Description
上記した構成のエンジンカバー20を実施品として製作すると共に、上記したカバー本体21の下面全体をウレタン発泡樹脂22Jで覆った比較品を製作した。そして、これら実施品と比較品とを、既存の自動車に搭載された直噴V型エンジンにそれぞれ取り付け、770[rpm]でアイドリングして騒音を実測した。また、上記直噴V型エンジンを、エンジンカバーが無い状態で770[rpm]でアイドリングし、シリンダヘットからの騒音の周波数と、インテークマニホールドからの騒音の周波数とを測定した。
本発明は、前記実施形態に限定されるものではなく、例えば、以下に説明するような実施形態も本発明の技術的範囲に含まれ、さらに、下記以外にも要旨を逸脱しない範囲内で種々変更して実施することができる。

Claims (5)
- 直噴V型エンジン(10)の1対のシリンダヘッド(11)とそれら両シリンダヘッド(11)間のインテークマニホールド(12)とに上方から覆われるカバー本体(21)と、
前記カバー本体(21)の下面のうち前記1対のシリンダヘッド(11)との対向位置をウレタン発泡樹脂(22J)で覆ってなるウレタン吸音部(22)と、
前記カバー本体(21)の下面のうち前記インテークマニホールド(12)との対向位置をPET製の不織布(23S)で覆ってなるPET吸音部(23)とを備えたことを特徴とするエンジンカバー(10)。 - 前記ウレタン吸音部(22)は、前記カバー本体(21)の下面のうち前記1対のシリンダヘッド(11)との対向位置に加えて前記インテークマニホールド(12)との対向位置の一端部にも形成されて、前記PET吸音部(23)を三方から囲んだことを特徴とする請求項1に記載のエンジンカバー(10)。
- 前記カバー本体(21)を合成樹脂で構成すると共に、前記カバー本体(21)の下面から溶着用突部(25,25V〜25Z)を突出形成し、前記溶着用突部(25,25V〜25Z)の先端面に、前記PET製の不織布(23S)を振動溶着したことを特徴とする請求項1又は2に記載のエンジンカバー(10)。
- 前記溶着用突部(25,25V〜25Y)は、前記カバー本体(21)から突出した複数の突片(25A〜25C)又は突起(25D)の集合体であることを特徴とする請求項3に記載のエンジンカバー(10)。
- 前記溶着用突部(25)は、前記カバー本体(21)から突出した複数の突片(25A,25B)を交差してなることを特徴とする請求項4に記載のエンジンカバー(10)。
