Description
本実施形態の中間転写ベルトの製造方法は、芯体をその軸方向を水平にして回転させながら、その回転する芯体の表面に、樹脂溶液の一例としての皮膜形成樹脂溶液を塗布して塗膜を形成する塗布工程を備えている。
本実施形態の中間転写ベルトの製造方法は、塗膜の乾燥速度が飽和する飽和風量で芯体へ送風して塗膜を乾燥させる乾燥工程を備えている。
本実施形態の中間転写ベルトの製造方法は、乾燥した塗膜を加熱固化することで樹脂皮膜を形成する加熱工程を含んでもよい。
本実施形態の中間転写ベルトの製造方法は、乾燥工程で乾燥された塗膜を芯体から脱型する脱型工程を備えている。
PI前駆体溶液(商品名:Uワニス、宇部興産製、固形分濃度18%、溶剤はN−メチルピロリドン)100質量部に、カーボンブラック(商品名:スペシャルブラック4、デグザヒュルス社製)を固形分質量比で27%混合し、次いで対向衝突型分散機(株式会社ジーナス製、GeanusPY)により分散し、25℃での粘度が約42Pa・sの皮膜形成樹脂溶液を得た。
実施例1において、乾燥炉26内のノズル16を、熱風が芯体38の接線Sに対して65°の角度になるようにして、芯体38と送風口14との距離50mmで設置した。芯体38に当たる位置での熱風の風速は20m/s、温度は乾燥炉26の設定温度と同じ150℃であり、2本のノズルは、芯体38の中心軸に対して90°離れた位置とした。他の条件は、実施例1と同じである。
芯体38として、外周長2512mm、肉厚0.2mm、幅0.5mのSUS304製ベルト(金属ベルト)を用意した。表面はRa0.2μmの梨地状である。芯体38の表面には、両端から20mmずつ除いて、シリコーン系離型剤(商品名:セパコート、信越化学製)を塗布し、300℃で1時間、焼き付け処理を施した。
比較例1では、実施例1における乾燥工程において、図9に示す乾燥炉26(実施例1の図6に示す乾燥炉26において送風装置12を有さない構成)に入れて乾燥させた。比較例では、塗膜の残留溶媒量が40%になるまでに要した時間は26分であり、実施例1の場合より9分長く要した。実施例1ではノズルから強い熱風を当てているので、温度と風の両面で乾燥が促進できたのである。他は同様にして中間転写ベルトを作製した。
表面抵抗率は、試験片の表面に沿って流れる電流と平行方向の電位傾度を、表面の単位幅当たりの電流で除した数値であり、各辺1cmの正方形の相対する辺を電極とする二つの電極間の表面抵抗に等しい。表面抵抗率の単位は、正式にはΩだが、単なる抵抗と区別するためΩ/□と記載される。

前記塗膜の乾燥速度が飽和する飽和風量で前記芯体へ送風して塗膜を乾燥させる乾燥工程と、
前記乾燥工程で乾燥された塗膜を芯体から脱型する脱型工程と、
を備え、
前記乾燥工程は、加熱された空気が内部へ供給される乾燥炉の中に前記芯体を収容する共に、その芯体に対して前記乾燥炉の中に設置した送風装置の送風口から前記飽和風量で送風して塗膜を乾燥させ、
さらに、前記乾燥工程は、前記芯体の軸方向に延びるスリット状に形成された前記送風口から前記芯体へ送風して塗膜を乾燥させる管状体の製造方法。
