(c)ヘテロ置換基、すなわち、本開示の文脈において、主に炭化水素特性を有するが、さもなければ炭素原子からなる環または鎖中に炭素以外のものを含有する置換基と、を含む。ヘテロ原子は、硫黄、酸素、および窒素を含み得、かつピリジル、フリル、チエニルおよびイミダゾリルのような置換基を包含する。一般に、ヒドロカルビル基中の10個の炭素原子毎に2個以下、例えば1個以下の非炭化水素置換基が存在し、典型的には、ヒドロカルビル基に非炭化水素置換基は存在しない。
潤滑油組成物は、1種以上の過塩基性カルシウムスルホネート、過塩基性カルシウムフェネート、および過塩基性マグネシウム含有洗浄剤を含み、ならびに任意に他の過塩基性または低塩基性/中性洗浄剤を含む。好適な洗浄剤基質には、フェネート、硫黄含有フェネート、スルホン酸、カリキサラート、サリキサレート、サリチル酸、カルボン酸、リン酸、モノおよび/もしくはジチオリン酸、アルキルフェノール、硫黄結合アルキルフェノール化合物、またはメチレン架橋フェノールが含まれる。好適な洗浄剤およびその調製方法は、US7,732,390およびそこに引用されている参考文献を含む多数の特許公報に、より詳細に記載されている。洗浄剤基質は、限定されないが、カルシウム、マグネシウム、カリウム、ナトリウム、リチウム、バリウム、またはこれらの混合物などのアルカリ金属またはアルカリ土類金属で塩基化されてもよい。いくつかの実施形態では、洗浄剤は、バリウムを含まない。好適な洗浄剤は、石油スルホン酸のアルカリまたはアルカリ土類金属塩、および長鎖モノまたはジアルキルアリールスルホン酸を含み得、アリール基が、ベンジル、トリル、およびキシリルである。
本明細書の潤滑油組成物中に使用される基油は、米国石油協会(American Petroleum Institute(API))Base Oil Interchangeability Guidelinesに明記される、I〜V群における基油のいずれかから選択され得る。5つの基油の群は、以下の通りである。
本明細書の潤滑油組成物はまた、任意に、1種以上の酸化防止剤を含有してもよい。酸化防止剤化合物は既知であり、例えば、フェネート、フェネートスルフィド、硫化オレフィン、ホスホ硫化テルペン、硫化エステル、芳香族アミン、アルキル化ジフェニルアミン(例えば、ノニルジフェニルアミン、ジ−ノニルジフェニルアミン、オクチルジフェニルアミン、ジ−オクチルジフェニルアミン)、フェニル−アルファ−ナフチルアミン、アルキル化フェニル−アルファ−ナフチルアミン、ヒンダード非芳香族アミン、フェノール、ヒンダードフェノール、油溶性モリブデン化合物、巨大分子酸化防止剤、またはそれらの混合物が挙げられる。酸化防止剤化合物は、単独でまたは組み合わせて使用することができる。
本明細書の潤滑油組成物はまた、任意に、1種以上の耐摩耗剤を含有してもよい。好適な耐摩耗剤の例としては、金属チオホスフェート、金属ジアルキルジチオホスフェート、これらのリン酸エステルもしくは塩、ホスフェートエステル(複数可)、ホスファイト、リン含有カルボン酸エステル、エーテル、もしくはアミド、硫化オレフィン、チオカルバメートエステル、アルキレン結合チオカルバメート、およびビス(S−アルキルジチオカルバミル)ジスルフィドを含むチオカルバメート含有化合物、ならびにそれらの混合物が挙げられるが、これらに限定されない。好適な耐摩耗剤は、ジチオカルバミン酸モリブデンであってもよい。リン含有耐摩耗剤は、欧州特許第612839号においてより完全に記載されている。ジアルキルジチオリン酸塩中の金属は、アルカリ金属、アルカリ土類金属、アルミニウム、鉛、スズ、モリブデン、マンガン、ニッケル、銅、チタン、または亜鉛であり得る。有用な耐摩耗剤は、ジアルキルジチオリン酸亜鉛であり得る。
本明細書の潤滑油組成物は、任意に、1種以上のホウ素含有化合物を含有してもよい。潤滑油組成物中のホウ素の量は、潤滑油組成物の全重量に基づいて300重量ppm未満、または潤滑油組成物の全重量に基づいて750重量ppm未満、または潤滑油組成物の全重量に基づいて50重量ppm未満である。
