Description
<実施例>
[液晶表示装置の構造]
図1は本発明の一実施例による液晶表示装置のブロック図である。また、図2は本発明の一実施例による液晶表示装置の、一つの画素に対する等価回路図である。
図3乃至図5bは本発明の実施例による液晶表示装置の、画素のスイッチング素子の配置、つまり、xで表示したスイッチング素子Qとゲート線G1−Gn及びデータ線D1−Dmの連結関係を示している。
(色表示)
一方、色表示を実現するためには各画素が三原色のうちの一つを固有に表示するか(空間分割)、各画素が時間によって交互に三原色を表示するように(時間分割)して、これら三原色の空間的、時間的合計によって所望の色相が認識されるようにする。図2は空間分割の一例として各画素が画素電極190に対応する領域に赤色、緑色、または青色のカラーフィルター230を備えることを示している。ここで、図2では上部表示板にカラーフィルター230を形成しているが、図2とは異なり、カラーフィルター230は下部表示板100の画素電極190下に形成してもよい。
(各部分の構造)
また、液晶表示板組立体300の二つの表示板100、200のうちの少なくとも一つの外側面には、光を偏光させる偏光子(図示せず)が付着されている。
[表示動作]
以下より、このような液晶表示装置の表示動作について詳細に説明する。
[反転形態]
以下に、本発明の実施例による反転形態について、図3乃至図5bを参考として詳細に説明する。
[垂直クロストークの影響減少の理由]
このような区間反転方式を液晶表示装置に適用すると、垂直クロストークの影響を大きく減少させることができ、画質を向上させることができる。以下より、これについて詳細に説明する。

Claims (10)
- 行列形態に配列されており、スイッチング素子を備える複数の画素と、
前記スイッチング素子に連結されており、前記スイッチング素子をオンさせるゲートオン電圧を伝達する複数のゲート線と、
前記ゲート線の長さ方向に対していずれか一方に位置する画素のスイッチング素子に連結されており、データ電圧を伝達する複数のデータ線と、
を含み、
m及びnは整数であって、nはmより小さいとするとき、全ての画素行はm個の画素行で構成される画素行集合のいずれかに属し、各画素行の前記スイッチング素子は前記ゲート線の長さ方向に対して同一側のデータ線に接続され、n番目の画素行のスイッチング素子は、隣接する画素行集合のn番目の画素行のスイッチング素子に接続される側と異なる側のデータ線に接続され、
隣接するデータ線に印加されるデータ電圧は交互に極性が異なり、
前記m個の画素行中の第1画素行に対するゲートオン電圧は、他の画素行に対するゲートオン電圧と異なる持続期間を有する、液晶表示装置。 - 行列形態に配列されており、スイッチング素子を備える複数の画素と、

隣接するデータ線に印加されるデータ電圧は交互に極性が異なり、
前記m個の画素行集合中の第1画素行に対するゲートオン電圧の伝達は、他のいずれかの画素行に対する直前のゲートオン電圧の伝達から所定時間後に開始される、液晶表示装置。 - 各データ線を介して各画素行集合に供給されるデータ電圧は同一の極性を有する、請求項1または2に記載の液晶表示装置。
- 前記画素行集合は、異なる側のデータ線に接続されるスイッチング素子の画素行を含む、請求項1または2に記載の液晶表示装置。
- 前記スイッチング素子に接続されるデータ線は、全ての行または1行おきに変更される、請求項4に記載の液晶表示装置。
- 映像データを提供する信号制御部と、
前記信号制御部からの映像データを前記データ電圧に変換して前記データ線に印加するデータ駆動部と、
をさらに含む、請求項1または2に記載の液晶表示装置。 - 複数のゲート線と、複数のデータ線と、第1〜第mの画素行を含む画素行集合とを備え、前記画素行集合のそれぞれはゲート線及びデータ線に接続されたスイッチング素子を含む複数の画素を備えた複数の画素行集合を含む液晶表示装置の駆動方法であって、
第n番目画素行集合のゲート線にゲートオン電圧を印加するとともに、前記データ線に第1極性のデータ電圧を印加する段階と、
第n+1番目画素行集合のゲート線にゲートオン電圧を印加するとともに、前記データ線に第2極性のデータ電圧を供給する段階と、
を含み、m及びnは整数であって、nはmより小さく、
前記第1極性のデータ電圧として1つのデータ線に正極性のデータ電圧が印加される時、第2極性のデータ電圧として負極性のデータ電圧が前記1つのデータ線に隣接するデータ線に印加され、
前記第n+1番目の画素行集合の第1画素行に対するゲートオン電圧は、他の行に対するゲートオン電圧と異なる持続期間を有することを特徴とする液晶表示装置の駆動方法。 - 複数のゲート線と、複数のデータ線と、第1〜第mの画素行を含む画素行集合とを備え、前記画素行集合のそれぞれはゲート線及びデータ線に接続されたスイッチング素子を含む複数の画素を備えた複数の画素行集合を含む液晶表示装置の駆動方法であって、
第n番目画素行集合のゲート線にゲートオン電圧を印加するとともに、前記データ線に第1極性のデータ電圧を印加する段階と、
第n+1番目画素行集合のゲート線にゲートオン電圧を印加するとともに、前記データ線に第2極性のデータ電圧を供給する段階と、
を含み、m及びnは整数であって、nはmより小さく、
前記第1極性のデータ電圧として1つのデータ線に正極性のデータ電圧が印加される時、第2極性のデータ電圧として負極性のデータ電圧が前記1つのデータ線に隣接するデータ線に印加され、
前記第n+1番目の画素行集合の第1画素行に対するゲートオン電圧の伝達は、n番目の画素行集合に対するゲートオン電圧の伝達の期間終了から所定時間後に開始されることを特徴とする、液晶表示装置の駆動方法。 - 前記画素行集合は異なる側のデータ線に接続されるスイッチング素子を有する画素行を含む、請求項7または8に記載の液晶表示装置の駆動方法。
- 第n番目または第n+1番目の画素行集合に対するゲートオン電圧の伝達の期間終了まで、第1極性または第2極性にあるデータ線に印加される電圧の極性を変更しない、請求項7または8に記載の液晶表示装置の駆動方法。
