Description
複数のシリンドリカルレンズがそれぞれのレンズ面の母線に対して直交する方向に並んだシリンドリカルレンズアレイを有するレンズアレイユニットと、前記母線が延出する母線方向とは異なる方向に沿って帯状に延出するとともにくの字状に形成された画素電極を各画素に備え、前記レンズアレイユニットの背面側に配置された第1基板と、前記画素電極と平行な方向に沿って帯状に延出するとともに前記画素電極の直上の位置に並んで配置された対向電極を複数の画素に対して共通に備え、前記レンズアレイユニットと前記第1基板との間に配置された第2基板と、前記第1基板と前記第2基板との間に保持された液晶分子を含む液晶層と、を備えたことを特徴とする液晶表示装置が提供される。

Claims (8)
- 複数のシリンドリカルレンズがそれぞれのレンズ面の母線に対して直交する方向に並んだシリンドリカルレンズアレイを有するレンズアレイユニットと、
ゲート配線と、各画素に備えられた画素電極とであって前記母線が延出する母線方向とは異なる方向に沿って帯状に延出するとともにくの字状に形成された画素電極とを備え、前記レンズアレイユニットの背面側に配置された第1基板と、
前記画素電極と平行な方向に沿って帯状に延出するとともに前記画素電極の直上の位置を挟んだ両側に配置された対向電極を複数の画素に対して共通に備え、前記レンズアレイユニットと前記第1基板との間に配置された第2基板と、
前記第1基板と前記第2基板との間に保持された液晶分子を含む液晶層と、
を備え、
前記画素電極は、前記母線方向とは異なる第1延出方向に沿って帯状に延出した第1主電極、及び、前記母線方向及び前記第1延出方向とは異なる第2延出方向に沿って帯状に延出し前記第1主電極に結合した第2主電極を含みくの字状に形成されるとともに、前記第1主電極と前記第2主電極との結合部から前記ゲート配線と略平行な方向に沿って帯状に延出するとともに前記ゲート配線の直上に配置された第1副電極を含むことを特徴とする液晶表示装置。 - 前記液晶分子が明表示に対応した配向状態にあるとき、前記シリドンリカルレンズの並び方向に沿った各位置での前記母線は、少なくとも1箇所以上の明領域と交差することを特徴とする請求項1に記載の液晶表示装置。
- 前記シリドンリカルレンズの並び方向に沿った各位置での前記母線は、明領域及び暗領域と交差し、各位置での前記母線が明領域と交差する線分の長さは略一定であることを特徴とする請求項2に記載の液晶表示装置。
- 前記シリドンリカルレンズの並び方向に沿った各位置での前記母線は、前記画素電極及び前記対向電極の少なくとも一方と交差することを特徴とする請求項1に記載の液晶表示装置。
- 前記シリドンリカルレンズの並び方向に沿った各位置での前記母線は、前記画素電極及び前記対向電極と交差し、各位置での前記母線が前記画素電極と前記対向電極との間の開口部と交差する線分の長さは略一定であることを特徴とする請求項4に記載の液晶表示装置。
- 前記対向電極は、前記母線方向とは異なる第1延出方向に沿って帯状に延出した第3主電極、及び、前記母線方向及び前記第1延出方向とは異なる第2延出方向に沿って帯状に延出し前記第3主電極に結合した第4主電極を各々含むことを特徴とする請求項1乃至5のいずれか1項に記載の液晶表示装置。
- 前記対向電極は、さらに、前記第3主電極と前記第4主電極との結合部から前記第1副電極と略平行な方向に沿って帯状に延出するとともに前記第1副電極の直上に配置された第2副電極を含むことを特徴とする請求項6に記載の液晶表示装置。
- 前記液晶分子は、前記画素電極と前記対向電極との間に電界が形成されていない状態で前記母線方向または前記シリドンリカルレンズの並び方向に初期配向していることを特徴とする請求項1乃至7のいずれか1項に記載の液晶表示装置。
