Description
図4Aおよび4Bを参照すると、罫書きせずに分割されたガラスシート102(図4A)と従来方法による被罫書ガラスシート400(図4B)とに対して行われた、2点曲げ試験の結果を夫々示す2つの図が図示されている。ガラスシート102および400は、分割方法以外は同一のものであり、2点曲げ試験を用いてこのガラスシート102および400の小さい面積上での曲げ応力を評価した。この試験では、2つのプレート402および404を使用して、ガラスシート102および400夫々を圧縮する。その後、ガラスシート102および400が破損したときに、2つのプレート402および404の間の距離を測定する。この距離は、ガラスシート102および400の応力を処理する性能に反比例し、2つのプレート402および404間の距離が小さければ小さいほど、ガラスシート102および400のガラスエッジの抵抗強度は高いものとなる。図4Aにおいて、罫書きされていないガラスシート102は、2つのプレート402および404の圧縮によって破損したときに比較的小さい半径を有し、ガラスエッジの強度が600MPaよりも大きいことを示した。図4Bにおいて、従来の被罫書ガラスシート400は、2つのプレート402および404の圧縮によって破損したときに比較的大きい半径を有し、ガラスエッジの強度が約200MPaであることを示した。
・提案した非罫書式分割技術についてより深い理解を得ることができるよう、装置100は容易に変更することができる。

Claims (4)
- 移動しているガラスシートをせん断する分割装置であって、
前記ガラスシートの少なくとも1つのエッジをせん断するために該ガラスシートのクラックを生成する既定の位置に応力プロファイルを生成するために前記ガラスシートに作用する手段を有する分割機構と、
前記少なくとも1つのエッジがせん断された後、前記ガラスシートの上部と下部を導くシート安定化装置(740a、740bと、908a、908cおよび/または908b、908d)と、を備えたことを特徴とする装置。 - 前記分割機構の前記手段が、前記ガラスシートが間を通過する1対のローラであり、該ローラが前記ガラスシートに作用して該ガラスシート内に前記応力プロファイルを生成することを特徴とする請求項1記載の分割装置。
- 前記分割機構が、前記ガラスシートが間を通過するローラ対(902a/902c、902b/902d)を備え、該ローラ対が、湾曲面を有する第1ローラ(902a、902b)と、平坦面を有する傾斜可能な第2ローラ(902c、902d)とを含み、該平坦面が、前記ガラスシートの表面に対して傾斜しかつ該ガラスシートに作用して、該ガラスシート内に前記応力プロファイルを生成することを特徴とする請求項1記載の分割装置。
- ガラス製造システム(700)であって、
バッチ材料を溶解し、さらに溶融ガラス(726)を形成する、少なくとも1つの槽(710、715、720、725)、
前記溶融ガラスを受け取ってガラスシート(705)を成形する、成形装置(730)、
前記ガラスシート(705)を延伸する牽引ローラアセンブリ(735)、
移動している前記ガラスシートを分割するための、1以上の分割装置(703a、703b)を含む非罫書式分割機(702)であって、前記分割装置の夫々が、
前記ガラスシート内に応力プロファイルを生成するために前記ガラスシートに作用する手段を有し、該応力プロファイルが、前記ガラスシートの既定の位置にクラック(962)を生成して、前記ガラスシートのエッジ(706a、706b)をせん断する分割機構(902a、902b、902c、902d、904a、904b、904c、904d)と、
前記ガラスシート内に前記クラックが形成された後にクラック伝播波の波前面(958)を制御し、かつ、せん断されたエッジを、残存部分のガラスシート(705´)から離れるよう導く、少なくとも2対の安定化ローラ対(908a、908b、908c、908d)と、
前記せん断されたエッジを前記残存部分のガラスシートから離れるようさらに導く、少なくとも1対の方向変更用ローラ対(910a、910b、910c、910d、912a、912b、912c、912d)と、
を含むものである、該非罫書式分割機、
前記残存部分のガラスシートを安定させる、少なくとも1つのシート安定化装置(740a、740b)、および、
前記残存部分のガラスシートが巻き付けられる巻取りローラ(745)、
を備えていることを特徴とするシステム。
