Description
イソシアネート官能性プレポリマーは特に有利であるが、その理由は、これらが、多種多様なポリウレタンおよびポリウレタン−ウレア生成物の調製に有用な出発材料を形成するからである。これらの材料は、1分子あたり平均少なくとも1個、好ましくは平均少なくとも1.8個のイソシアネート基を有することを特徴とする。これらの材料は、1分子あたり平均して、約2.0個から、または約2.2個から、または約2.5個から、約6個まで、約4個まで、約3.5個まで、または約3.0個までのイソシアネート基を含有しうる。
イソシアネート反応性材料を過剰に用いることによって、本発明のプレポリマーに、ヒドロキシル官能価を与えることができる。一般に、ヒドロキシル末端プレポリマーは、上に記載されているのと同じ出発原料を用いて調製することができ、その違いは、成分の相対比にある。前のように、追加のイソシアネート反応性材料、例えばポリエーテルポリオール、ポリエステルポリオール、連鎖延長剤および/または架橋剤の使用を包含する特定の出発原料の選択によって、特定の用途のために調整される広範囲のヒドロキシル末端プレポリマーが製造されうる。
本発明のイソシアネート官能性プレポリマーおよびヒドロキシル官能性プレポリマーはいずれも、ウレタンに他の型の官能価を導入するために用いられる官能基を含有する。このような官能価の例は、カルボン酸、カルボン酸無水物、エポキシド、エチレン不飽和、アミノ、シランなどを包含する。この官能価は、いくつかの方法で導入することができる。一つの方法は、これを別の望ましい官能基へ変換するために、既存の官能基を化学的に修飾することである。この一例は、末端イソシアネート基をモノアルコールまたは水との反応によってウレタンまたはウレア基に変換することであり、次いでこのウレタン基を加水分解して、末端第一級アミノ基を形成することである。第二の例は、末端ヒドロキシル基を酸化して、カルボン酸基を形成することである。
ヒドロキシメチル含有ポリエステルポリオールを、330.4グラムのメチル(9,10)−ヒドロキシメチルステアレート、72.4グラムの1,3−および1,4−シクロヘキサンジメタノールの約1:1の混合物、および0.411グラムのジブチル錫オキシド触媒を、機械的攪拌機、凝縮器、添加漏斗、窒素流入口および反応温度をモニター/制御するためのセンサーを備えた500ミリリットルの5口丸底ガラスフラスコに装填することによって調製する。この混合物を、外部温油浴を用いて攪拌しながら150℃に加熱し、この温度に1時間維持する。次いで、温度を、45分毎に10℃のインクリメントで、200℃の最終反応温度が得られるまで上げる。合計30グラムのメタノールを収集し(理論生成量の90%)、得られたヒドロキシメチル含有ポリエステルポリオールを収集する。これは、約400のヒドロキシル当量を有する。
Claims (11)
- 少なくとも1つのウレタン基、1分子あたり平均1.8から6個までのイソシアネート基、500から8,000までの数平均分子量を有するプレポリマーであって、
前記プレポリマーは、少なくとも1種のイソシアネートと、脂肪酸に由来する少なくとも1種のヒドロキシメチル含有ポリエステルポリオール(HMPP)を含有するイソシアネート反応性材料との反応生成物を含んでなり、
前記HMPPが、次の平均構造:
- 前記HMPPが、12から26個までの炭素原子を有するヒドロキシメチル基含有脂肪酸またはそのようなヒドロキシメチル基含有脂肪酸のエステルと、1分子あたり平均少なくとも1つのヒドロキシル基、第一級アミン基および/または第二級アミン基を有するポリオールまたはポリアミン開始剤化合物とを反応させることによって調製され、前記HMPPが、開始剤化合物中のヒドロキシル基、第一級アミン基および第二級アミン基の総数につき、ヒドロキシメチル基含有脂肪酸またはエステルに由来する、平均少なくとも1.3個の繰り返し単位を含有する、請求項1に記載のプレポリマー。
- 22℃で液体である、請求項1または2に記載のプレポリマー。
- 前記イソシアネート反応性材料が、HMPPに加えて少なくともイソシアネート反応性材料をさらに含有する、請求項1から3のいずれかに記載のプレポリマー。
- 水分散性である、請求項1から4のいずれかに記載のプレポリマー。
- 少なくとも1つのポリ(エチレンオキシド)ブロックを含有する、請求項5に記載のプレポリマー。
- 前記イソシアネート反応性材料が、ポリエーテルポリオール、ポリエステルポリオール及びポリカーボネートポリオールの少なくとも1つを含有する第二のポリオールをさらに含む、請求項1から6のいずれかに記載のプレポリマー。
- 界面活性剤、触媒、顔料、染料、充填剤、乾燥剤、レオロジーおよび粘度調節剤、分散剤、界面活性剤、防腐剤、抗菌薬、殺虫剤及び肥料からなる群から選択された少なくとも1種の添加剤を含有する、請求項1から7のいずれかに記載のプレポリマー。
- 請求項1から8のいずれかに記載のプレポリマーを硬化することによって調製されたポリマー。
- 接着剤、シーラントまたはコーティングである、請求項9に記載のポリマー。
- ポリオール、ポリアミンまたはアミノアルコールとの反応によって硬化される、請求項9または10に記載のポリマー。
