Description
本願は、2016年8月10日に出願された米国特許出願第15/233,818号及び2016年6月10日に出願された米国仮出願第62/348,421号の優先権を主張し、ここにそれらの全てが参照により組み込まれる。
Claims (30)
- 電子ディスプレイ内の複数の層に関連するマスクを提供する工程であって、前記複数の層がカラーフィルタ(CF)層及び薄膜トランジスタ(TFT)層を有する、工程と、
中空状の基板を製作するために、前記CF層に関連するCF基板及び前記TFT層に関連するTFT基板から、前記マスクに対応する中空部を取り除く工程であって、前記中空状の基板が中空状のCF基板及び中空状のTFT基板を有する、工程と、
前記中空状のCF基板上に複数の色を分配する工程と,
前記中空状のTFT基板上に複数の薄膜トランジスタを分配する工程と、
前記複数の薄膜トランジスタに対応する複数の行及び列電極を、前記中空部によって遮断された複数の行及び列電極における各行及び列電極が前記中空部を迂回するように分配する工程と、
前記電子ディスプレイを得るために、前記CF層及び前記TFT層を結合する工程であって、前記電子ディスプレイが前記中空部を有する、工程と、
前記中空部内にセンサーを配置する工程と、を含む方法。 - 前記CF層及び前記TFT層を結合する前記工程は、
前記複数の層のうちの1の層に封止剤を配置する工程を含み、該配置する工程が前記中空状の基板に関連する輪郭をトレースする工程を含む、請求項1に記載の方法。 - 前記輪郭の内側に複数の液晶ビーズを配置する工程を含む請求項2に記載の方法。
- 前記中空部を取り除く前記工程は、
レーザーによって前記CF層及び前記TFT層から前記中空部を取り除く工程であって、前記CF層及び前記TFT層に関連する前記取り除かれた中空部が前記マスクに対応する、工程を含む請求項1に記載の方法。 - 前記マスクは、少なくとも2つの湾曲した角部を有する長方形状から成る請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記マスクは、円形状から成る請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記マスクは、前記電子ディスプレイに関連する上端部近傍に配置されている請求項1に記載の方法。
- 電子ディスプレイ内の複数の層に対応するマスクを提供する工程であって、前記複数の層がカラーフィルタ(CF)層、ディスプレイ層、及び薄膜トランジスタ(TFT)層を有する、工程と、
CF基板及び該CF基板上に配置された複数のカラー領域を有する前記CF層を提供する工程と、
前記CF層と前記TFT層との間に配置された複数のディスプレイ要素を有する前記ディスプレイ層を提供する工程であって、前記複数のディスプレイ要素が光を伝播するように構成された、工程と、
TFT基板及び該TFT基板上に配置された複数のトランジスタを有する前記TFT層を提供する工程と、
前記CF層、前記ディスプレイ層、及び前記TFT層から中空部を取り除く工程であって、前記CF層、前記ディスプレイ層、及び前記TFT層に関連する前記取り除かれた中空部が前記マスクに対応する、工程と、
結合層を得るために、前記CF層、前記ディスプレイ層、及び前記TFT層を結合する工程と、
前記取り除かれた中空部内にセンサーを配置する工程と、を含む方法。 - 前記TFT層を提供する前記工程は、
中空状のTFT基板上に複数の薄膜トランジスタを分配する工程と、
前記複数の薄膜トランジスタに対応する複数の行及び列電極を、前記中空部によって遮断された複数の行及び列電極における各行及び列電極が前記中空部を迂回するように分配する工程と、を含む請求項8に記載の方法。 - 前記CF層を提供する前記工程は、
前記CF基板上に着色されたフォトレジストコーティングを配置する工程と、
前記マスクに基づいて、複数の保護領域及び複数の非保護領域を有するようにフォトマスクを改良する工程であって、前記マスクが前記複数の非保護領域に関連する、工程と、
前記CF基板上に配置された前記着色されたフォトレジストコーティングを前記複数の保護領域内に残すために、前記複数の非保護領域を取り除く工程と、を含む請求項8に記載の方法。 - 前記ディスプレイ層を提供する前記工程は、
前記複数の層のうちの1の層に封止剤を配置する工程であって、該配置する工程が前記電子ディスプレイに関連する少なくとも一部の輪郭及び前記マスクに関連する輪郭をトレースする工程を含む、工程と、
前記輪郭の内側に複数の液晶ビーズを配置する工程と、を含む請求項8に記載の方法。 - 前記TFT層を提供する前記工程は、
TFT基板上に薄膜トランジスタを配置する工程であって、前記TFT基板がガラスから成る、工程と、
前記薄膜トランジスタ上にフォトレジストコーティングを配置する工程と、
