【発明の詳細な説明】
【０００１】
【産業上の利用分野】この発明は、生理用ナプキンや使
い捨ておむつなどの体液吸収性物品の表面シート、およ
びその製造方法に関する。
【０００２】
【従来の技術】体液吸収性物品の表面シートを薄手のプ
ラスチックシートや不織布でつくり、このシートに上面
から下面方向へ延出する多数の導液管を設け、シート上
面を肌に接触させる一方、導液管の下面開口を吸液性コ
アに接触させ、導液管に生ずる毛管作用を利用して体液
を吸液性コアへ導く技術が公知である。
【０００３】例えば、特公昭５７−１７０８１号公報に
は、ポリエチレンシートからなる表面シートに導液管と
して円錐台形の先細毛細管を設け、毛細管先端を吸液性
コアに密に接触させて使用する技術が開示されている。
【０００４】また、特開平４−５８９５０号公報には、
熱可塑性合成繊維を融着させて不織布を構成し、その不
織布の一部から導液管を形成するとともに、その導液管
の下面開口端に繊維毛羽を形成して表面シートとする技
術が開示されている。
【０００５】
【発明が解決しようとする課題】前記公知技術のいずれ
においても、導液管先端は、吸液性コアに常に密着して
いることが理想である。しかし、実際には、物品を着用
したときに、薄くて比較的剛性が乏しい表面シートに皺
が入り、導液管先端が吸液性コアから離れてしまい、導
液管から吸液性コアへの体液の移行が阻害されかねない
という問題がある。
【０００６】また、一般に体液吸収性物品には柔軟な肌
触りが求められる。例えば粉砕パルプからなる吸液性コ
アは、密度が高いとゴツゴツした感じを与えるからあま
り高密度にすることは好ましくない。その反面、吸液性
コアは密度を低下させると体液の拡散性が低下する傾向
にある。そのために、導液管から吸液性コアへ移行する
体液は、導液管直下から横方向への拡散が遅くなり、そ
れだけ体液は表面シート上に滞留する時間が長くなっ
て、着用者に湿潤感を与えるという問題がある。
【０００７】そこで、この発明は、表面シートを第１シ
ートと第２シートとによって構成し、第１シートの導液
管の下面開孔周縁に第２シートを接合するとともに、第
２シートの密度を吸液性コアのそれよりも高くすること
により、前記従来技術の問題を解決することを課題にし
ている。
【０００８】
【課題を解決するための手段】この発明が前記課題を解
決するために手段とするところは、以下のとおりであ
る。
【０００９】この発明に係る体液吸収性物品の表面シー
トにおいては、上面開口と下面開口とを有し下方向へ延
出する多数の導液管と、この導液管の上面開口の周縁に
連続する肌接触域とを有する透液性表面シートと、不透
液性裏面シートと、これら両シートの間に介在する吸液
性コアとからなる体液吸収性物品の表面シートを前提に
している。
【００１０】かかる前提において、表面シートが熱可塑
性合成樹脂シートからなり導液管と肌接触域とを備える
第１シートと、その第１シートの下面側にあって導液管
の下面開口の周縁に接合する第２シートによって構成さ
れ、その第２シートが機械的に交絡した繊維のみからな
り、吸液性コアを構成する繊維成分よりも高密度を有す
ることがこの発明の特徴である。
【００１１】かかる発明の好ましい実施態様において
は、前記表面シートの第２シートの構成繊維が所要方向
へ配向しており、また、第２シートの構成繊維が７０〜
１００重量％のセルロース系繊維と、３０〜０重量％の
熱可塑性合成繊維との混合物である。
【００１２】また、この発明に係る体液吸収性物品の表
面シートの製造方法においては、実質的に高さが同じ多
数の突起を有し、その突起の頂部が平坦な成形型にメル
トブロー押出機から吐出した溶融繊維を吹きつけて前記
成形型に倣うメルトブローン不織布を形成したのち、前
記頂部においてメルトブローン不織布に加熱体を接触さ
せて周縁が多数の凹凸からなる開口を形成する。しかる
のちに機械的に交絡した繊維のみからなり、前記吸収性
物品の吸液性コアを構成する繊維成分より高密度の繊維
