Description
(2) 第4のシール部材を構成する弾性体の突起が、第2のシール部材の静止輪に嵌合固定されたスリンガの端部に当接していることを特徴とする(1)に記載の車輪支持用転がり軸受ユニット。
図1は本発明に係る車輪支持用転がり軸受ユニットの一実施形態を説明するための断面図、図2は図1のA部拡大図、図3は図1のB部拡大図である。
例えば、本実施形態では、転動体として円すいころを使用しているが、これに限定されず、円筒ころ、玉及び針状ころ等を使用しても良い。
また、本実施形態では、内輪回転の駆動輪用の車輪支持用転がり軸受ユニットに本発明を適用した場合を例示したが、これに代えて、内輪回転の従動輪用の車輪支持用転がり軸受ユニットや、外輪回転の従動輪用及び駆動輪用の車輪支持用転がり軸受ユニットに本発明を適用してもよい。

Claims (2)
- 少なくとも一つの軌道面が形成される静止輪と、少なくとも一つの軌道面が形成される回転輪と、前記静止輪及び前記回転輪の両軌道面の間に転動自在に配置される複数の転動体と、を有する転がり軸受を備え、前記回転輪の内周面にハブの軸部が内嵌され、前記回転輪から突出した前記軸部のインボード側の先端が加締められて前記回転輪と前記ハブとが固定される車輪支持用転がり軸受ユニットであって、
前記転がり軸受のアウトボード側には、シールリップを有するシール部材として、少なくとも第1のシール部材と第3のシール部材とを備え、
前記転がり軸受のインボード側には、シールリップを有するシール部材として、少なくとも第2のシール部材と第4のシール部材とを備え、
前記第1のシール部材及び第2のシール部材のそれぞれは、前記静止輪に嵌合固定されるスリンガにシールを接着固定した一方のシール構成部材と、前記回転輪に嵌合固定されるスリンガにシールを接着固定した他方のシール構成部材とから成り、前記一方のシール構成部材のシールリップが前記他方のシール構成部材のスリンガに摺接し、前記他方のシール構成部材のシールリップが前記一方のシール構成部材のスリンガに摺接するように組み合わされており、
シール部材のうち、インボード側の最外側にある前記第4のシール部材は、円環板状の芯金に弾性体を接着固定した板状シール部材から成り、前記静止輪及び回転輪のインボード側の軸方向端部より内側に位置するように前記静止輪側のシール溝に嵌合固定され、且つ前記板状シール部材のシールリップが前記第2のシール部材の回転輪に嵌合固定された前記スリンガに摺接し、
前記第2のシール部材の静止輪に嵌合固定された前記スリンガの端部が、前記シール溝の一部を形成していることを特徴とする車輪支持用転がり軸受ユニット。 - 請求項1に記載の転がり軸受ユニットであって、前記第4のシール部材を構成する前記弾性体の突起が、前記第2のシール部材の静止輪に嵌合固定された前記スリンガの端部に当接していることを特徴とする車輪支持用転がり軸受ユニット。
