Abstract
Description
i)下記式で表されるポリ(ペンタブロモベンジルアクリレート)、
芳香族ジカルボン酸と脂肪族ジヒドロキシ化合物、および
芳香族ジカルボン酸と芳香族ジヒドロキシ化合物
に基づく種類のポリエステルを含む。
20〜60重量%のポリエステル(例えば、35〜55重量%)、特にポリアルキレンテレフタレート、特にポリブチレンテレフタレート(PBT)と、
20〜35重量%の補強充填剤、特にガラス繊維(例えば、24〜35重量%、特に27〜33重量%)と、
次亜リン酸カルシウムを含む難燃剤とポリ(ペンタブロモベンジルアクリレート)、臭素化ポリスチレンおよび式(Ia)の臭素化エポキシ樹脂からなる群から選択される臭素含有ポリマーとの混合物と、を含み、前記次亜リン酸カルシウムの濃度が組成物の総重量に基づいて、好ましくは5重量%〜10重量%(例えば、6〜9重量%)の範囲にあり、臭素含有ポリマーの濃度が組成物の全重量に基づいて、組成物中の臭素濃度が7.0重量〜12重量%(例えば、8〜11重量%)となるように調整される、組成物を提供する。
40〜55重量%のPBT(例えば、45〜55重量%)、20〜35重量%のガラス繊維(例えば、27〜33重量%)、5〜10重量%(例えば、6〜9重量%)のCa(H2PO2)2、12〜15重量%のポリ(ペンタブロモベンジルアクリレート)および0.1〜1.0重量%(例えば、0.3〜0.7重量%)のPTFE、または、
40〜55重量%のPBT(例えば、45〜55重量%)、20〜35重量%のガラス繊維(例えば、27〜33重量%)、5〜10重量%のCa(H2PO2)2(例えば、6〜9重量%)、12〜18重量%の臭素化ポリスチレンおよび0.1〜1.0重量%のPTFE(例えば、0.3〜0.7重量%)、または、
40〜50重量%のPBT(例えば、40〜45重量%)、20〜35重量%のガラス繊維(例えば、27〜33重量%)、5〜10重量%のCa(H2PO2)2(例えば、6〜9重量%)、15〜20重量%の式(I)または(Ia)の臭素化エポキシ樹脂および0.1〜1.0重量%のPTFE(例えば、0.3〜0.7重量%)を含む組成物は、
所望の燃焼特性を有し、すなわちUL94 V−0/0.8mm等級(いくつかの場合にUL94 V−0/0.4mm等級)の要件を満たすことが見出された。
PBT/GF30配合物を製造するために使用される材料は、表1に示す(FRは難燃剤の略語である)
アンダーライターズ・ラボラトリーズ標準UL94に従って、ガスメタンによる燃焼フード内で、厚さが0.8mmまたは0.4mmの試験片に垂直燃焼を適用することにより、直火試験を実施した。
ASTM D256−81に従って、Instron Ceast 9050振り子衝撃システムを使用して、ノッチ付きアイゾッド衝撃試験を実施した。
熱歪み温度(HDTと略され、ポリマー試料が特定の負荷で変形する温度である)を、ASTM D−648に従って、1820MPaの荷重および120℃/hourの加熱速度で測定した。機器は、HDT/VICAT−Plus DvePort、Lloyd機器である。
国際電気標準会議(IEC)標準公告112(DIN EN 60112)に従って、比較トラッキング指数(CTI)を測定した。試験は、0.1%のNH4Cl溶液(溶液A)およびPt電極を用いて実行した。
次亜リン酸カルシウムおよび臭素含有ポリマーで難燃化されたPBT/GF30
この一連の実施例において、次亜リン酸アルミニウムと次亜リン酸カルシウムのいずれかと、ポリ(ペンタブロモベンジルアクリレート)とからなる組み合わせを試験し、それらの三酸化アンチモンの非存在下でPBT/GF30の燃焼性を低下させる能力を決定した。厚さが0.8mmまたは0.4mmの試験片を製造した。その上、機械的、熱的および電気的特性も測定した。参考例1において、ポリ(ペンタブロモベンソンアクリレート)および三酸化アンチモンに基づく従来の製法を使用した。比較例4において、非ポリマー臭素化難燃剤を試験した。
次亜リン酸カルシウムおよび臭素含有ポリマーで難燃化されたPBT/GF30
この一連の実施例に示すように、ポリ(ペンタブロモベンジルアクリレート)の他に、市販されている他の臭素含有ポリマーは、次亜リン酸カルシウムと組み合わせて、UL94 V−0/0.8〜0.4mm等級のPBT/GF30組成物を達成することができる。

