Description
また、貯留部材は、電池ケースとは別部材としても良いし、電池ケース(その一部)を貯留部材としても良い。
次に、本発明の実施形態について、図面を参照しつつ説明する。
本実施形態の非水電解質二次電池100は、図1〜図5に示すように、直方体形状の電池ケース110と、正極外部端子120と、負極外部端子130とを備える、角形密閉式のリチウムイオン二次電池である。このうち、電池ケース110は、直方体形状の収容空間をなす金属製の角形収容部111と金属製の蓋部112とを有するハードケースである。電池ケース110(角形収容部111)の内部には、電極体150などが配置されている。なお、非水電解質二次電池100の定格容量(公称容量)は5.5Ahである。
また、負極外部端子130は、負極集電部132を通じて、電極体150の他端部(図3において左端部)に位置する負極捲回部150cに電気的に接続されている。なお、負極捲回部150cは、負極活物質未塗工部156bが捲回された部位である。
まず、ハイレートサイクル充放電試験を行う前に、25℃の温度環境下で、非水電解質二次電池100の電池容量(この電池容量をサイクル前容量とする)を測定した。具体的には、非水電解質二次電池100の電池電圧が4.2Vに達するまで、1C(5.5A)の定電流で充電を行い、引き続き、非水電解質二次電池100の電池電圧を4.2Vに保ちつつ、電流値が0.1C(0.55A)になるまで充電を行った。これにより、非水電解質二次電池100をSOC100%にした。
また、SOCは、State Of Charge(充電状態、充電率)の略である。
その後、電流値を3C(16.5A)、5C(27.5A)、10C(55A)と順に変更して、非水電解質二次電池100について、上述(1Cの電流値)のように、10秒間のパルス放電と、その後の電池電圧測定と、10秒間のパルス充電とを行った。
また、比較形態の非水電解質二次電池についても、実施形態の非水電解質二次電池100と同様にしてサイクル前DC−IRを測定したところ、3.1mΩであった。これらの結果を表1に示す。
また、比較形態の非水電解質二次電池についても、実施形態の非水電解質二次電池100と同様にして、上述のハイレート充放電を2000サイクル行った。
まず、図7に示すように、帯状の正極集電部材151の表面に正極合剤152が塗工された正極板155を用意する。さらに、図8に示すように、帯状の負極集電部材158の表面に負極合剤159が塗工された負極板156を用意する。
実施形態では、貯留部材170を、電池ケース110とは別部材とした。具体的には、貯留部材170内に電極体150を収容して、第1貯留空間S1及び第2貯留空間S2を構成した。
これに対し、本変形形態の非水電解質二次電池200では、貯留部材を電池ケース210と別部材で設けることなく、電池ケース210の一部を貯留部材としている。

- 正極板、負極板、及びセパレータを有する電極体と、
上記電極体の内部に含まれた非水電解液と、を備える
非水電解質二次電池であって、
上記電極体の端面に隣接する貯留空間であって、上記電極体の上記端面の隙間を通じて上記電極体の内部から外部に押し出された上記非水電解液を貯留する貯留空間を構成する貯留部材を備え、
前記電極体は、
前記正極板、前記負極板、及び前記セパレータを扁平形状に捲回した電極体であって、当該電極体の上端部をなす上端側弧状部と、当該電極体の下端部をなす下端側弧状部と、上記上端側弧状部と上記下端側弧状部との間に位置する平坦部と、を有し、
前記貯留部材は、
上記電極体を収容する容器であって、前記下端側弧状部の弧状外面に沿って上記電極体の軸線方向に延びる弧状の内底面と、前記平坦部の外面に沿って上記電極体の軸線方向に延びる第1内側面及び第2内側面と、上記電極体の前記端面と離間して向かい合う第3内側面及び第4内側面とを有し、
上記電極体の上記端面は、上記第3内側面と向かい合う第1端面と、上記第4内側面と向かい合う第2端面とであり、
前記貯留空間として、
上記内底面と上記第1内側面及び上記第2内側面と上記第3内側面と上記電極体の第1端面とによって囲まれて構成された第1貯留空間と、
上記内底面と上記第1内側面及び上記第2内側面と上記第4内側面と上記電極体の第2端面とによって囲まれて構成された第2貯留空間と、を有する
非水電解質二次電池。 - 請求項1に記載の非水電解質二次電池であって、
金属製の電池ケースを備え、
前記貯留部材は、前記電極体を収容する容器であって、電気絶縁性樹脂からなり、
上記電極体を収容した上記貯留部材が上記電池ケース内に配置されてなる
