Description
従来の車輪用軸受装置は、先ず外輪105、内輪117a、117b、転動体122a、122b、および保持器128a、128bで軸受アセンブリを組み立ててから、内輪117a、117bの内周にハブ輪102を圧入することにより組み立てられている。パルサーリング115は、軸受アセンブリを組み立てる段階で、一方の内輪(図7の例ではインボード側の内輪117b)の外周面に圧入固定される。この時、パルサーリング115は、ハブ輪102を圧入するまでの間に内輪117bから抜け落ちたりしないように、内輪117bに対して十分な圧入代を持たせる必要がある。従って、その後に内輪の内周にハブ輪を圧入すると、圧入に伴って両内輪117a、117bの外周面が僅かに拡径し、これに追従してパルサーリング115も拡径するため、パルサーリング115の外周面に大きな引張応力が作用し、パルサーリング115が割れるおそれがある。
なお、この対策として、ハブ輪と内輪の間の圧入代を小さくする、あるいはパルサーリングをプレス成形等による薄肉品とすることにより、耐割れ性を向上させる、等の手段が考えられるが、前者では特に旋回Gが高くなるような走行モードでは、ハブ輪と内輪との間でクリープを生じ易くなる。後者ではパルサーリングの設計自由度が低下する不具合がある。
(2)加締めによる割れの発生
近年では、車輪軸受装置のコンパクト化、軽量化等を図るため、複列円すいころ軸受の内周にハブ輪を圧入した後、ハブ輪のインボード側の軸端を加締めることで、ハブ輪102に圧入した2つの内輪の軸方向の位置決めを行うことが行われている。この場合、加締めに伴ってハブ輪のインボード側の内輪圧入部が大きく拡径するため、内輪に圧入したパルサーリングの外周面に作用する引張応力が大きくなり、パルサーリングに割れを生じる可能性がある。

Claims (3)
- 車体取付フランジ及び複列のアウタレースを有する外輪と、車輪取付フランジを有するハブ輪と、ハブ輪外周に圧入されたアウトボード側の第1内輪、及び第1内輪よりもインボード側のハブ輪外周に圧入された第2内輪を有し、各内輪にそれぞれインナレースが形成された内方部材と、内方部材に固定されたパルサーリングとを備え、ハブ輪のインボード側端部を加締めて、第1内輪及び第2内輪の軸方向位置決めを行った車輪用軸受装置において、
パルサーリングが第2内輪の外周面に圧入され、かつ第2内輪とハブ輪との間の圧入代を第1内輪とハブ輪との間の圧入代よりも小さくしたことを特徴とする車輪用軸受装置。 - 前記ハブ輪の外周面のうち、第1内輪の圧入部の外径寸法と第2内輪の圧入部の外径寸法とに差を設け、第1及び第2内輪の内径寸法を同一としたことを特徴とする請求項1の車輪用軸受装置。
- 前記ハブ輪の外周面のうち、第1内輪の圧入部の外径寸法と第2内輪の圧入部の外径寸法とを同一寸法として、第1内輪と第2内輪の内径寸法に差を設けたことを特徴とする請求項1の車輪用軸受装置。