Claims (23)
- ポリエステルと、少なくとも次亜リン酸カルシウムおよび臭素含有ポリマーの2成分を有する難燃剤の混合物とを含む、組成物。
- 三酸化アンチモンを含まない、請求項1に記載の組成物。
- 前記ポリエステルは、ポリ(ブチレンテレフタレート)(PBT)である、請求項1または2に記載の組成物。
- 補強充填剤をさらに含む、請求項1〜3のいずれか1項に記載の組成物。
- 前記補強充填剤は、ガラス繊維を含み、前記組成物中の前記ガラス繊維の濃度が前記組成物の総重量に基づいて、10〜40重量%である、請求項4に記載の組成物。
- 前記組成物の総重量に基づいて、20〜35重量%の濃度の前記ガラス繊維で強化されたPBTを含む、請求項5に記載の組成物。
- PBT、ガラス繊維、次亜リン酸カルシウム、ポリ(ペンタブロモベンジルアクリレート)およびポリテトラフルオロエチレンを含む、請求項7に記載の組成物。
- 前記組成物の総重量に基づいて、40〜55重量%のPBT、20〜35重量%のガラス繊維、5〜10重量%のCa(H2PO2)2、12〜15重量%のポリ(ペンタブロモベンジルアクリレート)および0.1〜1.0重量%のポリテトラフルオロエチレンを含む、請求項8に記載の組成物。
- PBT、ガラス繊維、次亜リン酸カルシウム、臭素化ポリスチレンおよびポリテトラフルオロエチレンを含む、請求項7に記載の組成物。
- 前記組成物の総重量に基づいて、40〜55重量%のPBT、20〜35重量%のガラス繊維、5〜10重量%のCa(H2PO2)2、12〜18重量%の臭素化ポリスチレンおよび0.1〜1.0重量%のポリテトラフルオロエチレンを含む、請求項10に記載の組成物。
- 0.8mmの厚さでUL−94燃焼性試験のV−0等級を達成し、IEC 60112標準に従って、0.1重量%のNH4Cl溶液および白金電極を用いて試験した場合、測定される比較トラッキング指数(CTI)が400V以上であることを特徴とする、請求項1〜13のいずれか1項に記載の組成物。
- ポリ(ブチレンテレフタレート)、ガラス繊維、次亜リン酸カルシウムおよび少なくとも1種の臭素含有ポリマーを処理して、400Vを超えるCTI及びUL94 V−0/0.8mm等級を有する組成物を形成する工程を含み、その工程では三酸化アンチモンを添加しない、請求項1〜14のいずれか1項に記載の難燃性ガラス繊維強化ポリ(ブチレンテレフタレート)組成物の製造方法。
- ガラス繊維強化ポリ(ブチレンテレフタレート)組成物の燃焼性を低下させ、比較トラッキング指数(CTI)を改善する方法であって、一定量の臭素含有ポリマーおよび一定量の次亜リン酸カルシウムを前記組成物に添加する工程を含み、前記組成物が実質的にSb2O3を含まない、方法。
- 前記臭素含有ポリマーの量は、前記組成物の臭素含有量が前記組成物の総重量に基づいて7.0〜12重量%となるように調整され、前記次亜リン酸カルシウムの量は、その濃度が前記組成物の総重量に基づいて5〜10重量%となるように調整される、請求項16に記載の方法。
- 前記臭素含有ポリマーは、ポリ(ペンタブロモベンジルアクリレート)である、請求項16または17に記載の方法。
- 前記組成物は、前記組成物の総重量に基づいて、40〜55重量%のPBT、20〜35重量%のガラス繊維、5〜10重量%のCa(H2PO2)2、12〜15重量%のポリ(ペンタブロモベンジルアクリレート)および0.1〜1.0重量%のポリテトラフルオロエチレンを含む、請求項18に記載の方法。
- 前記臭素含有ポリマーは、臭素化ポリスチレンである、請求項16または17に記載の方法。
- 前記組成物は、前記組成物の総重量に基づいて、40〜55重量%のPBT、20〜35重量%のガラス繊維、5〜10重量%のCa(H2PO2)2、12〜18重量%の臭素化ポリスチレンおよび0.1〜1.0重量%のポリテトラフルオロエチレンを含む、請求項20に記載の方法。
- 組成物は、0.8mmの厚さでUL−94燃焼性試験のV−0等級を達成し、IEC 60112標準に従って、0.1重量%のNH4Cl溶液および白金電極を用いて試験した場合、測定される比較トラッキング指数(CTI)が400V以上である、請求項16〜21のいずれか1項に記載の方法。
- 請求項1〜14のいずれか1項に記載の組成物から成形された物品。
