Description
Claims (18)
- 複数の反応容器用の支持部であって、各反応容器が、底部排液開口部を有し、該排液開口部が前記容器内の流体の選択されたヘッドを支持することができ、支持部が、複数の容器を、長手方向のスロットによって分離された少なくとも2つの列に支持する、前記支持部と、
支持された反応容器の底部排液開口部と連通するようになされた通路と、
支持された反応容器の排液開口部を介して選択的に流体を放出させることを可能にする、非大気圧の空気源と、
スロット内を、全体的に水平方向に延び、垂直方向に移動可能な磁石とを備えている、試料取扱装置用の処理ゾーン。 - 前記非大気圧の空気源が、前記通路内に真空を引くための真空源である請求項1に記載の処理ゾーン。
- 前記処理ゾーンに支持された反応容器を加熱するためのヒーターをさらに備える請求項1に記載の処理ゾーン。
- 前記反応容器が前記排液開口部を通る流体の放出なしに、流体の選択されたヘッドを支持するのに十分な表面張力を有する流体を選択的に収容するようになされ、前記非大気圧の空気源が、前記流体表面張力に打ち勝ち、流体を排液開口部を介して選択的に放出させるように、流体の頂部より相対的により低い圧力を排液開口部で選択的に作り出すようになされた請求項1に記載の処理ゾーン。
- 1つまたは複数の反応容器が、磁気微粒子に拘束されるべき検体を流体中に含んでおり、磁石は、磁気微粒子および拘束された検体を各容器の側面に引き寄せることができ、該磁石が、前記磁気微粒子および拘束された検体を一緒に引き寄せて、前記各反応容器内でペレットにするように、該各反応容器の高さに沿って垂直に移動することができる、請求項1に記載の処理ゾーン。
- 前記ペレットを前記各反応容器の底部側近くに形成するように、磁石が、各反応容器内の流体の頂部に近い上側位置から反応容器の底部に近い位置まで下側に移動することができる、請求項5に記載の処理ゾーン。
- 前記支持部が、複数の反応容器を、第1および第2の列の間の長手方向の第1のスロットと、第3および第4の列の間の長手方向の第2のスロットとによって分離された少なくとも4つの列に支持するようになっており、前記磁石が、第1のスロット内で垂直移動可能な第1の棒磁石と、第2のスロット内で垂直移動可能な第2の棒磁石とを備えている請求項1に記載の処理ゾーン。
- 前記第1および第2の棒磁石が一緒に垂直移動可能である請求項7に記載の処理ゾーン。
- 流体内に検体を含む複数の反応容器を支持するステップであって、反応容器の各々が、排液開口部を含む底部を有しており、排液開口部は、流体の表面張力によって前記反応容器内の流体の選択されたヘッドを支持することができ、複数の反応容器が、長手方向のスロットによって分離された少なくとも2つの列に支持されるようになっている、前記ステップと、
磁石をスロット内で全体的に水平方向に延在させるステップと、
磁石をスロット内で選択的に垂直に移動させるステップと、
前記検体を前記各排液開口部から離して濃縮するように、前記検体を1つまたは複数の前記容器の側面に引き寄せるステップと、
前記流体の表面張力に打ち勝ち、流体を排液開口部を介して放出させるのに十分な差圧を流体の頂部と排液開口部との間に選択的に作り出すステップとを含んでいる、反応容器内の流体内の検体を処理する方法。 - 前記選択的に差圧を作り出すステップが、前記排液開口部の下に真空を選択的に作り出すステップを含む請求項9に記載の方法。
- 前記引き寄せるステップが、
前記検体を磁気微粒子に拘束するステップと、
磁気微粒子および拘束された検体を各容器の側面に引き寄せる磁場を前記1つまたは複数の容器内に導入するステップとを含む請求項9に記載の方法。 - 前記磁気微粒子および拘束された検体を一緒に引き寄せて、前記各反応容器内でペレットにするように、前記磁場を前記各反応容器の高さに沿って垂直に移動させるステップをさらに含む請求項11に記載の方法。
- 前記移動させるステップが、前記ペレットを前記各反応容器の底部側近くに形成するように、各反応容器内の流体の頂部に近い上側位置から各反応容器の底部に近い位置まで前記磁場を下側に移動させる、請求項12に記載の方法。
- 複数の反応容器を、全体的に垂直な向きに、かつ画成された間隔によって分離された少なくとも2つの列に支持する支持部と、
支持された反応容器の片側に沿って選択された垂直移動のために支持される磁石とを備えており、
磁石は、全体的に水平に延び、かつ、画成された間隔内での選択された垂直移動のために第1のクロスサポートによって一端が支持されると共に第2のクロスサポートによって他端が支持されており、第1のクロスサポートおよび第2のクロスサポートが、ほぼ垂直な複数の案内ロッドに沿って移動可能である、試料取扱装置用の処理ゾーン。 - 列間の前記画成された間隔が全体的に垂直な長手方向スロットを備え、前記磁石が電磁石である請求項14に記載の処理ゾーン。
- 列間の前記画成された間隔が全体的に垂直な長手方向スロットを備え、前記磁石が棒磁石である請求項14に記載の処理ゾーン。
- 前記支持部が、全体的に平行な第1、第2、第3および第4の列の複数の反応容器を支持するものであり、
前記画成された間隔が、第1および第2の列の間の全体的に垂直な長手方向の第1のスロットと第3および第4の列の間の全体的に垂直な長手方向の第2のスロットを備え、
前記棒磁石が、第1のスロット内の選択された垂直移動のために支持される第1の棒磁石と第2のスロット内の選択された垂直移動のために支持される第2の棒磁石を備える請求項16に記載の処理ゾーン。 - 前記第1および第2の棒磁石が一緒の垂直移動のために支持される請求項17に記載の処理ゾーン。
