Description
本明細書で検討した様に、第一のポリマー成分(first polymer component (FPC))は広くどの様な「熱可塑性成分」でも良いが、これは「ゴム」ではない材料であり、例えば、熱に曝されると軟化し、室温に冷却されるとその元の状態に戻るポリマーの様に、当業者がその性質は熱可塑性であると考えるポリマー又はポリマーブレンドである全ての材料である。好ましくは、FPCは以下に開示される組成物の一つであり、及び融点を持つポリプロピレンであるのが良い。FPCは半結晶と考えられ、且つ強度及び硬度に寄与する。
本明細書で既に触れた様に、第二のポリマー成分(second polymer component (SPC) )は、好ましくはプロピレンポリマーであり、好ましくはアイソタクチックに配置されたプロピレン由来の配列を含み、プロピレンに由来する単位が60 重量%以上であり、及び、また以下に示す融点又は融解熱の一つ、例えば、105℃未満のTm、又は75 J/g未満の融解熱、又はその双方を持っているのが好ましい。SPCは、結晶化度が低く(2-65%)そしてエラストマーと見做すことも出来る。それは柔軟性及び軟らかさの理由ともなっている。
mm部分=PPP(mm)/[PPP(mm)+PPP(mr)+PPP(rr)]
PPP(mm)、PPP(mr)及びPPP(rr)は、頭から尾(head to tail)結合よりなる次の3つのプロピレン単位鎖中の第二単位のメチル基に由来するピーク領域を示す:

を用いて計算され、曲線下の面積はサンプルの融解熱であり、Bは主要モノマー成分のホモポリマーの融解熱である。Bのこれらの数値はJohn Wiley and Sons, New York 1999から出版されたPolymer Handbookより得ることができる。189 J/g (B)の数値が100%結晶ポリプロピレンの融解熱として使用される。相当の結晶化度を持つ半結晶性ポリマーは、融解温度及び溶融熱は、通常第二加熱サイクル(又は第二融解)中に測定され、報告される。比較的低いレベルの結晶化度を持つ半非結晶質ポリマーは、融解温度及び溶融熱は、通常第一加熱サイクル中に測定され、報告される。
本明細書に記載の組成物は炭化水素樹脂を含み、その樹脂は熱により重合されたジシクロペンタジエン樹脂であり、透明性を実現し、変色を最小にするために好ましくは水素添加されるのが良い。好ましい炭化水素樹脂は、当初のYIカラー(ASTM D-1925)が5未満、より好ましくは3未満、より好ましくは1未満であるのが良い。また炭化水素樹脂は、ハロゲン化ホウ素又はハロゲン化アルミニウムの様なフリーデル クラフト触媒を用いて生成された触媒的に重合された樹脂であることもある。炭化水素樹脂は脂環式樹脂であるか、又は適正な水準の芳香族を含むこともある。好ましくは、炭化水素樹脂はポリマー成分(FPC及びSPC)の両方又はその一つと混和するのが良い。また炭化水素樹脂自体は、澄んでおり、好ましくは無色で、又は透明であるか;好ましくは、無色透明の脂環式炭化水素樹脂であるべきである。特に好ましい炭化水素樹脂はExxonMobil Chemical Co.により供給されるOPPERA RP 104があり、この樹脂はTg が65度、及び軟化点が119 から125℃である。
一以上の実施の態様においては、SPCの様な個々の材料及び成分、一以上の熱可塑性成分、添加油、他の添加剤、可塑剤等は、熱可塑性成分の融点より高い温度で溶融混合によりブレンドしても良い。せん断(shear)及び混合(mixing)を起すことのできる機械の例として、混練機又は混合チップ(tip)又はねじ山(flight)を持つ混合要素を持つ押出機、一以上のスクリューを持つ押出機、共回転、又は逆回転タイプ押出機、バンベリーミキサー(Banbury mixer)、ファレル連続ミキサー(Farrell Continuous mixer)及びバス混練機(Buss Kneader)を含む。混合の種類及び強度、温度及び必要な滞留時間は、上に記載の機械の何れか一つと、混練、又は混合要素、スクリューの設計、及びスクリューの速度(<3000 RPM)から選択されたものとを組合せることで、実現することができる。ブレンドは添加剤を含み、これらの添加剤は他の成分と同時に、又は押出機又はバス混練機を用いる場合は後に下流において、又は時間的に後にのみ導入することができる。その様な添加剤の例には、抗酸化剤、プロセスオイル、ブロッッキング防止剤、静電防止剤、紫外線発泡剤、加工助剤がある。その様な添加剤は、ブレンドの全重量に基づき、重量で約0.1から約10%含んでいても良い。添加剤は純粋な形で又は親練り(masterbatch)の形でブレンドに加えることができる。プロセスオイル又は可塑剤は、一度に又は数度に分けて加えても良い。好ましくは、可塑剤は、SPC及び一以上の熱可塑性成分を十分溶融させた状態で混合した後に加えるのが良い。ブレンドはミキサーから取り出した後に、加工し、次の技術、すなわち、ミリング、チョッピング、押出し、ペレット化、射出成形又はこれら以外の望ましい技術の一以上のものを用いて、熱可塑性構造を形成するために加工することができる。
