Description
Claims (26)
- シールの摩耗および摩擦が低減されている弁であって、
内部に流路を形成するための流入部および流出部を有する弁箱と、
前記弁箱に延びる弁棒と、
前記流路を開閉するために前記弁棒により回転可能であるとともに外周面を有する弁体と、
弁シールとを備えており、
前記弁シールは、前記弁体が閉弁位置または閉弁位置近傍にないときには少なくとも内周面が第一の楕円形状となっており、前記弁体が閉弁位置又は閉弁位置近傍にあるときには少なくとも内周面が前記第一の楕円形状とは異なる第二の楕円形状に変形し、前記弁箱を貫通する流路をシールするよう構成されており、
前記弁シールは、前記弁体が開弁側から前記流路を閉止する閉弁位置の近傍に至るまでは前記弁体の外周面のいかなる部位にも接触しないように構成されており、
前記弁シールは、弁体が前記閉弁位置近傍から開弁方向に離脱したときは前記第一の楕円形状に戻るような弾力性を有する材料から形成されている、弁。 - 前記弁シールは、前記弁体が前記流路を開放している開弁位置から前記閉弁位置の近傍に至るまで、前記弁体との圧力接触を行わない、請求項1記載の弁。
- 前記弁シールが延性材料からなる、請求項1記載の弁。
- 前記弁シールが変形可能な金属製材料からなる、請求項1記載の弁。
- 前記弁シールを楕円形状に保持するための弁シール保持器をさらに備えてなる、請求項1記載の弁。
- 前記弁シールがガータスプリングと協働してなる、請求項1記載の弁。
- 前記弁シールが一体型スプリングを有してなる、請求項1記載の弁。
- 前記一体型スプリングが前記弁シールの外面にそって形成されてなる、請求項7記載の弁。
- 前記一体型スプリングが前記弁シールにより被包されてなる、請求項7記載の弁。
- 前記弁シールが、前記弁箱と圧入式に係合される外面を含む2部材組立体からなる、請求項1記載の弁。
- 前記弁シールが、前記弁箱に形成される保持溝と協働する保持リングをさらに備えてなる、請求項10記載の弁。
- 前記弁シールが、前記弁箱に圧入式に係合されている外面を含む単一部材シールからなる、請求項1記載の弁。
- 前記弁シールが、前記弁箱に形成される保持溝と協働する保持リングをさらに備えてなる、請求項12記載の弁。
- 前記単一部材シールが、可撓性アームを有する変形可能な金属からなる、請求項12記載の弁。
- 前記弁体が楕円形状を有しており、前記弁シールが楕円形状を有しており、前記弁シールの長軸は前記弁体の長軸よりも大きく形成されている、請求項1記載の弁。
- 前記弁シールが、ほぼ円形状である外周と、ほぼ楕円形状である内周とを有してなる、請求項1記載の弁。
- 前記弁棒がアクチュエータに接続されてなる、請求項1記載の弁。
- 前記弁が流体の流れを絞るために用いられてなる、請求項1記載の弁。
- 前記弁体がおおむね平面形状を有してなる、請求項1記載の弁。
- 前記流路の閉止中、前記弁体シール可能面が前記弁シールのうちの一部と締めばめ式に係合することにより、前記弁シールの短軸が伸ばされ、且つ、前記弁シールの長軸が収縮させられて前記弁シールの長軸の寸法が縮小されることにより、前記弁シールのうちの前記弁シールの長軸に近い部分と、前記弁体シール可能面のうちの前記弁体の短軸に近い部分との間の接触が引き起こされて、前記流路がシールされるように構成されている、請求項1記載の弁。
- 流体の流れを制御するとともに、弁シールの摩擦を低減し、弁シールの摩耗を最小限に抑える方法であって、
流体の流れを制御するためにほぼ円形状の弁箱の流路に、回転軸、該回転軸に垂直方向の弁体直径、および外周を有するほぼ円形状の弁体を配置することと、
前記流路が開放されているときには、少なくとも内周面が前記弁体における前記回転軸近傍の部分とは係合しないような第一の楕円形状を呈する楕円形状の弁シールを弁座内に配置することと、
前記弁体が前記流路を閉止またはほぼ閉止するときには、前記楕円形状の弁シールが前記弁体のうちの前記回転軸に垂直方向の弁体直径部分に係合することにより、前記楕円形弁シールの短軸を伸ばすとともに長軸を縮短してこの楕円形弁シールを弁体と弁座とのしっかりしたシールを実現しうる第二の楕円形状にし、これにより、弁シールの摩擦および摩耗を最小限に抑えながら流体の流れの制御を提供することと、を含む方法。 - 全開位置および全閉位置のいずれでもない位置にある前記弁体を用いて流体の流れを絞ることをさらに含む、請求項21記載の方法。
- 弁シール保持器を用いて前記弁シールを保持することをさらに含む、請求項21記載の方法。
- 楕円形状のシール溝を有する弁箱を形成することをさらに含む、請求項21記載の方法。
- 内部に円形状のシール溝を有する弁箱を形成することをさらに含む、請求項21記載の方法。
- 前記弁箱に弁シールを取り付けることをさらに含む、請求項21記載の方法。
