Description
直径0.635mm(25ミル)の糸ハンダ(44号ヤニ芯、ケスター社(Kester Inc.)(イリノイ州グレンビュー)より市販のもの)の試料を18cmの長さに切断した。両端から等しい距離にある中央の15cmの部分を1mm径の導線上に巻き、ピッチを調節して長さ3cmのコイルを得た。伝導体として機能する導線を、支持部材として機能する直鎖状低密度ポリエチレン(LLDPE)フィルム(Flexol ER276037)内に熱シールして導線の両端を電気接点として露出させ、コネクタを形成した。次いで熱シールしたフィルムの両端に2個のタブを取付けて導線のコイル状に巻かれた両端のすぐ外側の真っ直ぐな端部を部分的に被覆した。導線の両端の抵抗をマルチメータで測定したところ1.3Ωであった。次いで2個のタブをそれぞれの手の親指と人差し指との間でしっかりとつまんでLLDPE積層体とコイル状導線とからなるコネクタを引っ張って、両タブ間の3cmの部分を15cmの長さにまで引き伸ばした。この過程において、導線のコイルは解かれて直線状となった。導線の両端の抵抗を再び測定したところ、1.3Ωで変化していなかった。
本発明はまた、以下の内容を包含する。
(1)可変長を有する粘弾性支持部材と、
前記支持部材に連結された伝導体であって、前記粘弾性支持部材の可変長に対応するように少なくとも1つの屈曲部を含む前記伝導体と、を含む、伝導コネクタ。
(2)前記支持部材が第1の支持部材であり、更に第2の支持部材を含み、前記伝導体が前記第1の支持部材と前記第2の支持部材との間に連結されている、項目(1)に記載の伝導コネクタ。
(3)前記伝導体が前記支持部材に埋め込まれている、項目(1)又は(2)に記載の伝導コネクタ。
(4)前記支持部材が内部空間を画定し、前記伝導体が前記支持部材の前記内部空間内に位置決めされる、項目(1)〜(3)のいずれか一項に記載の伝導コネクタ。
(5)前記伝導体が螺旋状の形態を有する、項目(1)〜(4)のいずれか一項に記載の伝導コネクタ。
(6)前記伝導コネクタの少なくとも一部分が放射線透過性である、項目(1)〜(5)のいずれか一項に記載の伝導コネクタ。
(7)前記伝導コネクタの少なくとも一部分が使い捨て可能である、項目(1)〜(6)のいずれか一項に記載の伝導コネクタ。
(8)前記伝導体が伝導性厚膜積層体を含む、項目(1)〜(7)のいずれか一項に記載の伝導コネクタ。
(9)前記支持部材が少なくとも1つのスリット又は低強度領域を含む、項目(1)〜(8)のいずれか一項に記載の伝導コネクタ。
(10)2点間の導通路を提供する方法であって、
第1の端部及び第2の端部を有し、電磁的信号、電気的信号、音響的信号、機械的信号、熱的信号、及び化学的信号の少なくとも1つについて第1の点と第2の点との間に経路を設けるように構成された可変長コネクタを提供することと、
前記コネクタの長さを変化させることによって前記第1の点と前記第2の点との間に適当な距離を設けることと、
前記コネクタの前記第1の端部を前記第1の点に連結することと、
前記コネクタの前記第2の端部を前記第2の点に連結することと、を含む方法。
(11)前記コネクタの長さを変化させることが、前記コネクタの前記第1の端部を前記第1の点に連結すること、及び前記コネクタの前記第2の端部を前記第2の点に連結することの少なくとも一方に先立って行われる、項目(10)に記載の方法。
(12)前記コネクタの長さを変化させることが、前記コネクタの長さを1回目に変化させることによって前記コネクタの前記第1の端部と前記コネクタの前記第2の端部との間に第1の距離を設けること、更に前記コネクタの長さを2回目に変化させることによって前記コネクタの前記第1の端部と前記コネクタの前記第2の端部との間に第2の距離を設けることと、を含む、項目(10)又は(11)に記載の方法。
(13)前記コネクタの長さを変化させることが、前記可変長コネクタを長くすることを含み、前記第2の距離が前記第1の距離よりも大きい、項目(12)に記載の方法。
(14)前記コネクタの長さを2回目に変化させることが、前記コネクタの前記第1の端部を前記第1の点に連結すること、及び前記コネクタの前記第2の端部を前記第2の点に連結することの少なくとも一方の後に行われる、項目(12)又は(13)に記載の方法。
(15)前記可変長コネクタの長さを変化させることが、前記可変長コネクタを短くすることによって前記コネクタの前記第1の端部と前記コネクタの前記第2の端部との間の距離を減少することを含む、項目(10)〜(14)のいずれか一項に記載の方法。
Claims (3)
- 少なくとも300%の伸び率を可能とする、可変長を有する粘弾性支持部材と、
前記粘弾性支持部材の前記可変長に対応するように少なくとも1つの屈曲部を含む伝導体であって、前記粘弾性支持部材の前記可変長に対応可能なように前記粘弾性支持部材に連結された、前記伝導体と、
を含み、
(i)前記伝導体が前記粘弾性支持部材に埋め込まれているか、或いは
(ii)前記粘弾性支持部材が第1の粘弾性支持部材と第2の粘弾性支持部材を含み、前記伝導体が前記第1の粘弾性支持部材と前記第2の粘弾性支持部材との間に連結されている、
伝導コネクタ。 - 前記伝導体が、螺旋状の形態を含む、請求項1に記載の伝導コネクタ。
- 前記伝導体が、伝導性厚膜積層体を含む、請求項1に記載の伝導コネクタ。