本潤滑油組成物は、任意に、1種以上の分散剤またはこれらの混合物をさらに含んでもよい。分散剤は、潤滑油組成物への混合前にそれらが灰形成金属を含有せず、潤滑剤への添加時にそれらが通常いかなる灰にも寄与しないため、しばしば無灰型分散剤として知られる。無灰型分散剤は、比較的高分子量の炭化水素鎖に結合した極性基を特徴とする。典型的な無灰分散剤には、N−置換長鎖アルケニルスクシンイミドが含まれる。N−置換長鎖アルケニルスクシンイミドの例には、ポリイソブチレン置換基の数平均分子量が約350〜約50,000、または約5,000〜約3,000のポリイソブチレンスクシンイミドが含まれる。スクシンイミド分散剤およびそれらの調製は、例えば、米国特許第7,897,696号および米国特許第4,234,435号に開示されている。ポリオレフィンは、約2個〜約16個、または約2個〜約8個、または約2個〜約6個の炭素原子を含む重合性モノマーから調製し得る。スクシンイミド分散剤は通常、通常ポリ(エチレンアミン)であるポリアミンから形成されたイミドである。

本明細書の潤滑油組成物はまた、任意に、1種以上の摩擦調整剤を含有してもよい。好適な摩擦調整剤は、金属含有および金属を含まない摩擦調整剤を含み得、これらには、イミダゾリン、アミド、アミン、スクシンイミド、アルコキシル化アミン、アルコキシル化エーテルアミン、酸化アミン、アミドアミン、ニトリル、ベタイン、第四級アミン、イミン、アミン塩、アミノグアニジン、アルカノールアミド、ホスホネート、金属含有化合物、グリセロールエステル、硫化脂肪化合物およびオレフィン、ヒマワリ油他の天然に発生する植物油または動物油、ジカルボン酸エステル、ポリオールと1つ以上の脂肪族もしくは芳香族カルボン酸とのエステルまたは部分エステルなどを挙げることができるが、これらに限定されない。
本明細書の潤滑油組成物はまた、任意に、1種以上のモリブデン含有化合物を含有してもよい。油溶性モリブデン化合物は、耐摩耗剤、酸化防止剤、摩擦調整剤、またはそれらの混合物の機能的性能を有していてもよい。油溶性モリブデン化合物は、ジチオカルバミン酸モリブデン、ジアルキルジチオリン酸モリブデン、ジチオホスフィン酸モリブデン、モリブデン化合物のアミン塩、キサントゲン酸モリブデン、チオキサントンモリブデン、モリブデン硫化物、カルボン酸モリブデン、モリブデンアルコキシド、三核有機モリブデン化合物、および/またはそれらの混合物を含んでもよい。モリブデン硫化物には、二硫化モリブデンが含まれる。二硫化モリブデンは、安定な分散液の形態であってもよい。一実施形態では、油溶性モリブデン化合物は、ジチオカルバミン酸モリブデン、ジアルキルジチオリン酸モリブデン、モリブデン化合物のアミン塩、およびそれらの混合物からなる群から選択されてもよい。一実施形態では、油溶性モリブデン化合物は、ジチオカルバミン酸モリブデンであってもよい。
別の分類の添加剤としては、油溶性チタン化合物が挙げられる。油溶性チタン化合物は、耐摩耗剤、摩擦調整剤、酸化防止剤、沈着制御添加剤、またはこれらの機能のうちの1つ以上として機能し得る。一実施形態において、油溶性チタン化合物は、チタン(IV)アルコキシドであり得る。チタンアルコキシドは、一価アルコール、ポリオール、またはそれらの混合物から形成され得る。一価アルコキシドは、2〜16、または3〜10個の炭素原子を有し得る。一実施形態において、チタンアルコキシドは、チタン(IV)イソプロポキシドであり得る。一実施形態において、チタンアルコキシドは、チタン(IV)2−エチルヘキソキシドであり得る。一実施形態において、チタン化合物は、1,2−ジオールまたはポリオールのアルコキシドであり得る。一実施形態において、1,2−ジオールは、オレイン酸などの、グリセロールの脂肪酸モノエステルを含む。一実施形態において、油溶性チタン化合物は、チタンカルボキシレートであり得る。一実施形態において、チタン(IV)カルボキシレートは、チタンネオデカノエートであり得る。
