図1及び図2は本発明の第1の実施形態に係る燃料電池用高分子電解質膜の断面を拡大して示した模式図である。図1に示したように,本実施形態に係る燃料電池用高分子電解質膜100は,微細気孔101を有する多孔性支持体103の気孔の内部表面に金属イオン吸着性物質及び水素イオン伝導性高分子105が充填されている。また,図2に示したように,燃料電池用高分子電解質膜200は,多孔性支持体203の微細気孔211の内部表面に形成された金属イオン吸着性物質層205及び上記金属イオン吸着性物質層205が形成された多孔性支持体の微細気孔の内部に存在する水素イオン伝導性高分子207を含む。

本発明の第2の実施形態によれば,図2に示したように,多孔性支持体203の微細気孔の内部に金属イオン吸着性物質層205を形成した後,水素イオン伝導性高分子207を充填することができる。多孔性支持体,金属イオン吸着性物質,及び水素イオン伝導性高分子は上記で説明した通りである。
(実施例)
16μmの厚さ及び70体積%の気孔度を有し,平均直径が3μmの開放型微細気孔が形成されたポリテトラフルオロエチレンフィルムを準備した。別途に,金属イオン吸着性物質であるポリアクリル酸を水に3質量%の濃度で溶解して製造された溶液,及び15質量%のポリ(パーフルオロスルホン酸)(Nafion112(登録商標),DuPont社製)アルコール溶液を混合した。
16μmの厚さ及び70体積%の気孔度を有し,平均直径が3μmの開放型微細気孔が形成されたポリテトラフルオロエチレンフィルムを準備した。別途に,金属イオン吸着性物質であるポリアクリル酸を水に3質量%の濃度で溶解して溶液を製造した。
20μmの厚さ及び70体積%の気孔度を有し,平均直径が5μmの開放型微細気孔が形成されたポリテトラフルオロエチレンフィルムを準備して,別途に,金属イオン吸着性物質であるゼオライト(1g)をバインダー成分であるNafion(0.2g)と共にイソプロピルアルコール(15g)に分散させて溶解して溶液を製造した。
ポリ(パーフルオロスルホン酸)(Nafion112(登録商標),DuPont社製)70質量%(7g)及びポリアクリル酸30質量%(3g)をジメチルアセテート溶媒100mlの中で混合して高分子電解質膜形成用組成物を製造し,これをフィルム形態に成形して50μmの厚さの高分子電解質膜を製造した。
上記の実施例2でポリアクリル酸水溶液のコーティング段階を省略することを除いては実施例1と同一に実施して,多孔性ポリテトラフルオロエチレンフィルムにポリ(パーフルオロスルホン酸)(Nafion112(登録商標),DuPont社製)を含浸させた燃料電池用高分子電解質膜を製造した。

Claims (4)
- 金属イオン吸着性物質及び水素イオン伝導性高分子を、5:95〜50:50の質量比で含み、
前記金属イオン吸着性物質はアルミナであることを特徴とする、燃料電池用高分子電解質膜。 - 前記水素イオン伝導性高分子は、以下の式により定義される膨張比で5〜50質量%の含湿性を有することを特徴とする、請求項1記載の燃料電池用高分子電解質膜。
水素イオン伝導性高分子の膨張比=[含湿された水の質量/(含湿された水の質量+高分子の質量)]×100(%) - 前記水素イオン伝導性高分子は、パーフルオロ系高分子、ベンズイミダゾル系高分子、ポリイミド系高分子、ポリエーテルイミド系高分子、ポリフェニレンスルフィド系高分子、ポリスルホン系高分子、ポリエーテルスルホン系高分子、ポリエーテルケトン系高分子、ポリエーテル−エーテルケトン系高分子、及びポリフェニルキノキサリン系高分子からなる群から選択される1種以上であることを特徴とする、請求項1または2に記載の燃料電池用高分子電解質膜。
- 前記燃料電池用高分子電解質膜は、前記水素イオン伝導性高分子及び前記金属イオン吸着性物質を混合してコーティング溶液を製造した後、離型フィルム上にコーティング及び乾燥して離型フィルムを剥離する段階を含む製造方法によって製造されることを特徴とする、請求項1〜3のいずれか1項に記載の燃料電池用高分子電解質膜。
