Claims (3)
- シリンダー軸線(C)に沿って往復運動自在にシリンダー(12)に案内されて、シリンダーヘッド(15)に向き合う冠面(17)で燃焼室(18)を形成するピストン(16)と、
前記燃焼室(18)に臨む噴射口(29a)を有し、前記燃焼室(18)内に形成される順タンブル流(Tr)に燃料を噴射する燃料噴射弁(29)とを備える内燃機関(11)において、
前記冠面(17)には、前記シリンダー軸線(C)に直交して前記冠面(17)の外周縁を含む基準面(SD)よりも燃焼室天井面側に隆起して、湾曲面で形成される稜線(32a)を有して途切れなく凹部(33)を囲む隆起部(32)が形成され、
前記凹部(33)は、前記シリンダー軸線(C)を含みクランクシャフト(21)の回転軸線(Rx)に平行な仮想平面(FP)に直交する方向に、前記冠面(17)の中央に向かうにつれて窪むとともに、前記クランクシャフト(21)の軸方向に、前記冠面(17)の中央に向かうにつれて窪み、
前記仮想平面(FP)よりも排気弁(28)側にオフセットした位置で前記燃焼室(18)内に臨む電極(31a)を有する点火プラグ(31)をさらに備え、前記凹部(33)は前記仮想平面(FP)内に最深部(38)を有し、前記最深部(38)から排気弁(28)側の曲率半径(Rb)は前記最深部(39)から吸気弁(27)側の曲率半径(Ra)よりも大きいことを特徴とする内燃機関。 - 請求項1に記載の内燃機関において、前記隆起部(32)の一部で前記凹部(33)から分離されながら前記冠面(17)に形成され、前記ピストン(16)の上死点近くで吸気弁(27)および排気弁(28)をそれぞれ受け入れる空間を区画するリセス(36、37)を有することを特徴とする内燃機関。
- 請求項2に記載の内燃機関において、前記隆起部(32)は、前記クランクシャフト(21)の軸方向に並列に延びる1対の第1隆起部(34)と、前記仮想平面(FP)に直交する方向に並列に延びて、前記第1隆起部(34)の端同士を結ぶ1対の第2隆起部(35)とを含み、前記第2隆起部(35)は、前記第1隆起部(34)に近づくほど前記基準面(SD)からの隆起量を増加させることを特徴とする内燃機関。
