Description
RGBの3つの原色の色度点としては、sRGB以外により広い色再現域を示すNTSC(National Television Standards Committee) RGB等が決められている。NTSC RGBは、sRGBよりも再現できる色の範囲は広い。
なお、それぞれの発光色のみを表示し、分光放射輝度計を用いて、発光波長、色度座標を測定した。
以下、具体的な実施例を挙げて本発明を詳細に説明する。
R・G・Bに黄色を発光する蛍光体を加えた4原色で上述のFEDを製造した。
蛍光体材料として、赤色にY2O2S:Eu、緑色にCaAl2S4:Eu、青色にZnS:Ag,Clを用いた。
蛍光材料として、赤色にY2O2S:Eu、緑色にCaAl2S4:Eu、青色にZnS:Ag,Cl、シアンにBaGa2S4:Euを用いた。
実施例1と同様の方法で、4原色FEDを作製した。
実施例1と同様の方法で、4原色FEDを作製した。
図7に示すようなEL素子を用いて、本発明のELパネルを作製した。

Claims (7)
- 赤色蛍光体が赤色発光領域となる赤色のピクセル、青色蛍光体が青色発光領域となる青色のピクセル、緑色蛍光体が緑色発光領域となる緑色のピクセル、及び黄色蛍光体が黄色発光領域となる黄色のピクセルの4つのピクセルにより1画素を構成する画像表示装置であって、
前記黄色のCIE色度座標(x、y)がCIE色度座標(0.670,0.330)と(0.210,0.710)と(0.140,0.080)とを結んだ三角形の外側で、且つ、CIE色度座標の可視領域内で、0.24≦x≦0.45及び0.56≦y≦0.76を満足することを特徴とする画像表示装置。 - 前記緑色のCIE色度座標(x、y)が、CIE色度座標の可視領域内で、x≦0.210、且つ、前記黄色のCIE色度座標のyよりも大きいことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の画像表示装置。
- 前記緑色のCIE色度座標(x、y)の前記yが、y≦0.710であることを特徴とする請求項2に記載の画像表示装置。
- 前記緑色のCIE色度座標(x、y)が、CIE色度座標の可視領域内で、前記黄色の色度座標(x、y)とCIE色度座標(0.210,0.710)を結んだ線分のNTSC RGBの色再現領域と対向する側で、x≦0.210、y≧0.710を満足する領域であることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の画像表示装置。
- 前記黄色の発光効率が、赤色、緑色及び青色の発光効率よりも高いことを特徴とする請求項1から4のいずれか1項に記載の画像表示装置。
- 前記1画素中の青色発光領域の面積が、赤色、緑色及び黄色の発光領域のいずれの面積よりも広いことを特徴とする請求項1から5のいずれか1項に記載の画像表示装置。
- 前記1画素中において、青色発光領域の面積>赤色発光領域の面積>緑色発光領域の面積>黄色発光領域の面積、の関係を有することを特徴とする請求項1から6のいずれか1項に記載の画像表示装置。
