Abstract
【解決手段】磁気ディスク外の退避位置から磁気ディスク面上に移動するスライダのディスク対向面に、該磁気ディスクと接触した状態で記録再生動作するヘッド素子を設けた接触型薄膜磁気ヘッドにおいて、スライダのディスク対向面には、ヘッド素子とは平面位置を異ならせて配置した発熱体とこの発熱体及びヘッド素子を覆う表面保護層とが形成され、この発熱体をロード及びアンロードの少なくとも一方の動作時に所定時間通電することにより、発熱体部分の表面保護層をヘッド素子よりも磁気ディスク側へ突出させる。

Claims (4)
- 磁気ディスク外の退避位置から磁気ディスク面上に移動するスライダのディスク対向面に、該磁気ディスクと接触した状態で記録再生動作するヘッド素子を設けた接触型薄膜磁気ヘッドにおいて、
前記スライダのディスク対向面には、前記ヘッド素子とは平面位置を異ならせて配置した発熱体と、この発熱体及び前記ヘッド素子を覆う表面保護層とが形成され、
前記発熱体をロード及びアンロードの少なくとも一方の動作時に所定時間通電することにより、発熱体部分の表面保護層を前記ヘッド素子よりも前記磁気ディスク側へ突出させることを特徴とする接触型薄膜磁気ヘッド。 - 請求項1記載の接触型薄膜磁気ヘッドにおいて、前記発熱体は、前記ヘッド素子のトラック幅方向の両側領域に一対で配置されている接触型薄膜磁気ヘッド。
- 請求項1記載の接触型薄膜磁気ヘッドにおいて、前記発熱体は、前記ヘッド素子のトラック幅方向の両側領域のうち、ロード時に前記磁気ディスクに先に接触する側の領域に配置されている接触型薄膜磁気ヘッド。
- 請求項2または3記載の接触型薄膜磁気ヘッドにおいて、前記ヘッド素子は、磁気ギャップ層を介して積層した下部コア層と上部コア層を有する記録素子を備え、この磁気ギャップ層上であって前記上部コア層のトラック幅方向の両側領域に前記発熱体が配置されている接触型薄膜磁気ヘッド。