以下に種々の特定の実施の態様を示すが、少なくともこれらの内の幾つかは特許請求の範囲に記述されている。例えば、少なくともある一つの実施の態様は、ある組成物に関するものであり(例えば、発明の概要に示す様に)、その組成物はさらに添加剤オイルをFPC、SPC、炭化水素樹脂、及び添加剤オイルの全重量に基づいて1重量%から30重量%の量で含む。この組成物は他の通常知られている添加剤、例えば、加工助剤、熱安定剤、UV安定剤及び着色剤を(ブレンドの全重量に基づき)0 から2 重量%の量で含んでも良い。
以下の表は、選択された成分及び比率に基づく特性中の、相違のみならず、種々の組成物(サンプル)に関する。
表2において、サンプル5,6,8,9を比較例のサンプルとする。
以下の実施例13−53のSPCは以下の手順で生成された。二重ピッチ(dual pitch)ブレード タービン かくはん器を備えた、27リットル連続フロー攪拌タンク反応器(Continuous Flow Stirred Tank Reactor)中で、1時間あたり、92 kgの乾燥したヘキサン、34 kgのプロピレン及び1.8 kgのエチレンが加えられた。重合の全工程を通じて重合ゾーンの全領域が同じ組成を持つ様に反応器は、反応中650 rpmで攪拌され、1600 psig (11 MPa)の気圧で、液体が十分存在する様に保たれた。トルエン中の1.56 mgのジメチルシリルインデニル ジメチルハフニウム(diniethylsilylindenyl dimethyl hafnium)の触媒溶液、及び2.42 mgのジメチルアニリニウムーテトラキス(ヘプタフルオロナフチル)ボレート(diniethylanilinium tetrakis (heptafluoronaphthyl) borate)が、6.35 ml/分の割合で加えられた。更にtri-n-オクチル アルミニウム(tri-n-octyl aluminum (TNOA))が重合中に加えられ余分な湿気が除去された。重合は約59℃の温度で行われ、重合の間、事前に−3℃から2℃の範囲に冷却されたヘキサンを加えて維持された。ポリマーは、溶媒を2段階で除去、すなわち、第一に、WO0234795A1に記載の、低臨界溶液プロセス(lower critical solution process)を用いて溶媒の70%を除去し、その後LIST脱蔵押出機(devolatization extruder)中の残りの溶媒を除去した。ポリマーは、主軸で0.32-0.64 cm (約1/8 から1/4インチ)のペレットとして回収された。ポリマーの組成は、原料中のプロピレンのエチレンに対する比率を変えることで調製された。分子量及びMFRは、モノマーの重合触媒に対する比率並びに重合混合物の温度により調製した。重合温度が高いほど、及び触媒のモノマーに対する比率が高いほど、分子量が低いものが生成された。以下の実施例のSPC1及びSPC2は、上に述べた一般的な手順に従い生成されたものである。SPC1及びSPC2の組成及びMFRは以下に示す:
Claims (24)
- 組成物であって:
少なくとも25重量%のプロピレン及び、2から12の炭素原子を持つアルファオレフィンから選択される少なくとも一つのコモノマーを含む第一のポリマー成分(first polymer component (FPC))であって、MFR @ 230℃が25g/10分以上、及び110℃以上の融点を持つFPC;及び
少なくとも60重量%のプロピレン並びに、エチレン及び4から12の炭素原子を持つアルファオレフィンよりなる群から選択される少なくとも一つのコモノマーを含む第二のポリマー成分(second polymer component (SPC))であり、融解熱が1から75 J/g、及び50%から99%の三つ組立体規則性を持ち、そしてMFR @ 230℃が800g/10分以下の第二のポリマー成分(second polymer component (SPC));及び
ガラス転移温度が20℃から90℃であり、そして軟化点が80℃から180℃である炭化水素樹脂、
を含む前記組成物。 - 前記SPCが、SPC中のプロピレン及びエチレンの合計重量に基づき、75−94重量%のプロピレン及び6−25重量%のエチレンを含む、請求項1の組成物。
- 前記SPCが、SPC中のプロピレン及びエチレンの合計重量に基づき、75−93重量%のプロピレン及び7−25重量%のエチレンを含む、請求項2の組成物。
- 前記SPCが、SPC中のプロピレン及びエチレンの合計重量に基づき、82.5−93重量%のプロピレン及び7−17.5重量%のエチレンを含む、請求項3の組成物。
- 前記SPCのMFRが500g/10分以下である、請求項1乃至4のいずれか1項の組成物。
- 前記SPCのMFRが200g/10分以下である、請求項5の組成物。
- 前記SPCのMFRが100g/10分以下である、請求項6の組成物。
