Description
【産業上の利用分野】
この発明は、等速ジョイントにおけるプレス成形された外輪と軸との接合構造に関するものである。

【従来の技術及びその課題】
等速ジョイントの軽量化や製造の低コスト化を図る上で、プレス加工で成形できるシェル型の外輪が注目されている。

ところが、このようなシェル型外輪は、全体が薄い鋼板で形成されているため、軸と強固に接合することが難しく、外輪と軸との接合構造が問題になりやすい。すなわち、外輪と軸の接合強度が充分でないと、等速ジョイントの性能そのものが大きく低下する不具合がある。

従来、この種のシェル型外輪と軸を接合する方法として、例えば特開昭58−8831号公報には、外輪と軸とをボルトを用いて連結したり、溶接により一体に固着する方法が考えられている。

しかし、このようなボルトや溶接による接合方法では、外輪を成形するプレス加工とは全く異なる作業工程を製造ラインの中に組込む必要があるため、作業性が悪いという問題がある。

また、溶接により接合する方法では、溶接の熱等の影響によって外輪の接合部の強度が低下しやすく、加えて、溶接ムラなどがあると、外輪と軸の間に高い負荷トルクが加わった場合に接合部分で破壊等が生じる危険性がある。

そこで、この発明は上記の問題を解決し、溶接等の手段を用いずに、簡単な機械的な加工方法によって確実に外輪と軸を接合できる接合構造を提供することを目的としている。

【課題を解決するための手段】
上記の課題を解決するため、この発明は、プレス加工により成形されたジョイント外輪に、軸の端部が嵌合する孔部を設け、その孔部内周面に複数の平坦面又は溝を形成し、上記平坦面又は溝を形成した外輪の孔部内周面の硬度を上記軸の嵌合部分の硬度より高く設定し、上記孔部に軸の端部を圧入嵌合することにより上記平坦面又は溝を軸の嵌合部分に転写せしめ、該軸に上記外輪に対するカシメ部を形成して外輪と軸とを一体に接合した構造としたのである。

【作用】
上記の構造において、外輪の孔部に軸の端部を圧入嵌合すると、孔部内周面に設けた平坦面や溝が嵌合部分を回り止めし、外輪と軸が一体で連結される。

この場合、孔部内周面の硬度を軸の嵌合部分の硬度より高く設定することにより、圧入後もこれらの形状が保持されると共に、その形状が軸の嵌合部分に転写される。

【実施例】
以下、この発明の実施例を添付図面に基づいて説明する。
図1及び図2に示すように、外輪1は、薄肉の鋼板から成るパイプ素材又は有底の円筒状素材をプレス加工して全体がカップ状に成形されており、外輪1の外周面に、花弁状をした複数のトラック溝2が形成されている。この外輪1は、内部にボールやケージ、内輪などから成るトルク伝達部材3を組み込むことにより、等速性をもつジョイント部を形成する。また、外輪1の端壁1aの中央には、プレスの打抜き加工によって孔部4が形成されている。

孔部4の内周面には、図2(a)に示すごとき多角形面8、又は図3(a)に示すごときセレーション溝10が形成され、これらの部分は、浸炭処理や高周波焼入れ等の表面硬化処理が施されている。

外輪1と接合される軸5は、一方の端部の外周面にねじ部6が形成され、他方の端部に大径部11が形成されると共に、その大径部11の先端面に外輪1の孔部4に嵌合する突出部7が形成されている。

この突出部7は生材のままであり、表面の硬化処理はされていない。またその外径寸法は、孔部4の内接円径よりも若干大きく設定される。また、大径部11と突出部7との間の段部に周溝13が形成され、その周溝13にシール部材12が装着される。

上記のような外輪1と軸5の接合は、図1(a)に示すように、外輪1の孔部4に対して軸5の突出部7を圧入嵌合し、外輪1の内側に突出した突出部7の先端をカシメ具9により軸方向に打撃して、図1(b)のように軸5の端部にカシメ部14を形成して、外輪1と軸5を固着する。

この圧入嵌合した状態では、孔部4の内周面に設けた多角形面8やセレーション溝10が突出部7に転写されて外輪1を回り止めし、また、軸方向にはカシメ部14によって嵌合部のガタが殺され、外輪1と軸5は一体で回転する。また、軸5の突出部7のカシメは、圧入によって生じる外輪1の端壁1aの変形を矯正する効果もある。

次に、図4(a)(b)は、他の実施例の外輪1と軸5の接合構造を示すものである。この場合の軸5は、先端部のねじ部6も含め、外輪1の孔部4より若干小径に形成され、また軸5の他端部は孔部4の内径より若干大径の嵌合部15が形成され、更にその先端に抜止め用のつば16が形成される。また、外輪1の孔部4には、前述の図2、図3と同様の多角形面8又はセレーション溝10が形成され、かつ硬化処理が施される。

この軸5を図4(a)の矢印で示すように外輪1の内側から孔部4に挿入し、嵌合部15の部分では、同図(b)に示すように、ダイス17に嵌めると共にカシメ具9により軸5を打撃してカシメ部18を形成する。嵌合部15には孔部4の多角形面8又はセレーション溝10に転写される。

【効果】
以上のように、この発明は、外輪と軸を圧入嵌合して機械的に接合するため、外輪のプレス成形作業に連続して外輪と軸の接合位置を行なうことが可能となり、等速ジョイントの製造を効率よく行なうことができる。

また、圧入嵌合される外輪の孔部内周面に形成した平坦面又は溝により回り止めを図るので、外輪と軸を確実に連結することができ、安定した等速ジョイントの使用を可能にする効果がある。

更に、上記外輪の孔部の硬度を軸の嵌合部分の硬度より高く設定することにより、圧入状態でその形状が維持できると共に、その形状を軸の嵌合部に転写できるので、一層確実かつ強固に接合することができる。

Claims (1)
- プレス加工により成形されたジョイント外輪に、軸の端部が嵌合する孔部を設け、その孔部内周面に複数の平坦面又は溝を形成し、上記平坦面又は溝を形成した外輪の孔部内周面の硬度を上記軸の嵌合部分の硬度より高く設定し、上記孔部に軸の端部を圧入嵌合することにより上記平坦面又は溝を軸の嵌合部分に転写せしめ、該軸に上記外輪に対するカシメ部を形成して外輪と軸とを一体に接合した等速ジョイントの外輪と軸の接合構造。