前記マスクを含めるためにフォトマスクを改良する工程であって、前記改良されたフォトマスクが複数の保護領域及び複数の非保護領域を有し、前記マスクが前記複数の非保護領域に関連する、工程と、
前記TFT基板上に配置された前記薄膜トランジスタを前記複数の保護領域内に残すために、前記複数の非保護領域を取り除く工程と、を含む請求項8に記載の方法。 - 前記中空部を取り除く前記工程は、
前記CF層、前記ディスプレイ層、及び前記TFT層から前記中空部をレーザーによって切り取る工程であって、前記CF層、前記ディスプレイ層、及び前記TFT層に関連する前記中空部が前記マスクに対応する、工程を含む請求項8に記載の方法。 - 前記中空部を取り除く前記工程は、
前記複数の層上にエッチングレジスタント封止剤を配置する工程であって、前記エッチングレジスタント封止剤が前記マスクに対応する前記中空部に配置されておらず、エッチングレジスタント封止剤がエッチャーから前記複数の層を保護する、工程と、
前記複数の層をエッチャーに浸漬する工程と、
前記CF層、前記ディスプレイ層、及び前記TFT層から前記中空部をエッチングする工程であって、前記CF層、前記ディスプレイ層、及び前記TFT層に関連する前記中空部が前記マスクに対応する、工程と、を含む請求項8に記載の方法。 - 前記中空部を取り除く前記工程は、
前記CF層、前記ディスプレイ層、及び前記TFT層を結合する前記工程の後に、前記結合層から前記中空部を取り除く工程であって、前記中空部が前記マスクに対応する、工程を含む請求項8に記載の方法。 - 前記CF層、前記ディスプレイ層、及び前記TFT層を結合する前記工程は、
前記中空部を取り除く前記工程の後に、前記結合層を得るために、前記CF層、前記ディスプレイ層、及び前記TFT層を結合する工程を含む請求項8に記載の方法。 - 前記中空部を取り除く前記工程は、
前記CF層、前記ディスプレイ層、及び前記TFT層からダイヤモンドカッターによって前記中空部を切り取る工程であって、前記CF層、前記ディスプレイ層、及び前記TFT層に関連する前記中空部が前記マスクに対応する、工程を含む請求項8に記載の方法。 - 前記マスクは、少なくとも1つの湾曲した角部を有する長方形状から成る請求項8に記載の方法。
- 前記マスクは、円形状から成る請求項8に記載の方法。
- 前記センサーは、少なくともカメラ、環境光センサー、又は近接センサーのうちの1つを有する請求項8に記載の方法。
- 前記ディスプレイ層は、液晶ディスプレイ(LCD)層を有し、該LCD層は、LCD基板及び該LCD基板上に配置された複数の液晶を含む請求項8に記載の方法。
- 前記ディスプレイ層は、有機発光ダイオード(OLED)層を有し、該OLED層は、OLED基板及び該OLED基板上に配置された複数のOLEDsを含む請求項8に記載の方法。
- 前記ディスプレイ層は、微小電子機械システム(MEMS)層を有し、該MEMS層は、MEMS基板及び該MEMS基板上に配置された複数のMEMSを含む請求項8に記載の方法。
- 前記中空部を取り除く前記工程は、
偏光子層、前記CF層、前記ディスプレイ層、及び前記TFT層から前記中空部を取り除く工程であって、前記偏光子層、前記CF層、前記ディスプレイ層、及び前記TFT層に関連する前記中空部が前記マスクに対応している工程を含む請求項8に記載の方法。 - カラーフィルタ(CF)基板上に配置された複数の色を含むCF層と、
薄膜トランジスタ(TFT)基板上に配置された複数のトランジスタを含む、TFT層であって、前記CF層に関連する形状が前記TFT層に関連する形状に対応する、複数のトランジスタ(TFT)層と、
前記CF層及び前記TFT層内に形成された中空部であって、前記CF層及び前記TFT層から取り除かれた中空部と、
前記CF層と前記TFT層との間に配置された複数のディスプレイ要素であって、前記CF層に関連する形状に対応する形状で配置されており、光を伝播可能な複数のディスプレイ要素と、
前記中空部内に配置されたセンサーと、を備えるシステム。 - 前記中空部を有する前記CF基板に関連する形状に対応する形状となるように形成された偏光子層を備える請求項25に記載のシステム。
- 前記中空部を有する前記CF基板に関連する形状に対応する形状となるように形成された導光板及び拡散層を備える請求項25に記載のシステム。
- 前記CF層及び前記TFT層のうちの一方の外周の内側に配置された封止剤を備える請求項25に記載のシステム。
- 前記複数のディスプレイ要素に関連する前記形状が前記封止剤に関連する形状に対応する請求項28に記載のシステム。
- 前記複数のディスプレイ要素は、液晶ディスプレイ、有機発光ダイオードディスプレイ(OLED)、又は微小電子機械システム(MEMS)ディスプレイのうちの少なくとも1つを有する請求項25に記載のシステム。
