Description
1)複数層の基紙を製造するのに用いられる多筒円網抄紙機は抄速が遅く生産効率が悪いため、抄速の早い長網抄紙機での単層基紙を用いる方が好ましいが、単層基紙の場合、インクジェット記録でのインク吸収性を良くするために基紙のサイズ度を低くすると、裏面のオフセット印刷の際に湿し水が過剰に吸収され、耐刷性が低下する。また、裏面に万年筆や水性ペンで筆記すると滲みが生じる。
2)染料インクの耐水性、顔料インクの印字濃度向上等を目的として、基紙の表面にカチオン性化合物を含有させると、裏面のオフセット印刷時にカチオン性化合物の溶出が起こり、オフセット印刷適性の悪化や耐刷性の低下が起こる。
3)オフセット印刷適性を考慮して、カチオン性化合物や水溶性多価金属塩を基紙ではなく、インクジェット記録用塗工液への添加を試みたが、塗工液中に軟凝集物が発生した。また、顔料インク中の顔料粒子が塗工層表面近くに残るため、高い印字濃度が得られるが、表面を擦った際に汚れが生じやすくなった。
4)基紙抄造時のパルプスラリー中へ、カチオン性化合物や水溶性多価金属塩の添加を試みたが、添加量を多くしないとインクジェット記録適性の改良効果が得られにくく、添加量を多くすると抄紙系内の汚れが発生しやすくなった。
また、カチオン性樹脂としては、ジメチルアミン、エピクロルヒドリンを主成分とし、アンモニア、1級アミン及びジメチルアミン以外の2級アミンから選ばれる1種以上を第3成分とする重縮合物が好ましい。
合成非晶質シリカ100部、ポリビニルアルコール23部、カチオン定着剤25部を混合して、固形分が20%のインクジェット記録用塗工層塗工液を得た。
ジメチルアミン、アンモニア、エチレンジアミン及びエピクロルヒドリンを、1.0:0.3:0.2:1.5のモル比で重合させ、重量平均分子量3.0万のカチオン性樹脂Aを得た。また、ジメチルアミン、アンモニア及びエピクロルヒドリンを、1.0:0.5:1.5のモル比で重合させ、重量平均分子量2.5万のカチオン性樹脂Bを得た。
サイズプレス液を酸化澱粉5%水溶液とする以外は実施例1と同様にして比較例1のインクジェット用記録シートを得た。
サイズプレス液を酸化澱粉5%、カチオン性樹脂B3%の混合水溶液とする以外は実施例1と同様にして比較例2のインクジェット用記録シートを得た。
サイズプレス液を酸化澱粉5%、硫酸マグネシウム3%の混合水溶液とする以外は実施例1と同様にして比較例3のインクジェット用記録シートを得た。
裏面にオフセット印刷層を設けない以外は実施例1と同様にして比較例4のインクジェット用記録シートを得た。
《ペン書きサイズ》
J.TAPPI No.12に基づき、オフセット印刷層のペン書きによる滲みを0〜6までの等級で示した。数値が大きくなるほど滲みが小さい。インキは、THE PARKER PEN CANPANY:Quink:PERMANENT RED INKを使用した。
セイコーエプソン社製PX−V700(顔料インク使用)を用いて、オフセット印刷層面に印字し、ブラック印字濃度を色差計(PF−10:日本電色製)で測定した。
キャノン社製PIXUS F−900(染料インク使用)を用いて、インクジェット記録用塗工面に印字し、2時間後に印字上に水を1滴垂らして滲みの程度から耐水性を以下の基準で判定した。
A:全く滲みが生じない。
B:印字部がわずかに滲んでいるが、注意して見なければ気付かない程度。
C:はっきりと滲みが見られるが、文字の識別はでき、実用可能な限界レベル。
D:印字部の滲みが酷く、実用上支障がある。
枚葉印刷機(ダイヤ3H−4:三菱重工業社製)で印刷を行い、インキ着肉、印刷部の汚れ、欠け等から判断して、印刷の許容限界枚数を調べ、枚数によって、以下の通りランク付けを行った。A、Bは実用上の問題なく、Cは実用可能な限界レベルであり、Dは実用不可である。なお、刷版は、ポジタイプPS版、インキはオフセット用油性インキ金赤、給湿液は市販品(IF−211:富士フィルム社製)の1.5%液を使用した。
A:印刷部に異常なく、20万枚以上印刷可。
B:わずかに細線に細りが見えるが問題なく、10〜20万枚印刷可。
C:5〜10万枚で、印刷部に汚れまたは欠けの兆候が現れ、印刷を停止。
D:5万枚に至るまでに印刷部に汚れが発生し、印刷を停止。
Claims (2)
- 木材パルプ、填料を主成分とする基紙の片面に、少なくとも1層以上のインクジェット記録用塗工層を設け、さらに該塗工層の反対面に水溶性高分子樹脂を主成分とするオフセット印刷層を設けたインクジェット用記録シートであって、該基紙が単層であり、水溶性高分子樹脂、カチオン性樹脂及び水溶性多価金属塩を主成分とするサイズプレス液で表面処理されたことを特徴とするインクジェット用記録シート。
- 該カチオン性樹脂が、ジメチルアミン、エピクロルヒドリンを主成分とし、アンモニア、1級アミン及びジメチルアミン以外の2級アミンから選ばれる1種以上を第3成分とする重縮合物である請求項1記載のインクジェット用記録シート。