別の実施形態において、油溶性化合物は、遷移金属含有化合物または半金属であってもよい。遷移金属としては、チタン、バナジウム、銅、亜鉛、ジルコニウム、モリブデン、タンタル、タングステンなどが挙げられ得るが、これらに限定されない。好適な半金属には、ホウ素、ケイ素、アンチモン、テルルなどが含まれるが、これらに限定されない。
本明細書の潤滑油組成物はまた、任意に、1種以上の粘度指数改善剤を含有してもよい。好適な粘度指数改善剤としては、ポリオレフィン、オレフィンコポリマー、エチレン/プロピレンコポリマー、ポリイソブテン、水素化スチレン−イソプレンポリマー、スチレン/マレイン酸エステルコポリマー、水素化スチレン/ブタジエンコポリマー、水素化イソプレンポリマー、アルファ−オレフィン無水マレイン酸コポリマー、ポリメタクリレート、ポリアクリレート、ポリアルキルスチレン、水素化アルケニルアリール共役コポリマー、またはこれらの混合物を挙げることができる。粘度指数改善剤は、星型ポリマーを含み得、好適な例は、米国特許第8,999,905B2号に記載されている。
他の添加剤は、潤滑流体に要求される1つ以上の機能を実行するように選択されてもよい。さらに、上述の添加剤の1つ以上は、多機能性であり、本明細書で記述される機能に加えて、または機能以外の機能を提供し得る。
Claims (23)
- 潤滑油組成物であって、
前記潤滑油組成物の全重量に基づいて、50重量%超の潤滑粘度の基油と、
ASTM D−2896の方法によって測定される、225mgKOH/g超の総塩基価を有する1種以上の過塩基性カルシウムスルホネート洗浄剤と、
ASTM D−2896の方法によって測定される、170mgKOH/g超の総塩基価を有する1種以上の過塩基性カルシウムフェネート洗浄剤と、
1種以上の過塩基性マグネシウム含有洗浄剤と、を含み、
ASTM D−2896の方法によって測定される、前記潤滑油組成物の総塩基価に対する、前記潤滑油組成物の全重量に基づく重量ppmでのカルシウムの量の比が、170未満であり、
前記潤滑油組成物の全重量に基づく重量%での全石鹸含有量に対する、前記潤滑油組成物の全重量に基づく重量ppmでのマグネシウムの比が、700超であり、
前記潤滑油組成物中のホウ素の量が、前記潤滑油組成物の全重量に基づいて、300重量ppm未満であり、
前記潤滑油組成物中のモリブデンの量が、前記潤滑油組成物の全重量に基づいて、330重量ppm未満である、潤滑油組成物。 - 前記基油が、II群の基油、III群の基油、IV群の基油、およびV群の基油からなる群から選択される少なくとも1種である、請求項1に記載の潤滑油組成物。
- 前記潤滑油組成物が、基準潤滑油C−1で潤滑されたブーストされる内燃エンジン内の低速プレイグニッション事象の数に対して、前記潤滑油組成物で潤滑された同じエンジン内の低速プレイグニッション事象の数を低減させるのに有効である、請求項1に記載の潤滑油組成物。
- 低速プレイグニッション事象の数の前記低減が、50%超の低減であり、前記低速プレイグニッション事象が、25,000エンジンサイクル中の低速プレイグニッション回数であり、前記エンジンが、1,800kPaのブレーキ平均有効圧力で毎分2000回転で作動する、請求項3に記載の潤滑油組成物。
- 低速プレイグニッション事象の数の前記低減が、85%超の低減であり、前記低速プレイグニッション事象が、25,000エンジンサイクル中の低速プレイグニッション回数であり、前記エンジンが、1,800kPaのブレーキ平均有効圧力で毎分2000回転で作動する、請求項3に記載の潤滑油組成物。
- 前記1種以上の過塩基性マグネシウム含有洗浄剤が、225mgKOH/g超の総塩基価を有し、過塩基性マグネシウムスルホネート洗浄剤、過塩基性マグネシウムフェネート洗浄剤、過塩基性マグネシウムサリチレート洗浄剤、およびこれらの混合物からなる群から選択される、請求項1に記載の潤滑油組成物。
- 前記過塩基性マグネシウム洗浄剤によって前記潤滑油組成物に提供される全マグネシウムが、前記潤滑油組成物の全重量に基づいて、100重量ppm〜1500重量ppmである、請求項1に記載の潤滑油組成物。
