Claims (3)
- 回転する記録媒体の表面に生じる空気流を受けて該記録媒体表面から浮上するスライダの空気流出端面上に、薄膜磁気ヘッド素子構造部を形成するステップと、
前記スライダのクラウン及びクロスクラウンが形成された記録媒体対向面の裏面であって該スライダの空気流出端から60ないし200μm離間させた位置に、熱源からの熱エネルギーを与えることにより、前記薄膜磁気ヘッド素子構造部を局部的に該スライダの記録媒体面よりも記録媒体表面から離間させる熱塑性変形部を形成するステップとを有し、
前記スライダの空気流出端近傍に与える熱エネルギー量により、前記薄膜磁気ヘッド素子構造部を前記スライダの媒体対向面よりも記録媒体表面から離間させる距離間隔を調整すること、
前記熱源は、固体レーザー、CO2レーザー、エキシマレーザーまたはファイバーレーザーであること、
前記スライダの空気流出端近傍に与える熱エネルギー量は、レーザー照射位置、レーザーパワー、レーザー照射時間及びレーザー照射回数のいずれかまたは組み合わせにより制御すること、及び、
前記熱塑性変形部は、前記スライダの空気流出端面と平行な1の線条部で形成すること、
を特徴とする薄膜磁気ヘッドの製造方法。 - 請求項1記載の薄膜磁気ヘッドの製造方法において、前記熱塑性変形部は、前記スライダの空気流出端から80μm離れた位置に、レーザーパワー23W、走査速度2000mm/secのレーザー照射条件で熱エネルギーを与えて形成する薄膜磁気ヘッドの製造方法。
- 請求項1記載の薄膜磁気ヘッドの製造方法において、前記熱塑性変形部は、前記スライダの空気流出端から60μm離れた位置に、レーザーパワー23W、走査速度1000mm/secのレーザー照射条件で熱エネルギーを与えて形成する薄膜磁気ヘッドの製造方法。
