【解決手段】再生素子及び記録素子の少なくとも一方を含む素子部と、通電により発熱して前記素子部を熱膨張により記録媒体側へ突出させる発熱体とを薄膜形成した薄膜磁気ヘッドにおいて、上記発熱体を、素子部のハイト方向奥側に、該薄膜磁気ヘッドを構成する複数の層を貫いて設けた。

Claims (5)
- 再生素子及び記録素子の少なくとも一方を含む素子部と、通電により発熱して前記素子部を熱膨張により記録媒体側へ突出させる発熱体とを薄膜形成した薄膜磁気ヘッドにおいて、
前記発熱体が、前記素子部のハイト方向奥側に、該薄膜磁気ヘッドを構成する複数の層を貫いて設けられていることを特徴とする薄膜磁気ヘッド。 - 請求項1記載の薄膜磁気ヘッドにおいて、前記発熱体は、該薄膜磁気ヘッドを構成する各層の積層方向に通電される薄膜磁気ヘッド。
- 請求項1または2記載の薄膜磁気ヘッドにおいて、前記発熱体の周囲を囲む非磁性絶縁層を備えた薄膜磁気ヘッド。
- 請求項1ないし3のいずれか一項に記載の薄膜磁気ヘッドにおいて、前記再生素子は下部シールド層と上部シールド層の間に形成された磁気抵抗効果を発揮する多層膜を有し、前記発熱体は、少なくとも該多層膜と同一の積層高さ位置から前記上部シールド層と同一の積層高さ位置まで設ける薄膜磁気ヘッド。
- 請求項1ないし4のいずれか一項に記載の薄膜磁気ヘッドにおいて、前記記録素子は、磁気ギャップ層を介して上下に対向する一対の磁極層を有し、前記発熱体は、少なくとも一方の磁極層と同一積層高さ位置から他方の磁極層と同一積層高さ位置まで設けられている薄膜磁気ヘッド。
