Abstract
【解決手段】本発明により提供される電池は、電極体30と、電極体30が収容される電池ケース40とを備え、電極体30と電池ケース40との間に絶縁性の外装体20を備える。電極体30は、電池ケース40の上端部42の開口部43から、正極集電部35と負極集電部がそれぞれ電池ケース40の幅広面46の両端において上端部42から底部44に亘って配置される横方向に電池ケース40内に収容され、外装体20の内部に配置されて外装体20とともに電極挿入体10を構成する。ここで、電極挿入体10において横方向Pの両端部における厚みL1aは電池ケース40の上端部42から底部44に向けて漸減している。

Claims (6)
- 扁平な形状の電極体と、該電極体が収容される箱状の電池ケースとを備える角型電池であって、
前記電極体における幅広面からみて所定の方向の中央部分は正極活物質層が付与された部分と負極活物質層が付与された部分とが積層されている活物質層付与部を形成しており、前記幅広面からみて該活物質層付与部の両端のうちの一方の端部は正極活物質層が付与されずに正極集電体の露出した部分が積層されている正極集電部を形成しており、他方の端部は負極活物質層が付与されずに負極集電体の露出した部分が積層されている負極集電部を形成しており、
前記電極体と前記電池ケースとの間には、該電極体と電池ケースとを隔離する絶縁性の外装体であって該電極体の形状に対応した外装体が備えられており、
前記電極体は、前記電池ケースの上端部に形成される開口部から、前記正極集電部と前記負極集電部がそれぞれ該電池ケースの幅広面の両端において上端部から底部に亘って配置される横方向に該電池ケース内に収容されるとともに、該電池ケース内においては前記外装体の内部に配置されて該外装体とともに扁平な箱状の電極挿入体を構成しており、
前記電極挿入体において、前記横方向の両端部における厚みは前記電池ケースの上端部から底部に向けて漸減していることを特徴とする、角型電池。 - 前記電極挿入体において、前記横方向の前記両端部を除く中央部分の厚みは前記電池ケースの上端部から底部にかけてほぼ一定であることを特徴とする、請求項1に記載の電池。
- 前記電極挿入体において、前記横方向の前記両端部を含む所定の領域では、該電極挿入体の厚みは前記横方向の中央に近い側から前記両端部に向かって漸減しており、かつその漸減の程度は前記横方向と直交する方向であって前記電池ケースの上端部から底部に向かう方向にいくに従い徐々に大きくなっていくことを特徴とする、請求項1または2に記載の電池。
- 前記電極体は、シート状の正極集電体に正極活物質層が付与されてなる正極と、シート状の負極集電体に負極活物質層が付与されてなる負極とがセパレータを介して積層されてともに捲回されてなる捲回電極体であり、
該電極体の捲回軸方向は前記横方向と平行であり、
前記電極体における前記捲回軸方向の中央部分は正極活物質層が付与された部分と負極活物質層が付与された部分とが積層されている活物質層付与部を形成しており、前記捲回軸方向の両端部のうちの一方は正極活物質層が付与されずに正極集電体の露出した部分が積層されてなる正極集電部を形成しており、前記捲回軸方向の両端部のうちの他方は負極活物質層が付与されずに負極集電体の露出した部分が積層されてなる負極集電部を形成しており、
前記電極挿入体における前記捲回軸方向の両端部の前記電池ケースの上端部から底部に向けて厚みが漸減している部分は、それぞれ、前記正極集電部および負極集電部に相当することを特徴とする、請求項1〜3のいずれか一項に記載の電池。 - 前記外装体は、シート状の絶縁性樹脂材料から形成されていることを特徴とする、請求項1〜4のいずれか一項に記載の電池。
- 請求項1〜5のいずれか一項に記載の電池を備える車両。
