいずれか一項に記載の効果顔料の使用。
- 請求項1から15のいずれか一項に記載の1種または複数の効果顔料を含む、配合物。
- 前記効果顔料の他に、吸収剤、収斂剤、抗菌物質、抗酸化剤、発汗抑制剤、消泡剤、フケ防止活性成分、帯電防止剤、バインダー、生物学的添加剤、漂白剤、キレート剤、除臭剤、皮膚軟化剤、乳化剤、乳化安定剤、染料、保湿剤、膜形成剤、フィラー、におい物質、フレーバー物質、防虫剤、保存剤、防食剤、化粧オイル、溶剤、酸化剤、植物の構成物質、緩衝物質、還元剤、界面活性剤、推進剤ガス、乳白剤、UVフィルターおよびUV吸収剤、変性剤、粘度調節剤、香料、およびビタミンの群から選択される、少なくとも1種の成分を含むことを特徴とする、請求項19に記載の配合物。
- 1種または複数のバインダー、および請求項1から15のいずれか一項に記載の効果顔料を含む、顔料組成物。
- 請求項1から15のいずれか一項に記載の効果顔料を含む、乾燥調製物。
- 1種または複数の添加剤を含む、請求項21記載の顔料組成物。