ウエブをメルトブローン不織布に対して供給し前記周縁
の凹凸に機械的に絡ませて接合することにより前記表面
シートを得ることがこの発明の特徴である。
【００１３】かかる発明の好ましい実施態様において
は、繊維ウエブの構成繊維が所要方向へ配向している。
また、繊維ウエブの構成繊維が７０〜１００重量％のセ
ルロース系繊維と、３０〜０重量％の熱可塑性合成繊維
との混合物である。
【００１４】
【作用】このように構成した表面シートでは、第２シー
トが下面開口の周縁に接合することで第１シートと一体
になる。それにより表面シートは剛性が向上して皺が入
りにくくなるとともに、下面開口は、その変形が拘束さ
れ、導液管は、閉塞しにくくなる。下面開口の周縁は吸
液性コアを構成する繊維成分よりも密度の高い第２シー
トに接合するとともに、第２シートが吸液性コアに接触
していることで、導液管を経て下面開口に達した体液
は、導液管直下において第２シートから吸液性コアへ移
行することに加え、第２シート面方向へも速やかに拡散
し、その拡散したところからも吸液性コアへ移行する。
【００１５】第２シートの構成繊維が所要方向に配向す
ることで、体液は、その配向方向へ特に拡散が容易とな
る。例えば、その配向方向を吸収性物品の長手方向と一
致させれば、吸液性コアの長手方向へ体液がよく拡散
し、吸液性コア全体を有効利用することができる。
【００１６】かかる表面シートの製造方法においては、
メルトブローン不織布に設けた突起部を溶融すること
で、周縁が凹凸からなる開孔を形成することができ、一
方、繊維ウエブは、繊維が機械的に交絡しているのみで
あるから比較的容易にほぐれて前記周縁によく絡みつ
き、メルトブローン不織布と繊維ウエブとは一体になり
易い。
【００１７】
【実施例】この発明に係る表面シート、およびその製造
方法の詳細を添付の図を参照して説明すると、以下のと
おりである。
【００１８】図１は、この発明に係る表面シート２を使
用した生理用ナプキン１の斜視図であって、一部が切り
欠いてある。ナプキン１は、透液性の表面シート２、不
透液性の裏面シート３、およびこれら両シート２，３間
に介在する吸液性コア４で構成されている。表面シート
２は、吸液性コア４の全体を被覆しており、ナプキン１
の裏面側において重ね合わせた両側縁どうしが接合し、
ナプキン１の両端において重ね合わせた端縁どうしが接
合している。裏面シート３は、ナプキン１の裏面側にお
いて、表面シート２と吸液性コア４との間に介在してい
る。
【００１９】図２は、図１のＸ−Ｘ線部分断面図であっ
て、表面シート２と吸液性コア４との接触状態を模式的
に示す。表面シート２は、肌側の上面シート５と、吸液
性コア４側の下面シート６とからなる。上面シート５
は、上面７と下面８とを有し、また上面７から下面８方
向へ延出する長さｈの導液管１０と、導液管１０の上面
開口１１周縁に連続する肌接触域１３とを有する。下面
シート６は、上面１５と下面１６とを有し、また導液管
１０内への露出域１７と、肌接触域１３に対向する非露
出域１８とを有する。下面１６は、少なくとも露出域１
７において、平坦であるか、または吸液性コア４方向へ
膨らんでいて、導液管１０内へ窪むことがなく、吸液性
コア４に容易に密着するようにしてある。非露出域１８
において、下面１６は、露出域１７と同様であることが
好ましい。
【００２０】上面シート５において、下面開孔１２は、
多数の凹凸や毛羽からなるぎざぎざの周縁１２Ａを有し
ている。一方、下面シート６は、繊維が機械的に絡み合
ったウエブであって、その繊維が周縁１２Ａに絡みつ
き、上面シート５と一体になって、表面シート２を形成
している。
【００２１】かかる上面シート５は、熱可塑性合成樹脂
フィルムや熱可塑性合成繊維不織布シートの賦型品であ
って、疎水性である。合成樹脂フィルムには、例えば厚
さ０．０１〜０．１０ｍｍのポリエチレンフィルムなど
を使用することができ、不織布シートには、例えば坪量
５〜１００ｇ／ｍ2のメルトブローン不織布などを使用
