Description
20〜150μm程度のガスアトマイズ粉末を、Mn粉末は粒径が10〜50μm程度のMn塊を粉砕した粉砕粉末を、また、黒鉛は粒径が3〜50μm程度の黒鉛粉末を、鉄粉は粒径が20〜150μm程度の純鉄粉を例示することができる。
表1に示す原料粉末を用いて発明例と比較例の焼結体を作製した。
上記のようにして得られた焼結体No.1〜13のそれぞれから適宜の試験片を切り出して、それぞれの熱伝導率κ(W/(m・K))と線膨張係数α(×10−6/K)、および引張強さσB(MPa)を測定した。
結果をピストンの母材であるアルミニウム合金(AC8Aの鋳造材)の各特性値(試料No.14)とともに表3に示す。

Claims (5)
- アルミニウム合金からなるピストン本体の頂部に低熱伝導部材が配置された内燃機関のピストンにおいて、
前記低熱伝導部材は、Mnを10〜60質量%含有し、残部はFe及び不可避的不純物からなる焼結体であることを特徴とする内燃機関のピストン。 - 前記低熱伝導部材は、さらにCを0.3〜2質量%含む請求項1に記載の内燃機関のピストン。
- 前記低熱伝導部材は、窒素雰囲気中で焼結した焼結体である請求項1又は2に記載の内燃機関のピストン。
- 前記低熱伝導部材の熱伝導率κは、7〜10.3W/m・Kである請求項1〜3のいずれかに記載の内燃機関のピストン。
- 前記低熱伝導部材の線膨張係数αは、15〜19×10 −6 /Kである請求項1〜4のいずれかに記載の内燃機関のピストン。
