Claims (7)
- 異なる選択反射波長を有するコレステリック相を示す液晶層をそれぞれ有する2枚以上の液晶パネルを積層した積層型の反射型液晶表示素子であって、
選択反射波長の長い液晶を注入した液晶層を有する液晶パネルほど、該パネルに施した前記液晶層の配向規制力が小さいことを特徴とする積層型の反射型液晶表示素子。 - 表示面側に配置された液晶パネルの液晶層ほど選択反射波長が短く、
表示面側に配置された液晶パネルほど該パネルに施した前記液晶層の配向規制力が大きい請求項1に記載の積層型の反射型液晶表示素子。 - 各液晶パネルは、前記液晶層と、該液晶層を挟持する2枚の基板とを備え、
少なくとも一部の液晶パネルが、前記2枚の基板のうち表示面側と反対側の基板にのみ、あるいは前記2枚の基板の両方に、表面に形成された透明電極と、該透明電極上に形成された配向膜とを備え、
前記配向規制力の違いは、前記配向膜の有無による請求項1に記載の積層型の反射型液晶表示素子。 - 各液晶パネルは、前記液晶層と、該液晶層を挟持する2枚の基板とを備え、
少なくとも一部の液晶パネルが、前記2枚の基板のうち表示面側と反対側の基板にのみ、あるいは前記2枚の基板の両方に、表面に形成された透明電極と、該透明電極上に形成された配向膜とを備え、
前記配向規制力の違いは、前記配向膜のラビング処理の有無及び密度による請求項1に記載の積層型の反射型液晶表示素子。 - 各液晶パネルは、前記液晶層と、該液晶層を挟持する2枚の基板とを備え、
少なくとも一部の液晶パネルが、前記2枚の基板のうち表示面側と反対側の基板にのみ、あるいは前記2枚の基板の両方に、表面に形成された透明電極と、該透明電極上に形成された配向膜とを備え、
前記配向膜は光配向膜であり、前記配向規制力の違いは、前記光配向膜への紫外線照射の有無及び強度による請求項1に記載の積層型の反射型液晶表示素子。 - 各液晶パネルは、前記液晶層と、該液晶層を挟持する2枚の基板とを備え、
各液晶パネルの表示面と反対側の基板は、表面に形成された下側透明電極と、該下側透明電極上に形成されたラビングされる配向膜とを備え、
各液晶パネルの表示面側の基板は、表面に形成された上側透明電極を備え、配向膜を有さない請求項1に記載の積層型の反射型液晶表示素子。 - 各液晶パネルは、前記液晶層と、該液晶層を挟持する2枚の基板とを備え、
各液晶パネルの表示面と反対側の基板は、表面に形成された下側透明電極と、該下側透明電極上に形成された光配向膜とを備え、
各液晶パネルの表示面側の基板は、表面に形成された上側透明電極を備え、配向膜を有さない請求項1に記載の積層型の反射型液晶表示素子。
