Abstract

Description
本出願は、米国特許仮出願61/323,438号(2010年4月13日出願)及び米国特許出願第13/082,427号(2011年4月8日出願)の優先権を主張する。
本発明は、室内グレアの低減た及び視覚的快適性の改善を発揮するコンタクトレンズ、並びに該コンタクトレンズの製造及び使用方法に関する。
表1に示す成分と希釈剤(D30)(77重量%成分:23重量% D30)(反応性混合物1)とから反応混合物を形成した。式1の反応性フォトクロミック化合物(反応性成分の重量に基づいて3.2%)を反応性混合物1に加えた。この反応混合物を、約23℃で少なくとも約3時撹拌又はローリングして、全ての構成成分が溶解するまで一緒に混合した。反応混合物を熱可塑性のコンタクトレンズ成形型(Zeonor(Zeon Corporationより市販)前方湾曲成形型及びポリプロピレン後方湾曲)に入れ、レンズ成形型の上下のPhilips TL 20W/03T蛍光灯を使用して次の条件で照射した、即ち、約1mW/秒2、周囲温度で約1分、2mW/秒2、80℃で約7分、及び5.5.mW/秒2、80℃で約4分。全ての硬化はN2中で行われた。成形型を開き、レンズを周囲温度で少なくとも60分間IPA及びDI H2Oの70:30(重量)溶液の中に抽出した。このIPA:DI水溶液を2回交換し、追加交換毎に周囲温度で少なくとも約30分間IPA:DI水に浸して残留希釈剤及びモノマーを除去し、脱イオンH2O中に約30分間入れた後、ホウ酸塩緩衝生理食塩溶水の中で少なくとも約24時間平衡化し、122℃で30分間加圧滅菌器で処理した。
式1のフォトクロミック染料(反応性混合物1の重量に基づいて6重量%)及び追加の5% PVPを反応性混合物1(上の表1に示されている)に溶解して、染料含有反応性混合物を形成した。
各実施例に関し、表3に挙げられた追加成分を表3に示される量で反応性混合物に添加し、溶解させて染料含有反応性混合物を形成した。釈剤、PVP、及びTEGDMAに関し、これら成分の追加の量を表3に記載のとおりに添加した。
PC2−式IIのフォトクロミック染料
染料溶液を以下のようにして調製した。周囲温度のDI水(500mL)を清潔なガラスのビーカーに加えた。反応性ブラック5ダイ(Organic Dyestuff Corporationより市販)を、下の表3に定められた濃度にするのに十分な量で各ビーカーに添加した。Tween 80(ポリオキシエチレ(20)ソルビタンモノオレエート、ICI Americas,Inc.より市販)、(0.08g)を各ビーカーに添加し、この溶液を均質になるまで撹拌した。
更に室内での快適性を改善する透過率プロファイルを確認するために、研究を行った。これに加えて、色知覚の維持を評価した。
室内での快適性の改善及びグレア低減を提供する透過率範囲を確認するために、臨床試験を行った。
これらコンタクトレンズ及び/又はサングラスの暗さを踏まえて、容易にコンピュータで作業し、雑誌を読み、テレビを見ることができた。
コンピュータで作業し、雑誌を読み、テレビを見る間、コンタクトレンズ及び/又はサングラスの色は許容可能であった。
サングラスの着用はコンタクトレンズのみを装着しているときよりも良好な視覚的快適性を提供しましたか?

サングラスの色は全ての室内作業に全く支障をきたさなかった。
(1) 体温近辺で420〜700nmの範囲にわたり70〜90%の透過率パーセントを有するコンタクトレンズ。
(2) レンズの幾何学的中心に中心があり、かつ約1〜約9mmの直径を有する中央円形領域と、辺縁部とを含むコンタクトレンズであって、前記中央円形領域が、体温で、450〜660nmの範囲にわたって70〜90%の透過率パーセントを有する、コンタクトレンズ。
(3) 前記辺縁部が、約20%未満の紫外線範囲における透過率パーセントを有する、実施態様2に記載のコンタクトレンズ。
(4) 前記辺縁部が、紫外線、青色光、又はその両方の透過を実質的に遮断することができる、実施態様2に記載のコンタクトレンズ。
(5) 前記辺縁部が、UV光の透過の少なくとも約90%を遮断することができる、実施態様2に記載のコンタクトレンズ。

(8) 前記レンズが、少なくとも1種の染料を室内グレア低減有効量(indoor glare reducing effective amount)で含む、実施態様1又は2に記載のコンタクトレンズ。

(16) コンタクトレンズを装着している人の各眼に、レンズの幾何学的中心に中心があり、かつ約1〜約9mmの直径を有する中央円形領域と、辺縁部とを含むコンタクトレンズを適用することを含み、前記中央円形領域が、体温で420〜700nmの範囲にわたって約70〜約90%の透過率パーセントを有する、コンタクトレンズを装着している人のグレアの不快感を低減する方法。

- フォトクロミック染料、ロイコ染料、サーモクロミック染料、及びこれらの組み合わせからなる群から選択される少なくとも1種の染料を含み、33〜38℃の温度で420〜700nmの範囲にわたり70〜90%の透過率パーセントを有する、シリコーンヒドロゲルから形成されたコンタクトレンズ。