することができる。
【００２２】下面シート６は、パルプ、レーヨンなどの
セルロース系繊維７０〜１００重量％と、熱可塑性合成
繊維３０〜０重量％との混合物からなる繊維ウエブであ
って、表面シート５よりも親水性であり、吸液性コア４
を構成する繊維成分よりも高密度にしてある。例えば、
吸液性コア４を粉砕パルプと高吸水性ポリマーとの混合
物でつくる場合には、これら粉砕パルプの密度よりも下
面シート６のそれを高くしておく。因みに、そのような
粉砕パルプの密度は、通常０．０２〜０．１ｇ／ｃｍ3
の範囲にある。下面シート６の構成繊維の多くは、ナプ
キン１の長手方向に配向しており、体液は、毛管作用に
よりその配向方向へ特に拡散容易である。また、セルロ
ース系繊維からなる下面シート６に３０重量％を限度と
する熱可塑性合成繊維を混合しておくと、セルロース系
繊維１００重量％からなる下面シート６よりも体液の拡
散性を向上させられる場合がある。
【００２３】上面シート５における導液管１０は、吸液
性コア４に向かって細くなる先細毛細管、それとは逆に
太くなる先細毛細管、太さに変化のない円筒状毛細管な
どにすることができる。導液管１０の長さは０．１〜７
ｍｍであることが好ましく、上下面開口１１，１２の形
状は、円形、多角形、その他適宜の形状にすることがで
き、その開口径は、０．３〜７ｍｍであることが好まし
い。
【００２４】図３は、表面シート２を製造するための模
式的工程図である。この工程は、時計方向へ回転する成
形型としてのロール５１、ロール５１に対向するメルト
ブロー押出機５２、所要温度に設定可能な加熱ロール５
３、繊維ウエブ供給装置５４、および巻取装置６２によ
って構成されている。
【００２５】ロール５１は、周面に多数の突起５８と、
各突起５８周囲の凹部５９とを有し、各突起５８は、高
さが実質的に同じであって、平坦な頂部６０を有する。
周面全体には、多数の微細透孔（図示せず）が設けてあ
り、ロール５１内部のサクション手段４１へ連通可能に
してある。
【００２６】メルトブロー押出機５２からは、溶融繊維
４０を吐出し、サクション手段４１の作用下にロール５
１の周囲に吹きつけて、突起５８と凹部５９とに倣って
賦型したメルトブローン不織布４０ａを形成する。
【００２７】加熱ロール５３は、平坦な頂部６０に接し
ており、それら両者５３，６０の間に介在する不織布４
０ａを、その頂部６０において溶融し、開孔６１を形成
する。
【００２８】繊維ウエブ供給装置５４は、ガイドロール
５５を介して、開孔６１を形成した不織布４０ａの上
に、サクション手段４１を作用させながら、ウエブ４２
を供給し、加圧ロール５６により面圧をかけて、このウ
エブ４２がメルトブローン不織布４０ａの開孔６１周縁
に絡みつくようにする。そのようにして互いに一体とな
ったメルトブローン不織布４０ａとウエブ４２は、表面
シート２を得るための原反２Ａとして巻取装置６２で巻
き取る。原反２Ａは、適宜寸法に裁断してナプキン１に
使用する。
【００２９】かかる製造方法で得られる原反２Ａと、表
面シート２とを対比すると、メルトブローン不織布４０
ａとウエブ４２とは、各々が上下面シート５，６とな
り、突起５８と凹部５９とによって賦型した部分は、導
液管１０と肌接触域１３となり、頂部６０の上のウエブ
は、露出域１７となる。頂部６０は、平坦であるから表
面シート２において、露出域１７が上面開口１１方向へ
窪むことがなく、ナプキン１に使用したときに吸液性コ
ア４との接触が良好になる。
【００３０】なお、繊維ウエブ４２は、機械的に交絡し
た繊維のみからなる、例えば、ランダムウエブやカード
ウエブ、エアレイウエブ、これらのウエブを高圧水流で
交絡処理してなる不織布などであって、使用が予定され
ている吸液性コア４の繊維成分よりも高密度に調整した
ものを使用する。使用する繊維の７０〜１００重量％
は、パルプ、レーヨン等のセルロース系の親水性繊維を
使用し、必要に応じ３０〜０重量％の熱可塑性合成繊維
