Claims (8)
- 高屈折率膜と低屈折率膜とを交互に積層した補正用光学多層膜を曲面上に形成することにより、前記補正用光学多層膜を波長板として機能させ、前記補正用光学多層膜に入力される発散光又は収束光の偏光状態を補正することを特徴とする透過位相板。
- 前記補正用光学多層膜が形成されている曲面は、前記発散光又は収束光の光線の偏光方向を全て同じ偏光状態に補正する曲率で形成されていることを特徴とする請求項1記載の透過位相板。
- 前記曲面形状は、非球面形状、球面形状又はシリンダ形状であることを特徴とする請求項1記載の透過位相板。
- P偏光又はS偏光のうち何れか一方の光を透過し、他方の光を反射する偏光分離膜を有する偏光ビームスプリッタであって、
前記偏光ビームスプリッタは、高屈折率膜と低屈折率膜とを交互に積層した補正用光学多層膜と、前記偏光分離膜とを有し、前記補正用光学多層膜を曲面形状に形成することにより前記補正用光学多層膜を波長板として機能させ、
前記偏光分離膜に入射する光を透過と反射とに分けるときに、曲面形状に形成された前記補正用光学多層膜により偏光方向を補正して前記偏光分離膜に入射させることを特徴とする偏光ビームスプリッタ。 - 前記補正用光学多層膜は、前記発散光又は収束光の偏光方向が前記偏光分離膜により定まる偏光方向と一致するように補正を行う曲率で前記曲面形状に形成されていることを特徴とする請求項4記載の偏光ビームスプリッタ。
- 前記曲面形状は、非球面形状、球面形状又はシリンダ形状であることを特徴とする請求項4記載の偏光ビームスプリッタ。
- 前記補正用光学多層膜は、λ/4波長板又はλ/2波長板として機能することを特徴とする請求項4記載の偏光ビームスプリッタ。
- 請求項4乃至7記載の偏光ビームスプリッタにおいて、光源と、前記偏光ビームスプリッタと、偏光方向の変調制御を行う反射型ライトバルブとを有することを特徴とする投射型表示装置。