- 前記1種以上の過塩基性カルシウムフェネートと前記1種以上の過塩基性カルシウムスルホネート洗浄剤との組み合わせによって前記潤滑油組成物に提供される全カルシウムが、前記潤滑油組成物の全重量に基づいて、800重量ppm〜2400重量ppmである、請求項1に記載の潤滑油組成物。
- 前記潤滑油組成物が、前記潤滑油組成物1g当たり7.0mgKOH超の総塩基価を有する、請求項1に記載の潤滑油組成物。
- 前記潤滑油組成物の前記総塩基価に対する、ppmでのカルシウムの比が、50〜165である、請求項1に記載の潤滑油組成物。
- 重量%での全石鹸含有量に対する、ppmでのマグネシウムの比が、700〜2500である、請求項1に記載の潤滑油組成物。
- 前記潤滑油組成物中のホウ素の量が、最大で75重量ppmである、請求項11に記載の潤滑油組成物。
- 前記潤滑油組成物中のモリブデンの量が、1〜200重量ppmである、請求項1に記載の潤滑油組成物。
- 全ての洗浄剤の前記潤滑油組成物への全TBN寄与が、前記潤滑油組成物1g当たり4.5mgKOH超である、請求項1に記載の潤滑油組成物。
- 前記潤滑油組成物が、ASTM D−6557の方法によって判定される、ボール錆試験に合格する、請求項1に記載の潤滑油組成物。
- ブーストされる内燃エンジン内の低速プレイグニッション事象の数を低減させる方法であって、
ブーストされる内燃エンジンを潤滑油組成物で潤滑させるステップであって、前記潤滑油組成物が、
前記潤滑油組成物の全重量に基づいて、50重量%超の潤滑粘度の基油と、
225mgKOH/g超の総塩基価を有する1種以上の過塩基性カルシウムスルホネート洗浄剤と、
170mgKOH/g超の総塩基価を有する1種以上の過塩基性カルシウムフェネート洗浄剤と、
1種以上の過塩基性マグネシウム含有洗浄剤と、を含み、
ASTM D−2896の方法によって測定される前記潤滑油組成物の総塩基価に対する、ppmでのカルシウムの量の比が、170未満であり、
前記潤滑油組成物の全重量に基づく重量%での全石鹸含有量に対する、前記潤滑油組成物の全重量に基づく重量ppmでのマグネシウムの比が、700超であり、
前記潤滑油組成物の全重量に基づいて、前記潤滑油組成物中のホウ素の量が、300重量ppm未満であり、
前記潤滑油組成物の全重量に基づいて、前記潤滑油組成物中のモリブデンの量が、330重量ppm未満である、潤滑させるステップと、
前記潤滑油組成物で潤滑された前記エンジンを作動させるステップと、を含む、方法。 - 前記潤滑油組成物が、ASTM D6557に準拠するボール錆試験に合格し、基準潤滑油C−1で潤滑された前記ブーストされる内燃エンジン内の低速プレイグニッション事象の数に対して、前記潤滑油組成物で潤滑された同じエンジン内の低速プレイグニッション事象の数が低減する、請求項16に記載の方法。
- 低速プレイグニッション事象の数が、25,000エンジンサイクル中の低速プレイグニッション回数に基づき、前記エンジンが、1,800kPaのブレーキ平均有効圧力で毎分2000回転で作動する、請求項16に記載の方法。
- 前記1種以上のマグネシウム含有洗浄剤の量が、前記潤滑油組成物の全重量に基づいて、2重量%以下である、請求項16に記載の方法。
- 過塩基性カルシウムスルホネートの量と過塩基性カルシウムフェネートの量を組み合わせて、前記潤滑油組成物の全重量の2.0重量%以下を構成する、請求項16に記載の方法。
- 前記潤滑させるステップが、ターボチャージャーまたはスーパーチャージャーを備える火花点火直噴エンジン、またはターボチャージャーまたはスーパーチャージャーを備える火花点火ポート燃料噴射内燃エンジンの燃焼室または気筒壁を潤滑させる、請求項16に記載の方法。
- 前記潤滑油組成物で潤滑された前記内燃エンジンの低速プレイグニッション事象の数を測定するステップをさらに含む、請求項21に記載の方法。
- 前記潤滑油組成物が、ASTM D−2896の方法によって測定されると、前記潤滑油組成物1g当たり7.0mgKOH超の総塩基価を有する、請求項16に記載の方法。