を疎水性繊維として混合する。これらのウエブや不織布
は、一般にその製造過程において機械引取り方向へ繊維
が配向する傾向にあるから、その配向方向が製造を予定
しているナプキン１の長さ方向となるように供給および
／または裁断することができる。

【発明の効果】この発明に係る表面シートにおいては、
下面シートが上面シートに接合することにより、導液管
の変形を拘束し、その変形による閉塞を防止することが
できる。
【００３２】下面シートは、吸液性コアよりも高密度で
あるから、体液は、導液管直下において下面シートを経
て吸液性コアへ移行する他に、下面シートの面方向へも
速やかに拡散し、その拡散したところからも吸液性コア
へ移行する。かくしてこの表面シートを使用した吸収性
物品においては、体液は、比較的広い面積において吸液
性コアへ移行することとなり、表面シート上に滞留する
時間が短くなって、着用者に与える湿潤感を軽減するこ
とができる。
【００３３】下面シートの構成繊維が所要方向へ配向し
ている態様においては、その配向方向への体液の拡散が
特に速やかになり、熱可塑性合成繊維の混入によってそ
の拡散を促進することができる。
【００３４】下面シートには、機械的に交絡した繊維の
みからなるウエブを使用したから、繊維が比較的ほぐれ
易く、導液管の下面開口の凹凸に容易に絡みつき、上下
面シートが一体の表面シートを簡単につくることができ
る。

Claims (6)

    (57)【特許請求の範囲】
  1. 【請求項１】上面開口と下面開口とを有し下方向へ延出
    する多数の導液管と該導液管の上面開口の周縁に連続す
    る肌接触域とを有する透液性表面シートと、不透液性裏
    面シートと、これら両シートの間に介在する吸液性コア
    とからなる体液吸収性物品の表面シートにおいて、 前記表面シートが熱可塑性合成樹脂シートからなり前記
    導液管と肌接触域とを備える第１シートと、該第１シー
    トの下面側にあって前記導液管の下面開口の周縁に接合
    する第２シートとによって構成され、前記第２シートが
    機械的に交絡した繊維のみからなり、かつ、前記吸液性
    コアを構成する繊維成分よりも高密度を有することを特
    徴とする前記表面シート。
  2. 【請求項２】前記第２シートの構成繊維が所要方向へ配
    向している請求項１に記載の表面シート。
  3. 【請求項３】前記第２シートの構成繊維が７０〜１００
    重量％のセルロース系繊維と、３０〜０重量％の熱可塑
    性合成繊維との混合物である請求項１に記載の表面シー
    ト。
  4. 【請求項４】上面開口と下面開口とを有し下方向へ延出
    する多数の導液管と該導液管の上面開口の周縁に連続す
    る肌接触域とを有する透液性表面シートと、不透液性裏
    面シートとの間に吸液性コアが介在してなる体液吸収性
    物品の表面シートの製造方法において、 実質的に高さが同じ多数の突起を有し、該突起の頂部が
    平坦な成形型にメルトブロー押出機から吐出した溶融繊
    維を吹きつけて前記成形型に倣うメルトブローン不織布
    を形成したのち、前記頂部において前記メルトブローン
    不織布に加熱体を接触させて周縁が多数の凹凸からなる
    開口を形成し、しかるのちに、機械的に交絡した繊維の
    みからなり、前記吸液性コアを構成する繊維成分より高
    密度の繊維ウエブを前記メルトブローン不織布に対して
    供給し前記周縁の凹凸に機械的に絡ませて接合すること
    により前記表面シートを得ることを特徴とする前記製造
    方法。
  5. 【請求項５】前記繊維ウエブの構成繊維が所要方向へ配
    向している請求項４に記載の製造方法。
  6. 【請求項６】前記繊維ウエブの構成繊維が７０〜１００
    重量％のセルロース系繊維と、３０〜０重量％の熱可塑
    性合成繊維との混合物である請求項４に記載の製造方
    法。
